First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the wedding pictures of Dan Carter and Honor Dillon above the bar! And if anyone tells the Australian Womens' Weekly that KiwiRedDevil's Mum smuggled a camera into the service* there'll be hell to pay - they paid a fair amount for the exclusive Wink Run

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Ale cuppa coffee mug cider RedWine Bubbly

* Note to any lawyer-y types, that's a joke and is completely and utterly false, Mum forgot to put the camera in her handbag

Thank you Asbo, if I'd have said that all hell would break loose. Pugh is our Jennings. Criminally under rated.

That is so true. One last minute kick altered both teams seasons. Saints soft psyche underbelly was exposed. They lost their mojo after that game. Better teams would have recovered. They dont have the inner-Belief. Tigers, Munster, ASM, Leinster, Toulouse and maybe this year - Sarries - do. Funny ol game rugby.

Yea did you read this interview: http://www.walesonline.co.uk/rugbynation/rugby-news/2011/12/13/scarlets-captain-matthew-rees-believes-scarlets-can-topple-munster-91466-29941786/

For those of you who can't access the link basically Matthew Rees was having a laugh with a journo and said that Scarlets could beat Munster in Thomond. Sarcasm is really hard to understand in written form and despite Rees only taking the pish, it led to a great Scarlets display against Munster in Thomond.

Gibbo, it's a bit of a shock but I suppose I feel a bit detached from it seeing as it's over in another continent. We'll make do with what has happened. I imigine not much will occur till after Christmas anyway seeing as the body will have to be brought up to NYC.

Excuse me!

But what is so strange about (another) world class player wanting to come to play for the mighty Ulster?

He has clearly seen and heard plenty to tempt him.

Probably was impressed by our CEO's plan for World Domination too.

He'd be lucky to be asked!

Jerome Kaino's cousin used to play for Ulster (Filo Paulo, great player, couldn't get a UK work permit and is now playing for Auckland Blues in Super 15.) and John Afoa was the Best Man at his wedding. Not so far fetched!

Is Red Stag still coming to the Ulster vs Munster game on the 30th? It's pretty much sold out, wondering if he's got a ticéad?

Email I had today regarding a toilet seat, no hint of irony:

"This has been signed off as a free of charge replacement.  Unfortunatley it appears as if the seat is out of stock.  I am awaiting a lead time off our Purchasing Department.  I will contact you as soon as I have one.  Many apologies for the Inconvenience."*

Evening Cari, hope your new job is still going okay Smile

Am just gearing myself up to really have a go at doing this scrap book for my mam, done bits and bobs but still got loads to do. Also my grandma posted me loads of old photo's and stuff to go in it on Thursday but it's still not arrived yet. Getting a bit worried, would be horrible for them to have gotten lost in the post.

Dreamer - I wouldn't worry about the post. My sister's a postie and I was saying to her on Saturday that I'm waiting for a particular card/letter and she said that they've been prioritising parcels, so letters and cards should start coming out about this week and after Christmas.

Job's going OK. It's been nice this week, no school runs clogging up the roads, so the bus has been quicker, and we've been getting freebies in work. We're all having a buffet on Wednesday. I'm donating a tin of Quality Street. There's healthy! Very Happy

To be honest I suspect it's more a "I've won the RWC, now what?" If Kaino (and SBW next year if those back-to-League rumours are accurate) are the only 2 we lose aside from the retirees and Donald Duck it won't be too bad. NZRU have managed to re-sign a big chunk of the RWC squad, and NPC crowds have been pretty good. In SXV the Crusaders lost a lot of money in 2011 due to the earthquake but the North Island franchises are OK, and the Crusaders' new stadium is probably better located than the old one. (granted the Highlanders are a basket case economically, though luckily for them it's the Dunedin Council that's gone broke financing the fancy new roofed stadium).
