The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing picture of newly retired Gareth 'Alfie' Thomas.
Also a special picture of Thomas Domingo and wishing him all the best on a speedy recovery.
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

T just sent me two pal. I'll forward them to you.
Thanks T.
Hoi Stag, looking forward to the game? Yeah Friday is wrong. Although there are probably more Munster fans in Dublin than in Munster - in reality.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Yea I am Gibbo. I am both happy and sad at Munsters team. Who'd have thought a Munster v Leinster game, a Magners League v Heieneken Cup Champion showdown would be essentially a European Cup warm up match on a Friday night not being shown by RTE
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Measaim go bhfuil an anailís a dhéanann TG4 ar fheabhas.
( TG4 do good analysis for those who don't have the Gaeilge)
Stag, I think RTE/TG4 split the Leinster and Munster games. RTE will get the game in Thomond.

I'm surprised RTE didn't get the game in Dublin - I thought they were...eh...Dubccentric?

They are but you have to give the Weshties somethings aswell. Watch RTE fawn over Leinster when the do the highlights.

You know what. IMO Leinster and Connacht promote their teams so well. Munster and Ulster really don't.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
They haven't had to have they. The success on the pitch sorted it for Munster. Ulster had the tradition of being the strongest region to fall back on and that's just what they did.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Afternoon pub.
For what it’s worth I think the HEC quarters will be made up of the following: -
Pool 1 Northampton (potential bolters = Scarlets)
Pool 2 Racing Metro 92
Pool 3 Leinster
Pool 4 Leicester & ASM Clermont Auvergne
Pool 5 Ospreys & Saracens
Pool 6 Toulouse (potential bolters = Harlequins)
I’ve just gone for teams who I expect to win their home games and who could/should pull off 1 or 2 away wins.
Bath, Gloucester and London Irish are not consistent enough to pick up the away wins.
Of the French teams, Castres have not travelled well in the HEC in previous seasons and Montpellier and Biarritz will be more focussed on maintaining their top flight status in the T14
Munster and Ulster are in difficult groups and will find it hard to get those valuable away wins and Connacht may nick a win at home, but that’s it.
Blues just don’t have it at the moment and the Scottish teams have traditionally struggled to get out of their Pools. I don’t see anything will change this term. And the Italians just don’t have the firepower to compete at this level.

Ummm, was buzzing about the expectant visit of Toulouse to the Showgrounds. Said it was like Accrington Stanley getting Real Madrid to visit for a charity gig. Just wants a great performance. One to be proud of.

Hound do you really see Sarries getting best runner up. You know better than I but to me they don;t exactly rack up tries.

I know where I'm spending New Year
http://www.cliniquenapoleon.fr/
Finally found somewhere to cure me of my capsulitis. They offered December 7th as an entry date, but I was forced to decline their kind offer ,and so I go in on Boxing Day(which isn't a holiday here)for 3/4 weeks.Place looks great, good gym, next to a lake-december/january=NO mosquitos, heaven.

There's an upset in that match Gibbo. Remember when Toulouse went to a wet old Ravenhill and lost 30-3.
As my boss at work has been saying Toulouse have never had to walk across a bloody dogtrack to play a match.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Chef,
What's wrong man? Jeez just checked it out pal. Sounds painful.
Best country in the World for care and rehab though. Is it a bad case or a mild one?
Yeah, really changing my drink/smoking ways. Feel great even though its just my 2nd/3rd week. Well not so much today like...
No drink till Dec.

Consequences of my arm caught in a conveyor belt in 1991,the pain always comes back to haunt ye
Still, it was a work accident, and as such I don't pay a centime, apart from wifi, tv and laundry.I'm in training for December as well;but I may just have a demi to celebrate in the village tout a l'heure.
Beware of Castres or the Castrais, which literally translated means castrated(zey still av ze couilles )

Stag - Sarries are an incredibly difficult team to beat, and their away record (albeit domestic) is the best in Europe. These days they are able to find a way to win games, plus I think they learned a hell of a lot from last season's competition.
Very much dark horses, and not because they play in black

The Fla is right, it does. They should drop the Aviva name, now what the company are shutting down and getting rid of 1000 people in Ireland. Hungry basterds.
