First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the collage of the captains of the World Cup Quarter Finalists pictures on the bar. We've got Sam Warburton, Brian O'Driscoll, Lewis Moody, Thierry Dusautoir, John Smit, James Horwill, Felipe Contepomi and Richie McCaw.

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Right then, off to the Mart. I am chuffed but also emotional. I really feel for Ireland. They played like mythical warriors in that first half, BOD especially and it's him I really feel for. Like Giggs, Rush, Best, he deserved a WC final, but won't (I think) get it. I said earlier it was a shame we met so early. I have the ultimate respect for Ireland and their fans for what they have done in this championship (I'm still not keen on Munster mind thumbsup).

Did I mention Rhys Priestland is my cousin? Very Happy

Well played Wales - some fantastic defence and super execution of the game plan. Phillips had a blinder... Warburton and Roberts - epic! Good luck in the Semi final.

To all the Irish regs - commiserations, sad to see your great team bow out but they will continue to be a huge force in world rugby in the coming years.

I'm gutted. But well done Wales. Masterclass by Gatland and his players carried out their part to a man. Roberts was superb and the halfbacks bossed the second half.
We got as far as we were expected before the comp. but a missed opportunity.

Good luck to Wales in the Semi-final. No reason why a place in the final can't be secured.

Hug to the Irish, really feel for you. You guys were incredible, I felt sick with nerves the whole time you had the ball. Really feel for your players like POC and BOD.

And Wales.....I just still can't believe it. Reckon it might take a while to sink in.

I just spoke to Hughie after he text me saying I did laugh at the score margin. Commiserations to Ireland. I know a lot of you had high hopes for this tournament. I am so shocked we have made a semi final, particularly when I wasn't sure we would escape the group.

I'm so pleased for Rhys Priestland. He's really grown as a player during the tournament. Who'd have thought that he'd keep Jones and Hook out of the team. This could be the making of him. Mind you they all fronted up today. A few players seem to have come back to their best. Yahoo Wales

Wales were fantastic. Perfect gameplan to beat us. Irish defence was passive while the Welsh one was very pro-active stopping us on their terms throughout the game.

I think Alan Quinlan in the commentary showed real class. I know Michael Owen was happy but even though Ireland did their best to disregard this statement, there were two teams playing in this game.

I am worry about Priestlands leg. Each match he's had more and more strapping on it, he looked like he almost had a cast on his knee today!

Also worried about Charteris, hope he's okay and Bennett could hardly walk by the end. Fingers crossed we haven't picked up too many injuires.

Not being funny here, but if the shoe was on the other foot do you think Quinlan would be so calm? His voice doesn't alter much anyway, so could you tell?

Two things surprised me about Ireland today. Firstly they didn't take many three points that came about and secondly they tried forcing so many miracle offloads. Pretty unIreland like.

Fair play Irish regs, thanks for the support. For me the highlights were keeping Murray, 1F and O'Brien quiet for the match. Lydiate was never seen but he kept them away from the ball all the time.

I'm gutted that it wasn't the semi final because both teams deserved to be there but let's all get behind the frogs to beat the English now Wink

And I just have to celebrate and take this onto the pitch later against Cilfynydd in the cup Yahoo

one of the key moments for me was in the first 5 mins, Roberts chargin for the line and he just dumped DOC on his arse. Set the tone for me.
