Not at the moment, for someone who keeps saying I want to play at 10 for Wales but when he does he just can't seem to play Roberts into the match and his decision making is questionable...i'd prefer him at 13/15

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
I always said Hook was a centre not a flyhalf
His best performances at 10 have come when coming on late against tired legs. His best performances overall though have always been in the midfield. Hes a top class centre on his day. Think 12. Roberts 13. Hook or vice versa is the best welsh combo and is up there with any combo in the world when both are on song

So much quicker with Williams at sh.
Pooly: I'd say Lydiate did well keeping Pocock quiet for 1st 50 but then just seemed to run out of gas now Pocock's in the game.

Agree with that one mate. Phillips has played well but takes on everything himself, Wales look more attacking with a traditional SH.
Great defence by North, he had no right to get to that

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
Sure Shane Williams takes more hits than any other player in rugby - how he got up from some of those I will never know!
Hook doesnt have the game management fro a top class 10, or the mentality when it comes to kicking. Can see why Gatland wanted to start him, but if Jones had started I think Wales would have won that one. Hook should stick to playing 12 or 13 as his careers being held up because he's able to play all over the backline. Really like him but he needs to stick to centres now.
Ryan Jones was very good - not sure what happened with the Welsh scrum this week, he was having to do so much tidying up at the back of the scrum.
Wales seem to be getting 2 good players for each position now, apart from the front row - now if only England could do the same!

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
Chris I'd say it was because Paul James started above Mitchell who is an out and out tighthead. Also I'd say the combination of AWJ-Charteris is better in the engine room although Davies had one of his best games in a while in a Welsh top...a lot of carries.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
I prefer AWJ-Davies, cant see Charteris backing his performance up long-term, whilst although Davies has had a relatively poor 6 months, he's still a very good player.
Tell you what though, the next Lions tour is shaping up well! Though not looking rosy for the Scots...

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
Davies is behind Charteris/AWJ. Charteris allows them to have a half decent lineout as well, he's been outstanding during the WC.
James is no TH and Gethin was crumbling at LH, have to remember he's only a few games into a long lay off and scrum fitness takes a while to build up. Without Jones to steady the ship a lot was put on Jenkins.

What do people make of Jean-Marc Doussain? I'm probably going to try and bring in another scrum half when transfers open again

I imagine Weepu, Faletau, North, Charteris may well be popular options. No idea who I'm going for. When is the next transfer?

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
think its just before the 6Nations.
It's been a bit of an odd world cup as defences have dominated this year and havent really seen any players from the smaller nations put in massive games apart from that giant Georgian flanker!

This was from Tigers team selection this week;
"Castro has had a bit of a hamstring injury and we want to make sure that is right before we push him back in and Ben has returned from the World Cup unfit to play," said Cockerill.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
Travis Knoyle looks like a good prospect Prop! I like how Gatland actually plays young talented players as opposed to England's philosphy of picking youngsters as the very last resort!
There was no point in us taking Hape - might as well have gone for Sharples! Also amazed Simpson didnt get more game time, the England backline lacked spark and he was the guy to bring that for us!
Not sure about North - think they will move him to the centres soon.

interesting article about Quade in NZ here. Not entirely sure I agree with it but has some good points and explains why I hate NZ!!

They were pretty tough but I can understand. Cooper is a pretty arrogant bloke and he has enough to say for himself. He'd have been the first to have a pop if Aus had have won WC.

Driver trust you to hear that!
North's defence was brilliant for that on AAC, but why he didnt dive for the line I will never know - I did something similar in a 7s game against what was effectively the Fijian national team. Always dived for the line after that!
Backline of the WC for me:
9. Phillips
10, Priestland
11. JOC
12. Nonu/Roberts
13. Smith
14. Kahui
15. Halfpenny

Big win for Leicester tonight, all returning English players playing well apparently.
Tuilagi, Cole and Tom Youngs crossing the line and Flood nailing 7 kicks. Looking forward to seeing the prem back to full strength and the HC starting!

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
Robson is becoming a top level lineout operator it's just there scrum that struggles as they've got neither a top level TH or LH. They are both players who won't let you down if they are with good players next to em but together with Gray they form a lightweight and currently not so streetwise front row.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
Morning all
Just want to explain why I've not been around much and been a bit stressed this week. The police woman who was murdered on Sunday by her partner that you may have seen on the news was a close friend of mine, as was her partner. It has all been a bit of a shock and knocked me for 6, and came on top of the news that I need to have a growth removed from my back which may or may not be malignant/benign, so it's been a bit of a week for me to be honest.
Thanks to all of you for your patience with me, I don't want to leave the game, just need to sort my head out a bit, but will make sure I get my teams in each week, just probably won't be getting into any transfers or much banter for the a few weeks.

That's one seriously lazy article, talk about stating the obvious!
They might have well have said:
"McCaw...he's a pretty good captain"
"Nonu is a good carrying option"
Sorry to hear Pete, no rush mate. Don't want to lose you from the game. I could caretaker if you wanted a few weeks off

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
Sorry to hear that Pete. Awful news.
This might be the time to mention that my time on here could be limited in the next few Weeks/Months or however long as sadly my dad has been diagnosed with Kidney cancer which is a pretty massive blow and along with being in the third year of Uni my time could be very pushed. Might mean I'm inactive next week as that is when surgery is scheduled and could go on for a while after that as these things can do.
So if teams/predo's don't appear then it's not just my laziness. As I said it shouldn't effect me short term but in the long run might need a caretaker for a few weeks etc
