Dickson's pass was stopping QUins in first half build anything quickly - Evans looks a different class every time I see him play, always has so much time on the ball.

I like Dickson. Wouldn't have known it wasn't Care in some games.
Glad people predicted before seeing this Connact performance. They are giving the best side in the AP (currently) a very tough game.

I don't like Smith myself. The way he didn't dive onto the ball in the deadball line was awful. Good runner but very little else. Unless their is rapid development I can't see him going past AP level.

Tough in Connacht, they really deserved something. Marler was great, needs to get involved with England more and learn some scrummaging technique. Sooner in though the sooner he'll progress. Look at Cole, Healy, Franks. They all took a few batterings and learnt.

Reckon Marler, Farrell and Sharples need to get called into England squad for 6N - got to give youth a chance. Marler seems a beast in the loose, get him training with best players in the league with enland and he will improve in tight v quick.
Can see England back line starting to take shape again:
9 care
10 flood
11 ashton
12 Farrell
13 Tuilagi
14 Sharples
15 foden
Subs - Simpson - Armitage - maybe Flutey
Wouldn't need a 10 on bench with Farrell

Sarries front 5 not great in tight and lacks carrying. Borth and Botha 2 of the worst carrying 2 nd rows you would see. Danie roussouw would transform that front 5.

If Youngs and Care are fit they'll be fighting it out for the 9 spot, Simpson isn't in their league Chris. You don't bring through talent like that then dump them.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
Youngs Simpson and care all young enough. I think youngs could be a world beater and the best but I thought the same of Harry Ellis. That said youngs is intelligent and has rugby pedigree. This rough spot form and injury wise may make him

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
I'd throw in Wigglesworth if fit too above Simpson, 9 is somewhere we're pretty strong tbh.
I've heard nothing on Youngs injury, all a bit strange.

Out for a while apparently and a reoccurrence. Tigers never reveal extent of injuries. Ellis always a week a way from fitness etc.
Youngs plays hard so always prone. Amazed genia does not get injured more similar style.
Apparently genia best bench press in Aussie side and highinbotham fastest 30m time.
Thought ioane would have both of those.

Yes he is seriously wide. Cardiff win a shock Roberts injured.
Genia so strong in contact as would expect with that lift.
Playing tomorrow at prop in 1s after playing my few games this year at 8. Once they know you can prop your 1st team career is never
Over.
Will watch glos get smashed on Sunday on tv with ice pack on neck. Can't wait to catch up all hc games from Saturday

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
Prop def not Cindy they are national 2. Playing for colstonians in prem apparently as an unregistered player ie ringer. Been coaching a few Bristol sides and having run outs in 2nd team for some other Bristol sides at 8 and 6 although i struggle at 6 after 5 cartilage operations.
8 I can carry and read game and do well and have scored a hatful in not many games.
Never played for this team before but a mate does
So should be fun.
Always play 1 when I prop as less technique involved and more mobile. Not a bad scrummager. I am all technique and not power as you need to play there every week to develop the muscles in your neck. Lucky I got coached by some of the best. Rather prop than second row which is the worst position to play. I love carrying tackling and spoiling 2nd row offers less chance for this

I was going to say!! I know colstonians played them for lyd a few times. I don't know 1 can screw up the whole opposition front row if you get it right!!

I love 2nd row. Would make a decent 8 but lack the pace to do it at the level I'd like to play at. At 6 foot 9 also pretty pigeon holed as a lock.

How any of you enjoy playing in the pack I will never know - I was told I could make a good openside with my tackling and work on the deck, but never ever wanted to get closer to the pack than 10 or 12. And even then that was sometimes too close as you had to join in mauls sometimes. Think you are all mad if you like that stuff!

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
I always found that the intelligent people went into the backs, whilst the slightly less intellectually gifted ones ended up in the pack
The only time I ever played in the forwards was against either Cambride or Oxford uni (cant remember which) when they had Joe Roff playing 10 for them - we had a sin binning and I had to go flank for two scrums - Roff got the ball and I went for a tackle and it was like running into a concrete wall that had been covered with a layer of titanium. We lost 96-0.

8 best position on park for me. You get to shape a game and make a real impact. You can also control the tempo of a game

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
Found hardest position in the backs was f/b - if you've got a good fullback then you are pretty well set. So glad Foden got persuaded to stay there, I think as an overall fullback he's the best around, in terms of defence, attack etc - Beale's the best to watch, such an exciting runner.
I hope the RFU sort themselves out soon as it looks like we have got some amazing talent oming through and the more they pi ss about the more everything will muck up with our team. We've been this way for over a decade, was the reason Sir Clive left in the first place.
Pooly - Tigers don't ever really let people know what's happening with injuries, I think it was Crane last year who got an absolute b ollocking for when he tweeted he got injured. THere was an interview, which I think has now been taken offline from TIgers site with Cockerill saying that Youngs had come back worse than before last injury and was out for many, many months.
I think he's another one of our batch of England players who could be world class - I've been a tad disappointed with how Care has developed over the last few seasons, think he needs to push on again. Wigglesworth is a good club player, but not an international - Simpson's running threat puts him miles above him in my opinion.
Think England have to move away from picking good club players, and going for guys who have the potential to become great international players. For me guys like Deacon, Wigglesworth, Payne, Hape shouldnt be close to an England squad again and be replaced by promising youngsters - doesnt matter if we lose every game for next 2 years, just as long as we then start winning from 2013 onwards building for the 2015 WC, whcih I honestly believe we can win.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
It's been a fair while since I last played rugby (properly) but have played wearing 15, 14, 11, 9, 7 and 2 on my back. Main problem for me is physically built for playing in the backs, mentally wired up for playing in the pack.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
So you were just guessing 6 months, ok. Wiggles is above Simpson because his basics are better, Simpson is a threat with ball in hand but still lacks a little control which is really important at the top level.
It's the reason why Pretorious isn't involved with SA because his box kicking is hit and miss and SA base a lot of play round that. He's basically a better Simpson in his general play but misses that top inch to a world class SH.
You think Foden is best FB in world Chris?

I'd have Beale and Dagg above Foden without question. For me Foden needs to consistently produce top displays at international level before I even consider him as being near to World Class.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
Wiggles doesnt pose a threat for top level defences anymore - like I said he's a good club player but not an international. England can't keep picking people who wont ever be a world beater, SImpson might not have the complete game but you work with what he has and give him chance to develop other aspects.
Would say Foden is most complete fb in the world in terms of balancing out all aspects of his game. Dagg and Mils are very good, but they have the best 14 players in the world in front of them, Foden doesnt lol.

Beale's awesome, would say he's best attacking fb in years and years - but he hasnt got say the defensive ability of Foden - that's why I say Foden is most complete fb in the world as he has great attacking and defensive ability.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
Put Foden into a team that uses him properly and he's a world beater, England dont, which is stupidity as he's a potent attacking threat. I wouldnt have Dagg ahead of him, but couldnt argue with Beale - just feel that Foden has the best all round game.
Whose everyone going for in Heineken Cup? I'm going for Saints, think they are the best English team when everyone is fit - Sarries have best squad, but best starting XV is easily Saints. Can't wait for the Munster game!

Not saying anything (damn you Pooly!)
He's having a cracking game - few more French clubs are taking Europe more seriously this year.
Still thinking Saints will win it - if they can get a BP in Munster then they have a chance.

loosehead was a pacific islander I think - sure they said one was from there, but tbh still dont know difference between loose and tight heads - they just push a scrum and drop passes as far as I know. Dont think they even have to run around the pitch!
Definitely need a loosehead, looking for no9 that will be available during 6Nations as think 50% of my starting lineup will disappear then.
