First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing picture of newly retired Gareth 'Alfie' Thomas.

Also a special picture of Thomas Domingo and wishing him all the best on a speedy recovery.

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Morning Lucky,

I need to catch up with Asbo, I think the plan for tomorrow is a trip to London Scottish. Otherwise, my flatmate's GF is over from Ireland (she's in the process of arranging a move to London) so I'm going to be giving them a bit of space

I think the Ospreys will top their pool. I also think London Irish will. I don't see any other shockes personally. Very maybe there will be a shock in Pool 1 with Castres or Scarlets coming out of it. I don't think they will though.

Personally I think they will all take wins off each other and only one will qualify. It won't be Munster because they wont be able to get try bonus points, whereas Castres and Scarlets may be able to pull off two bonus points in the games that they lose.

That's very likely, but not guaranteed. The Scarlets always manage to pull off at least one blinder and one stinker at home. The Scarlets pack are showing signs of improvement though whilst Munster's is fading. The Scarlets seem to have learnt that sometimes they need to box clever up front. They have rediscovered the rolling maul but have also realised that their athleticism around the park is only an asset if they can move the other pack around the pitch.

In an ideal world they'll win stick it to Ashton and Co and lose to us Smile

I agree with Glas on the try situation - Munster need to win 5 matches to qualify.

Glas, it's the Scarlets' pack that would stop me tipping them to go far in the competition. They're not a bad pack at all, but when they come up against a serious juggernaut of a pack they might be the end of them. I'd love to be proved wrong, mind.

No you are right. If they get sucked in to a forward battle it takes away so much of the rest of their game plan. Mind you, if they improved their discipline at the breakdown it would help. By that I mean forget trying to pinch a turnover at every ruck and go for the targeted counter ruck. That's where ironically I think Munster are suffering at the moment. Their current back row seems to get pinged a lot more than they used to. I put that down to the fact that the whole pack used to drive over much sooner than they do now. The miscreant is left in the open for much longer.
