Setup, I know he didn't do it for Man U but I couldn't remember who scored for Man City in 1970(ish) in the CWC. Competition wasn't defined was it?

Withput Googling it Tommy would be a good shout.
Celtic having played in Euro final in 67 & 70.
Got a sneaky feeling it will be someone from Spurs, Man City etc who won or played in the Fair's Cup or the Cup Winner's Cup.

Law only played one season when he went back to City in 73.
His back heel relegating the Reds, was his last game for City.

I was surprised to see that you only had to win 4 games to reach the final back then, doesn't make it seem such a big deal Celtic winning it now.

Re: Golf Quiz[z]
Funny line about Gilzean in Hunter Davies' Glory Game.
Before the second leg Semi in Milan in 1972, a game he missed, he was in the dressing room shouting encouragement at the lads before they went on the field.
"You better win this one, lads, I need the bonus. I've got a wife, two kids and a budgie to keep."
"And a pub," shouted someone.
Those lines should be from the You Know You're Old When . . . . " thread.

Re: Golf Quiz[z]
Your wrong there SR.
Each round was home & away 1st, 2nd, quarters, Semi & then the Final was a one off match.
In 67 Celtic won every competition they entered.
The Racing club match mentioned earlier was in 68.
A lot more exciting than the boring Champions League now, with its design to make money for the 4 big nations.

No joke. Perhaps folk have to dig a bit deeper!
Your Royal Tesco is Westridge. next door to one of the biggest Tesco's I have seen.
Wonder if the members use it as a clubhouse, cheap bacon rolls.

The Royal Isle of Wight Golf Club played on the Duver at Bembridge until the early 1950's.
You can rent the old clubhouse as a holiday home, lovely verandah building.

This proved a little tricky when I posted it once before on another site
Who Am I:
1).I am an American pro golfer.
2).I have represented my country at Amateur and Pro Level.
3).My uncle has top 20 finishes in each of the Grand Slams and was once ranked in the world's top ten.
4).I am not named Haas.

Re: Golf Quiz[z]
My logic starts with the fact the uncle was in the top ten, so assuming that means post 1986. That would make the player of the current generation give or take.
Sadly thats where my thinking ends. I will continue to mull this one over...........

Actually my sports trivia is severely limited. But many many years ago my mother in law worked for Solgar who used to sponsor Uncle Aaron, so I knew the relationship ! Afraid you'll have to wait for a question in return as I'm currently at my desk and supposed to be working.
I'll give the matter the attention it deserves when I get home tonight, after I finish bragging to Mr.P.

Plunks,
If you get this right you'll have to come up with two questions!
Who Am I:
1).I am a professional golfer
2).I also enjoyed a distinguished amateur career and, in my second Major Championship, finished as low amateur
3).I have finished in the top dozen in each of the four Majors, my best finish being in The Open Championship
4).I am a cancer survivor
PS: Dear Sky: Aaron Krickstein is Morgan Pressel's uncle.

No, Coverage here won't start until just before the whistle - Ian Darke and Steve McManaman mostly likely the commentators.
Not Azinger; something tells you he won the PGA.

Re: Golf Quiz[z]
Ah so that is where Steve McManaman is. Conversation at golf club turned to him after I asked whether the guy playing for Soton (or was it Blackpool) was any relation.
Consensus was no due to the fact he'd married a rich lawyer or something and had no children.
Also some talk as to whether he was still involved in the Sunderland consortium.
Anybody here able to shed any light?
Oh quiz answers, I thought Azinger and then remembered he'd won one, since then I've been blank.

Went to get a beer came back and it is 0-1. Damn, could do with city loosing some points.
So fedex means recent. This is tough, and a little morbid trying to think about what player had cancer.

Very good Faldo!
Congrats, Billy Mayfair's the man.
Not many pros will play more PGA Tour events than Mayfair by the time he crosses over to the Champos Tour: 702 in the bag already and should get well over 800 by the time he turns 50 in 2016.
Even got married on a green at TPC Las Colinas if I remember properly. (He didn't get divorced on the course though.)

In case it is not Bermuda which seems a good guess, what about Canouan, which is in the Grenadines? It has a trump resort on it and from the look of it the whole island is golf course.
I wonder if the UK or the USA has more golf courses per capita?

Yep, Bermuda it is! I think it's something like 9 courses in about 21 sq miles, and every one with an ocean view.

I'd be astonished if the USA had more golf courses per capita than the UK. Would actually expect the UK to have at least twice as many. Just a guess, mind.

But the % after the nation is the % of the worlds total courses that are in that country.
But if we take the land size numbers you provided then the UK has 0.011297 courses per km2 and the US has 0.002306 courses per Km2.
