The Wales vs England bickering thread, 2012 - PONIES ALLOWED!
First topic message reminder :
OK, every year we see threads that actually contain really good rugby discussion derailed by the ongoing Wales vs England bickering and WUMMING! I will name no names. I guess we have all been guilty .
Since most of the general bickering comes from the respective fans of Wales and England ; I thought I would create a thread for it in an effort to keep decent rugby discussion relatively WUM free in other threads.
So I will begin, An article in the Western Mail today pointed out how England are copying Gatlands youthful approach with a squad that has an average age of 25 and 428 caps between them.
http://www.walesonline.co.uk/rugbynation/rugby-news/2012/01/12/analysis-new-look-england-follow-youthful-wales-lead-91466-30105333/
Wales probable squad (once you have taken out Shane and Wellies from the World cup squad with their probable replacements) lines up at the same average age and about 820 caps between them. England are copying Wales' approcach but are way behind. Clearly all things point to a wales victory in HQ this year.

Please may I emphasise that this is a bickering and banter thread, whilst mild wumming and banter are allowed please try not to stray over the line of decency.

Hold on now, because its has recently been proven that Sir Tom (ahem) Jones is virtually 100% English, genetically at least, so take him off the Welsh list, and put him on ours !!

And really Churchill is just a rubbish example for your argument. Not only is he half American but his record as Prime Minister doesnt really stack up to Lloyd George. So factually incorrect and poor argument. Must do better.

Don't know how he's seen in England but in Wales that fella Owain Glyndwr is considered pretty famous. I've never quite been sure why the English have never taken to him

Its difficult to remember which of the early american presidents isnt welsh so you should forgive him that MS I mean after Jefforson, John Adams, John Quincy Adams, Madison, Coolidge, Bush, Monroe, five or six signatories to the Declaration and from the confederacy both Lee and Jefferson Davies were from welsh stock I think getting lincoln wrong is forgivable.

And thats just blindingly obvious, it keeps the English away, were not allowed to gut you with longbows anymore so chagring you £6 (yet again factually incorrect) is the best option. Your as off form as your team MS, really the standard of wumming used to be so much better. Now you guys are just making it up, wheres the real belief in your wum? wheres the creativity? Its just the same old tired style of wum dresssed up as a new wum. A bit like your rugby team really.

Serious answer is because Wales own the bridge "i think"
But of course the real reason is because no one would pay to go to England

Tycroes- Owne Glyndowr, well i think a lot of Englishmen have heard of him, certainly i have, but he kind of disappears in to the list of Rebels that we have obliterated, and as for Bob Hope, well he was born in Eltham in London, but unsure of his ancestry before that.
But lads it is tue that Sir Tom (ahem) Jones has been found out to be of English descent, primarily from Bristol area who settled in Wales during the Boom years of 'King coal'.

I love this thread, some very comical things.
One thing i do love about the Welsh fans though, is no matter where they are, win or lose, give them a few drinks and they all think they are Tom Jones. Love it dearly, always a great atmosphere

Personally I think we in England should club together, and buy a house for NZ 7's wing Halai. I watched the highlights of the Wellington 7's last night, and apparently this guy can't get a contract to play 15's in NZ. But he's like a bigger, faster version of George North, but with actual talent. If we could get him out here, look into his ancestory and if we can't dig up a grandmother, then he'd be well qualified prior to 2015 and that's the main thing!
