The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the wedding pictures of Dan Carter and Honor Dillon above the bar! And if anyone tells the Australian Womens' Weekly that KiwiRedDevil's Mum smuggled a camera into the service* there'll be hell to pay - they paid a fair amount for the exclusive
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?
Old Pub: https://www.606v2.com/t19779-the-dew-drop-inn-virtual-rugby-pub#757023
* Note to any lawyer-y types, that's a joke and is completely and utterly false, Mum forgot to put the camera in her handbag

Bore da/good morning all.
Despite being up sick half the night, my stupid boss has decided it's a good idea to come into work and spread her germs about why do people do that?!
Ah it felt better to have a little rant about that.
Hope everyone's well today, and great to hear those that went for drinks last night had a good time

Just think its all getting a bit impersonal. I have a phone with free phonecalls and text messages as well as 606 to talk to you lot. What do I really need Facebook for only to read random titbits of information.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
ah well that's fair enough I guess if that's all you use it for.
Do you not use it to keep in touch with other friends or family at all?

Just a tad knackered this morning for some reason
A prudent day off today. Off to get & for Christmas later, but now it's brekky time.

I do to some extent but not all that much. I usually just text or call people (or I should anyway).

Is having something of limited use better than not having it?

This is neither the time nor the place to talk about Paddy Wallace. Im not opening that can of worms.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Reckon the only reason I keep facebook is that I get to chat to my brother on it, and it helps be keep track of friends' birthdays and contact details. Otherwise I'd want nothing to do with it!

I'm the most reluctant user of Facebook who is on there regularly. I can't stand it but find it very useful and entertaining. It's like having breakfast in a greasy spoon caff. All humanity is there and my favourite hobby is people watching. Also if people like me didn't use it every post would be abbreviations poor spelling and swearing.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I thought facebook was just for telling jokes?
There’s a friend on my list, she’s my mate’s sister. She has to win the award for the most inappropriate use of FB ever.
A week or so ago she “checked in” at the hospital with the tag line “going to be here all night “
So straight away one of her mates was in with the stock stupid person response of “aw hun, evryting ok? x”
And she was straight back with “my toe has gone septic, I went to the doctor and he sent me here “
C’mon people, at what point is it ok to share that? i’m strongly considering deleting mine too I must say.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
In my defence, I haven't used it since really other than to apologise the week later
I don't see why people need to delete something. it's there as an extra tool so just use it when you see fit no?
Mickado, I would recommend just blocking that persons updates. they won't know you've done it but at the same time you get to keep them as a friend without insulting them..
Simples no?
And Glas, you are not one bit a reluctant user of facebook.

Ah lads, you don’t have to delete anything. I’m not being precious here, I’m just saying it was nearly 3 weeks ago and I didn’t complain at the time, but the joke as run its course.
Thanks.
Yeah Mick, I’ll block her. I just never go on FB on the pc anymore, only on my phone and you can’t block people on there. You know who I’m talking about though yeah? Roisin.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Question for Irish Regs.
Devon Toner has improved his performances this season and had a particularly good game at the weekend. Although I am yet to be convinced, do any of you think he is ready to take the step up to being a regular first choice for Ireland?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I don’t see why not Rav, he most definitely has improved this season and was in contention for MOTM at the weekend, his handling has improved his body position when taking the ball into contact is much better and he clearly loves a cheeky offload. We should reward form, and he’s in as good form as any other second row.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I personally am not convinced either Rava but to be fair to him he has been impressing more and more recently.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
He could be your late developer 2nd row type like Luke Charteris. I've been much more impressed with Toner this season then last and he's still got huge room for improvement. Perhaps not regular start as of yet, but I reckon he'll get there.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Hey Dreamer,
Yeh I am good. not a bother on me. just wanting this week to pass to get a few days off over Christmas (10 to be precise)
Rava,
I am happy with him this season. He seems to have bulked up a good bit more. which I didn't think it was possible and accepted him to always be a lanky so and so.
I think he has been good in the line out as well as at the break down.
And seemed to be breaking the gainline with consummate ease on Saturday (albeit against a poor enough Bath side).
I think why not give him a chance.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Nathan Hines sent him a tweet today. something like
“just watching the highlights from the weekend, how about your offload? outstanding. #hatsofftoyousir”
And Toner replied with
“ha, cheers mate. #learnfromthebest”
I like Wagga more since he’s left Leinster, that just aint right. From reading his tweets he always looks out for our games and gets back in touch with the lads. What a player.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Rava I'd have laughed at the thought of Toner playing for Ireland a year ago ...in fact I thought he was pants, total and complete rubbish.
Having watched him over the last few weeks I have been blown away. Seriously he has been awesome I can't believe hes the same player ! He's got to be an outside bet for HEC player of the season!
