The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Tommy Bowe, Ryan Jones, Dan Newton and birthday boy Prop above the bar.

Can I have some shroves, please? Whatever they are.

Are you sure the Canada game was a full international? I was sure Earls was uncapped before the Lions tour too.

IRFU exploring the possibility of hosting the 2023 World Cup. Massive assistance would be needed from the GAA.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I have mixed feelings about such a bid Rava.
As an Irish rugby fan I'd love it. However I wonder would the money be more than the country can afford and I feel it looks more like a GAA money making exercise than anything. We would be completely dependent upon them.

Rodders,
Canada was a full Test. Plus Earls came on as a sub against New Zealand that same year.

OK fair enough Munsty
An IRFU bid would be fantastic. Ireland would be a brilliant place to host the RWC and it would give the whole country a massive boost.
Everyone needs to get behind it and believe we can pull it off. It would be amazing.

Is that as a replacement for someone, or is he just coming in for the experience?

It'll be for experience Lucky. Kidney calls up a youngster or two into all his squads.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
There was an article in the indo this morning about Leinster vowing to “fight the IRFU” on the new NIE player rulings. Leinster have just released a statement saying they won’t be fighting anything. I think Guy Easterby might be getting his wrist slapped for speaking out of turn.
The Ireland team is announced today lads.

I rate Gilroy. I'm not convinced by Paddy Jackson yet, although the potential is there.

Reactionary.
See he can't win!
The fossils from various OAP clubs in the area were bussed to the civic hall in Llandeilo last night where we gave them pancakes and tea and they were entertained by the local school's music department and the Young Farmer's Club. Sorry to the elders of the pub, you're just outside our catchment area.
Question:
Conservative - low score margin either way,
or,
Expansive - high score margin either way?

lucky, looks good, really only Matthew Rees and Luke Charteris missing from a starting XV (altho Ian Evans does seem to be fulfilling his potential at last)

Over half the starting XV have surnames that end with the letter S.

Good point, lucky. Also, I don't know whether you noticed, but the whole squad apart from one player have vowels in both their first and surnames. FACT

Penfro! oh PENFRO
I've started an article on the Ulster v Ospreys game. I was wondering if you would cast your eye over it to make sure everything is factually correct and proper names have been used
Thanks

Rava he made 44 changes. He changed the entire 22 . . . . . then changed them all back again. A lot of change.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Well, to be fair to Kidney, this 15 hasn't had much gametime whilst the other players in the squad got a game last week. So ahead of the last three games it makes sense for them to get some gametime under their belts.

You can read between the lines Glas good man.
My own team not that it matters would have been:
Healy, Best, Ross
Ryan, O'Connell
Ferris, Heaslip, O'Mahony
Reddan, Sexton
McFadden, Earls
Zebo, Kearney, Trimble
Cronin, Court, Toner, O'Brien, Murray, O'Gara, Bowe

It's a necessity to cut a path through the notoriously think jungles of County Antrim. See this picture of a Ballymena resident going to the shops for some milk;

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Nuts.
It does remind me of a local Solicitor who in defending somebody for carrying a machete produced his own from under the desk saying: "here's mine, I use it for fishing" (this was before the law was tightened up, but still!)
Also there is a story about social services telling a father he could not have access to his daughter whilst he had a machete. His response "well, it is an excellent tool, an excellent tool...I'll have to think about it".
