First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the wedding pictures of Dan Carter and Honor Dillon above the bar! And if anyone tells the Australian Womens' Weekly that KiwiRedDevil's Mum smuggled a camera into the service* there'll be hell to pay - they paid a fair amount for the exclusive Wink Run

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Well done Ulster.

Oh the joys of being an O's fan Rava. Still, after the last couple of weeks I've had, the O's getting knocked out of the HC is about right I think. Rolling Eyes

Rava, a Clermont win would leave us well clear of Leicester and only needing a win at Ravenhill to wrap up second. That would be nae bad. A Leicester win will make our next game harder and could leave us in third come the final day even if we see them off in Round 5...

Plus, Clermont are great. Say we bomb out; I'd much rather watch them than Leicester!

Ballix, Ulster need tigers to win today, and then see them off in Ravenhill, that would leave Ulster only having lost one going into the final game with ASM and tigers having lost two. That's the best scenario

Ulster would be top of the pool as it stands but you suspect they would need to be ahead by more than a point playing Tigers at home.

Being top of the pool means feic all when you have to go to Clermont in your last game. I'd rather be 2nd but well ahead of Leicester- either way we have to win at Clermont to go through 1st which is a bit unrealistic.

Cari Hug

Hound - ha perhaps I am, all I know is my hangover has gone, so that can only be a good thing Smile

Did half my shopping, will do the rest tomorrow I reckon. Juts bought my best mate the WRU calendar, and having seen the pics on the back, I kind of want one for myself now!

Saw some of the Leicester match in the WRU shop too, looks like it's been a good game so far.

Aironi 20-34 Ulster !!

Bloody hell Aironi have been superb in the second half, just get these five minutes over and get the feic out of dodge I think. The way it's going they could match our four tries.

You're all watching the wrong game.

Adam Macklin goes in for try number Six for Ulster.

We were past 80 minutes but both teams just kept in play. Both had chances to kick it out but everyone seemed to want to play Sevens for the craic. Mental end to the game.

What a game!

Ended the match with a Flanker at 12, a hooker at 6 and a prop at 8!

6 tries!

So good to see Adam Macklin run one in.

Did anyone else notice the tip tackle on Terblanche in the run up to the 4th try?

Knock out rugby for Ulster from now on, hopefully they can draw on the experience of last years QF and produce the goods. Having seen them defeat ASM at home already they shouldn't have to much to worry about against tigers, especially scoring six away from home today, it'll only boost confidence even more. If they can get into the final game needing a point away in Clermont it'll make for one Cracker of a game. Munster and Leinster have figured out how to do it, hopefully Ulster can follow suit.

Well, it's knockout for Tigers. They know they lose to us its over. Cornered Tigers? Dangerous beasts. Going to be a hell of a game.

But if Clermont put 4 tries past Aironi and we beat Leicester they'll be 2 points behind us meaning a LBP isn't enough.

Only way we can lose in Clermont and go through 1st is if we get 2 losing bonus points or they don't put four past Aironi and we get a try BP against Tigers AND a LBP in the last match.

It's very unlikely we can win the pool unless we win in Clermont.

Clermont will score more tries than us most likely. We need to either get more match point against them than they have against us or finish ahead of them.
