The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the wedding pictures of Dan Carter and Honor Dillon above the bar! And if anyone tells the Australian Womens' Weekly that KiwiRedDevil's Mum smuggled a camera into the service* there'll be hell to pay - they paid a fair amount for the exclusive
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

* Note to any lawyer-y types, that's a joke and is completely and utterly false, Mum forgot to put the camera in her handbag

No these are very different to Subway and McDonalds. Less processed and more of a DIY job. Hughie and Munsty will confirm they can't be got for love nor money.
Oh and they have to be sold in petrol stations.

Tanerdy Petrol Station in Carmarthen, Manordeilo Petrol Station in Llangadog and Gorslas Petrol Station in Cross Hands. Funnily enough all in the Scarlets region.

So I just asked the Ulster fans whether the "crisis" is over yet?
Answers:
Not yet Stag but 11 trys in two games will help.
Stag - no.
We are in the calm "eye" of the crisis, before we face more howling crisis-winds on the other side.
Stag the crisis will only end when the HEC trophy is back at Ravenhill

Munster crisis involves home losses and not qualifying from Europe. Despite having a shoite team we are winning games. I think its great

Its amazing the effect the ROG dropgoal v Northampton has had on the season. It crushed Saints spirit. It has helped Munster march on and has got the bandwagon rolling once again.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Webster's Dictionary defines "Mouldy" as the adjective to go off one's head on the cans. Undeserved victories are the best. Deserved losses are what kills you.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
When did you last have one of those? Your style is all about deserving it, isn't it? Why run tries in without massive overlaps when the forwards can take it on for another five phases at least, that sort of thing. No you deserve every victory I believe, nobody else would be that masochistic.
I'll quote a higher authority:
"Munster's book is beautifully written, but you don't half know what's coming next!"

Its all very simple. Munster are simply the most synergetic team in world rugby

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Luckless a ball should never be "flung" anywhere. Munster play a game with fantastically deft short passes (to pods of forwards) and is the essence of "total rugby" where each players unique ability has a value. The scrumhalf who can pass, the flyhalf who can kick, the forwards who can slow down ball, the forwards that can go forward, the front row who can scrummage legally and the ones that use the dark arts to do it, the fullback who'll catch the high ball and the backline that will chop you to pieces soon as you move.
Its an amazing blend of talents, shapes and sizes which simply allow everyone to feel involved no matter how big a misfit they may be; small and impish like Peter Stringer or half man, half bull like John Hayes. Even people who are only an excuse of a rugby player such as Niall Ronan or Tomas O'Leary are offered shelter in this purist's safe haven.

Jonathan Edwards (sell him now) scored a perfectly good try, but yellow belly Pearson didn't even have the globes to go to the TMO.
Welsh radio said ROG would be cited for a cowardly punch on Rees, anything come of that?

Enough about that, what about your assertion Ulster would be out of the group by the time Leicester came to play at Ravenhill? We're two points ahead of them ahead of their visit...

Fair play Notch. I had assumed you'd lose to Clermont and Tigers would have picked up a few extra bonus points.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Glas, would it have made a difference if Jedwrds try was allowed considering Owens scored around a minute later?

rugbydreamer wrote:why do you want to sell Jedwards?!
Because he is about as subtle as a brick and gets penalised and carded far too often, lacks pace for an openside, doesn't carry at all well and doesn't have the finesse to make up for it in handling skills. A pale imitation of Richie Pugh. If I think of anything else I'll let you know.

Who knows? Probably not. But, Pearson didn't know that did he? You can't have a situation where you have a pop at the players for chopsing to the ref, but then say it up to them to demand the TMO if they think they have scored. (as with Lucky earlier tongue in cheek)

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
He's 10 times better than Pugh and you know it!
Pace, carrying and handling skills he more then made up for after his sinbinning. If he could cut out the brain farts he'd be a very good player.
And I am far too easily wound up

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I'd sell him and keep Pugh (telling the WRU and their 7's team to feic off) any day. Just because Pugh was an Osprey shouldn't count against him. He is an excellent player and highly under rated. Can't wait to get Turnbull back. He is the daddy, better than Warburton.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Pugh was the same as Jedwards a couple of years ago in being a penalty machine. Some players just take a bit of time to learn how to...well cheat I guess.
The difference between yesterdays match and last week was that we actually managed to generate turnover ball because we started with an actual 7. Jedwards can be a penalty machine but he's the best 7 we've got.

No he's not Turnbull is (when fit). I would put Pugh ahead of him also.
Put it another way, if I was out and trapped in an alley, I know who I would prefer by my side. Jedwards is a, well, bit of a wimp. (in relative terms of course and yes I know he would batter me etc, etc.)

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Completely disagree with you about Jedwards, Glas, completely.
Pugh is decent, makes a good impact as a sub, but I wouldn't trust him starting week in week out for us.
Turnbull can be brilliant, but I'm still not convinced he's an out and out 7, sometimes I think he's more affective at 6. A very good player though and we are missing him this season, hope he comes back fit asap for us.
