morgannwg, I think you lost the argument with the Irish when you posted this...

Re: LIONS 2013 SQUAD
I really cannot see what anyone gains from saying that players are "in form" now because by 2013 they may well be out of form, this should be done on skill obviously form should come into it a bit because if this was done after the 2010 six nations you would have five or six Scotland players as well as that England won the six nations and just because the RFU is mucked up and England won't have a coach by this six nations doesn't mean their players are bad. James Haskell will have played in the super15 and will have a greater knowledge of southern hemisphere rugby than most as will Cipriani who will probably be back in Europe by then. You cannot rule out Jonny Wilkinson who would be a great addition from the bench if the game was tight at the end; he will only have played club rugby and so will possibly still be playing.
My squad:
Props- E. Murray, A. Jenkins, A.Jones, C. Healy, J.Marler

Re: LIONS 2013 SQUAD
Wow numbers - that is a good looking squad of players. I think Stuart Hogg might be pushing for FB place by then - he had another good game for Glasgow last night v Ulster.

Re: LIONS 2013 SQUAD
I'd have Sexton and O'Connell but apart from that I'd largely agree. Wouldn't have Cipriani and I don't think Wilkinson will be up to it in 2 years. What about Biggar or Hook (he'll be a flyhalf in France won't he)?

Re: LIONS 2013 SQUAD
Lions squad for fictional tour, this summer, based on the World Cup and form to date this season:
Props: Jenkins, Healy, Stevens, Jones, Ross, Murray
Hookers: Rees, Ford, Best
2nd Row, Grey, Charteris, AW Jones, O'Connor
Flanker: Warburton, Croft, Ferris, O'Brien, Lydiate, Palmer.
No 8: Heaslip, Haskel,
Scrum Half: Phillips, Cussiter, Youngs
Outside Half: Priestland, Sexton, Flood
Centre: Tuilangi, Roberts, Davies, O'Driscoll
Wing: North, Ashton, Bowe, Armitage
Full Back: Foden, Halfpenny
37 players, probably a bit harsh on England but they were poor at the World Cup.

Will spotted Rory, of course I meant O'Connell. Also England have such a good set piece, I was searching for some suitable English candidates to make up the 37. Palmer of course is a 2nd row not a flanker.

Whaa hey! Really? Jumping to conclusions is a dangerous game, as I could have sworn that it was NZ holding the Webb Ellis gold. Anyway fantastic to hear that Ireland won it instead so I'm off to Dublin for a gander - when's the open top bus due?
I took a shot. Mea culpa.
