Thomas is a tidy player and will go far. Agree buckley is toss. Pete you will see i have said many times greyling and Kruger are pants and not bulls standard. With Steenkamp and Gary botha Kruger can be carried. Amazed botha does not start more. Genuine class player.
Just back from rugby and about to watch AP games. Off to Northampton tomorrow not hopeful

Do you mean terblanche the centre? Played for newport and originally was a dynamic try scoring wing

Terblanche is related to Eugene terblanche google him an awful racist killed last year. Steven said mujati had said van de merwe and muller had racially abused him. When I played in Durban it was rife. Van de merwe is a farmer/bush name so imagine would be really right Wing. These farmers live in the high veld and are crazy.

Was terblance the guy who broke his neck playing rugby? Didnt know he was still playing.
Thought the Sarries v Wasps one was a good game Pooly - two great tries by Wasps, some really gutsy performances by both defences.
Hear that Tom Guest has badly broken his arm in two places, out for months and months...

Terblance played full back vs the Lions in 09 for the sharks i think????
Also guys i'm away in tunisia from tomorrow for the week so here is my team and tactics for this week. - Be nice to have some thoughts on them before i go.
1.Brett Sturgess
2.Ben Kayser
3.Juan Orlandi
4.George Skivington
5.James Hudson ©
6.Declan Danahar
7.Carl Fearns
8.Gareth Delve
9.Tomas O’Leary
10.Steven Myler
11.Luke Fitzgerald
12.Regan King
13.Adam Powell
14.Matt Smith
15.Ian Balshaw
16.Neil Clark 17.Efion Lewis-Roberts 18.Tom Mercy 19.Tommy Hayes 20.Marty Holah 21.Haydn Thomas 22.Josh Matavista 23.Dan Hipkiss
- Exeter to play at a high tempo looking to be physical at the breakdown and ruck the man away and look for the turnovers that way.
- TOL/Thomas and Myler/Matavista to play what’s in front of them. King will be our play maker and look to create space outwide looping on Powell and and jinking past his opposite number.
- Exeter’s front 5 will look to make a mess of Falcons set piece and put there half backs on the back foot and under pressure.
- We will use short line outs and put big runners on Myler and Kings shoulders’
- Our back 3 have been instructed with Kicking as there last option and will look to attack the dog leg in defence and get over the gainline.
- We’re at home and Sandy park is no easy place to go and play rugby - Steenson in real life admitted kicking at Sandy park is a tough ask of any fly half because the wind is so unpredictable.
SUBS:
ELR for Sturgess 50 mins
Mercy for Orlandi 50 mins
Hayes for Hudson after 65 mins
Holah for Danahar 40 mins (Fearns to 6 Holah to 7)
Matavista for Myler 70 mins

Lol....cheeky move. Loving your dealing this season Driver.
I loan Holah off you....
You guilt me into loaning you Hipkiss as I have Holah
You take Holah back and keep Hipkiss!!!
I reckon you'll get JOC off me in a straight swap for Arscott by the end of the year!

Going to be out sometime poor fella. Horrible timing, if there is such a thing for injuries like that!, with the world cup period being a chance for him to move out from Easter's shadow.

I hoped he'd get a good run and possibly put pressure on Easter and maybe even get into the England fold especially as he's versatile.

Real shame for Guest. I get the impression with him that he is going to be one of those unfortunate players who never quite gets the opportunity to show what he can really do due to a combination of other players in his way and injuries.
Timing is everything in sport and his is terrible with injuries.

Just finished the Quins vs Irish game. Decent game quins were good value for their win. Topsy looked dangerous and young Garvey impressed with his work rate. Don't think Jarvis is much cop and he will hinder Irish in the way they want to play

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
We would be better served with Bowden at 10 and Shingler at 12 Mat. Jarvis had no clue what to do with our backs yesterday.

One mediocre 10 replaced by another at Irish it seems. Malone followed by Jarvis. not looking great.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
Hodgson's service wasn't great, but it wasn't so bad that Jarvis shouldn't have been able to do anything with it.
If he continues at 10 we will struggle badly as we don't have the pack to play 10 man rugby. Our strength is in our backs and playing an open game and Jarvis cannot do that.

Totally agree pete. Think Gloucester and Irish will be in similar positions this year. I imagine customarily you will stuff us at your place and we will stuff you at ours. Looking forward to our game later

I imagine he'll do a job at LH, looked steady enough against Hayman in the summer. Can see him displacing Mujati but def not Tonga, will depend how quickly he settles in to team I guess.

I can see him having mujatis place. Pdj is no loosehead and generally gets hammered there. We really struggled when he played loosehead. A really improved th though. He will do

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
I don't think he will take Mujati's place. Mujati is a better scrummager and better in the loose. PDJ still has a lot to prove for me at AP level, how many AP games has he played.
I can't see him being as destructive as Mujati.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
I thinks he's on par as a scrummager at the very least. PDJ has looked impressive at TH in a poorer scrummaging front 5 than Sarries have.
Mujati is a good player but I'd say Tonga and Hartley were more the reason they looked so
impressive. I remember Mercy looking equalling destructive alongside Hartley and Tonga.

Agree mujati is better in the loose. That's the one failing of pdj he is a bit of a ruck inspector. Personally think pdj is a better scrummager. Easy scrummaging with tonga and Hartley,

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
Reading a few papers this morning and they are all picking their England teams and putting Deacon ahead of Palmer - always think Lawes players better with Palmer. Never sure why Deacon features like he does!
Think Irish could really struggle this season, they dont seem to have recruited very well at all this year and Jarvis wasnt a very good 10 for Bristol (think that is where he played before). Who have they replaced Armitage with?
Think top 4 will be between 5 clubs this year - Bath, Tigers, Sarries, Saints and Wasps - with Quins and Gloucester pushing for the top 6 - Exeter could be a surprise team too - think they only have one player at the WC.

Austin Healy had Palmer/Deacon.
Palmer has been hit and miss but pulls it out of the bag against the big teams and can perform at a world class level, I'm a massive fan.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
That's what confused me Pool and itfl - he produces world class performances when it matters - a Deacon/Lawes partnership isnt the same.
Think we are close to have the best set piece in world rugby at the moment - scrum is so solid, and have great lineout too.
Was going to ask people about some combinations for my team:
Lock - who should I play with Attwood? Taylor, Launcbury of Clark?
Backs - have people seen Eerie Claasens play at all - he was great in the Championship last season, and has been brilliant for Worcester in pre-season and set up Benjamin's try yesterday with a great run. He's fb/wg - and I wanted to see whether people rate him?

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
Not Taylor imo. I'd prob go Clark, you have quite a few lineout options in the backrow with Messam, Kank and Lapandry. Just maybe explain in tactics.
Not seen Claasens yet but prob needs more than 1 decent game in the AP to be rated on here

Deacon Is a good player but palmer is pretty close to world class. The way he played against Australia was something deacon could never do. Also leads our lineout so can't see him being dropped

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
Mat - Claasens was at Nottingham, really intelligent player. Not sure where he played before that, or whether he came over the same time as his brother did with Bath. Nottingham have got some very good players.
With Palmer, Lawes, Croft, Haskell and Easter we've got some pretty darn good options in the lineout - dont think Deacon is anything other than a good player. Similar to how Cueto is now - still wish we had taken JSD or Sharples, need another winger who comes into the midfield and picks good lines. Would instantly solve our issues in attack!
