The Wales vs England bickering thread, 2012 - PONIES ALLOWED!
First topic message reminder :
OK, every year we see threads that actually contain really good rugby discussion derailed by the ongoing Wales vs England bickering and WUMMING! I will name no names. I guess we have all been guilty .
Since most of the general bickering comes from the respective fans of Wales and England ; I thought I would create a thread for it in an effort to keep decent rugby discussion relatively WUM free in other threads.
So I will begin, An article in the Western Mail today pointed out how England are copying Gatlands youthful approach with a squad that has an average age of 25 and 428 caps between them.
http://www.walesonline.co.uk/rugbynation/rugby-news/2012/01/12/analysis-new-look-england-follow-youthful-wales-lead-91466-30105333/
Wales probable squad (once you have taken out Shane and Wellies from the World cup squad with their probable replacements) lines up at the same average age and about 820 caps between them. England are copying Wales' approcach but are way behind. Clearly all things point to a wales victory in HQ this year.

Please may I emphasise that this is a bickering and banter thread, whilst mild wumming and banter are allowed please try not to stray over the line of decency.

Did Rhys Priestland bottle it in Dublin.
The new boy wonder of Welsh rugby looks to me like he doesn't have the temperament to play in the BIG games.

Bickering can take many forms HERSH its not simply about being as insulting as possible.
My thread and as far as Im concerened nothing is off topic. As long as you stay away from expletives and targetting individual posters because of race, gender, sexuality etc.
By its very nature this thread is supposed to have wide ranging comments and discussion. As long as thats carried out in a light hearted manner there is no problem.
Either way its for the mods to decide if somthing is innapropriate.

Priestland didnt have a great day with the boot HERSH but he more than made up for that with his general play. He got the Welsh backline working very well and made a few very good runs as well.

Goalkicking aside, Hersh, Priestland had a good game. I wouldn't say he bottled it at all. I recommend you watch JD2's first try and George North's late try and look at the role Priestland played in both.

Is this another case of a Welsh player being over hyped by the Welsh media and fans alike?

I'd rate Biggar ahead of Priestland.
Also its interesting to see Peel has signed a new contract with Sale Sharks, one of his reasons was that he felt the Jeff is of a higher standard and that the fitness levels are also higher.

No it came from a dangerous tackle earlier in the game when the Irish chap blatantly failed to lift his legs safely in the air so he could tacke the impact on his head.
Cant beleive it wasnt spotted by Barnes or cited.

Well clapham common has a tube station (northern line) and is effectively battersea. In fact the transport links in battersea are excellent. I can be in Waterloo or Victoria (mainline) in under ten minutes and the numerous bus routes especially in the queenstown road end of battersea are excellent.
Furthermore, there will be a new tube station on battersea park rd by 2015.
Battersea is twinned with Copenhagen

clapham common is noweher near battersea, you might as well go to sloane square and walk back over the bridge!!
i work in london alot and if i train it and have a few visits, battersea is allways an annoying journey. the resaon it is getting a tube in 2015(lets see if thats on time) is because it needs one, i dont touch buses for obvious reasons.
I mean blimey battersea is so close to central london yet takes the same time to get to a main line station on the train as it does from croydon!

I live in battersea and use clapham common tube every day. It's a 5 min walk, maybe 10 if you're very fat.
Sloane sq is a 30 min walk, even for an athlete like myself

i think it depends on which part of batersea you live- my appoinments are normally around the park- the point is there is a big gap from a tube line in battersea- and i am looking forward to the tube coming.
where i am living at the moment i normally just get on a train to the junction and walk it- its not to bad- but when you do alot of travelling in london you get used to how good it is toi get to other parts on the tube

The lighthouse pub on battersea park rd does a decent roast although the prince albert on albert bridge road is probably better. Either way both offer far superior roasts to anything you would be served up in whales

I can't believe Shane Williams thinks Bradley Davis has been hard done by.
He shouldn't be allowed on a rugby pitch for the rest of the season.

So you think Bradley Davis was treated harshly?
Rugby is a game where by a serious injury is a potential hazard at any age group or level, the actions of Bradley Davis damages the image of the game, if a parent, teacher etc were to see the images of a player lifting a fellow player and dropping them on their neck in an attempt to cause injury will only harm the game in the long run, as I've known parents who have stopped their son playing the game because they believe it is to dangerous, I have also known schools both in Wales and England that refuse to play the game anymore.
Only a fool would think that he was hard done by.
