First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the collage of pub regulars. We've got the big group pic from the HEC final in Cardiff, plus insets of ll those who couldn't make it

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Yeah pal. Grand this morn. Did not drink last nigh/yesterday. Just tea. Really helps... Very Happy

This is some level and at some pace, eh? Check the offloading by both.

Wales and Ireland did the NH proud yesterday. High-intensity high level game also. Meant to say that.

Since when did the Kiwis start behaving like soccer fans?

It's not just Pocock who is fantastic at the breakdown for the Aussies.

Lawrence is usually really harsh at the breakdown and been overly whislte happy, now he's going the other way. Strange.

How do you deal with a big man on the charge? Tackle him early and tackle him low. Wales nullifed SOB yesterday. Ferris though was still a pain in the arse. Heaslip was largely anonymous. It was calling out for Jennings!

I know. But tell the ball-carrying 7, obsessed Cork-Irish coaches that. They don't know what a 7 is. And it has cost us. Seeing Pocock out there now, SOB would have really been checked out as a 7 earlier - in the pool.

If Jenno was English - he'd be in their team. But, he'd be out now like... ifyanoworimeanbud?

I can see why the Super Rugby template is popular, it suits the SH down to the ground and does prepare them well for playing each other. I don't know that it prepares them for cup style rugby. Whatever happens it will be an intense final. Jiw, edrych mlaen? Paid a siarad!

I did try pre match Gibbo, but your countrymen treated me like a loon. I could see however that all Irish eggs were being placed in a pretty ropey basket.

still getting used to the time difference MrsPenfro?

Got to say I watched taht first half in a bit of a daze, need some more tea to wake me up!

Been reading a few more articles about the change in Wales' tackling technique. Edwards says he wants to reinvent ankle tackling, something like that. It certainly worked for us yesterday anyway.

I'm not quite sure what it is. I'm not very good at sleeping during the day either so I don't really want to start doing that otherwise I'll never cope with work (not looking forward to tomorrow!).

It's quite a messy game isn't it. The Aussie backs seem to be running through the SAffers very easily but they're not really finishing off.

Will Gomarsall last the match without falling asleep? Where do they find these commentators, Vickery like an over-excited chimp yesterday and Gomarsall completely the other way. They'd be better off getting 'Rhian 'Madam Rygbi' Davies' to do it, she'd make it funny at least.

Gibbo, she's a character on the 'Jonathan' show on S4C.
