The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Millennium Stadium Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has teleported itself inside Millenium Stadium this week to see if the men in red can manage a Slam. There's also TVs showing the other 6N matches, the U20s and Womens' matches, Super XV, the "Classic" match and LV= Cup action.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Mervyn Davies and Jock Hobbs above the bar!

Congratulations mate. Know how you feel England will get better for sure and Lancaster should get a two year deal now.
We now have two young International sides that are exciting and will contest the 2015 World Cup. Ireland have the players. Unfortunately we are now two years behind at this level.

And I'd like to thank my father. Back in the Autumn when Wales beat Ireland in the World Cup he said: "if you can go to Dublin in the spring go, it will be a corker."
Best game of rugby I've been to in a long time. That come back gave them the impetus.
Yes there's been controversy, luck, favourable calls and close shaves. This is a big competition.
ASBO - what can I say. All the talk about what you could have achieved. You have a great pack.
Gibson, Rava, Notch et al - I hope the IRFU do justice to Irish Rugby. Heineken cups are great but they need to find somebody to maximise your potential at this level. It is not Piña Colada man.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Millennium Stadium Rugby Pub
Watched the second half in time warp so just finished now. Feel a bit cheated of a rugby match if you know what I mean?
I know scrummaging is a big part of rugby but it's really the only thing we saw today.
Not saying that to begrudge England their victory, just feels weird that we only saw that one aspect. Probably not expressing it very well.
Anyway, will it be pretty impossible for the RFU to appoint anyone apart from Lancaster now? Seems like such a grounded and sensible bloke.

Annoying game from an Irish point of view. Both teams lacked direction but England had a scrum won it for them.
I think all those that are really annoyed with the game should look at the Muamba incident in the football and remember it really is only a game.

Hello from Devon, after half a bottle of I'm ready to talk
Scotland - Andy Robinson has taken a team that had promise at the start of the 6Ns (England, France games) and marched them backwards - goodbye, Andy, you are the weakest link (not that the players are infallible btw)
England Coach - the whole England coaching team looked hacked off even when winning today, and CEO Richie none too chirpy either - am I reading something into nothing or had a difficult thanks-but-no-thanks conversation just been had?
Wales - magnificent: 3 grand slams in 8 years is a fantastic achievement
That is all for now, I've got the other half of the bottle left to achieve further wisdom

Asbo,
There's no wisdom at the bottom of a whiskey bottle, much less a whisky bottle!
Munsty, you are right of course. Much bigger issues.

I hate to say it Mrs P, but those scrums were coming from Irish errors more often than not.
Kidney must take the rap for not having a tight head on his bench. Mind you Mundter want a 6'4" TH to lift POC in the line out - nonsense.

Glas,
There were almost as many that came from English errors. I suspect the English were hoping they could knock on just to get another scrum. it ddn't matter whose put in it was.

We capitulated Glas. We were mentally gone from that game. We couldn't catch a ball, take a pass or win a scrum.

It's called Twickers Jitters Notch. It happens. You need to ditch Kidney though.

I'd disagree with that. There were knock ons you'd expect because of the weather but England had many more inexplicable mistakes.

I think we couldn't catch a ball or take a pass because we were absolutely blown away in the scrum.

It is good news although it is difficult to understand when reading the accounts of what went on.
I hope and pray it is as good as it sounds.

I agree wholeheartedly with this. I am very very angry right now but this ain't the time. Plus my blood alcohol content is pretty high so I may say a few things I regret. But as I say not important at the moment. Praying for Muamba.

Asbo:
Irish regs: that 2nd half, just ouchtown
English regs: what a match from you guys, and Ben Morgan with motm, had me well happy! so chuffed he's playing well for you, enjoy the win!
Welsh regs: what a blydi day.
I'm all done in. Completely over did it last night, been drinking since really early today, and have hit the wall. Just settling down to watch the match again (tis about to start on BBC2 Wales). Perfect end to my day. Just....happy, so SO happy, not enough words to describe it.
Was shocked to hear the news about the footballer though, really horrible news, very much hope he can make a recovery.
Also, French fans are the best ever. Been a joy to have so many here in the city.

How wrong can one woman be?! I have seen the light. It is not Andy Robinson, it is not Declan Kidney, it is not Stuart Lancaster, it is not Philippe Saint-Andre - i will say no more for fear of giving the game awayMrsP wrote:Asbo,

Ireland - you need more tight heads - just Mike Ross was always a risk
There is more to come ...

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Millennium Stadium Rugby Pub
Evening all
Only just watched the England game as didn't get home from work in time to watch it live. Really pleased with the performance from our guys. I hope the RFU haven't made an almighty feic up and given Mallet the job.
Congratulations to Wales, worthy winners of the competition, and commiserations to to Scottish and Irish fans amongst.
Also my thoughts go out to Fabrice Muamba who is critically ill in hospital after collapsing in the Spurs v Bolton FA Cup match earlier. Reading between the lines of the press release, it does not look promising for him. Very sad day.

Home. Poles fighting in a house and one pulls a knife. Picked up
Another one, Wild West style bar room brawl. An officer was hurt in a fight in another pub. Another officer was assaulted in a domestic where two cans of CS were used, the first one having no effect on the guy (roider). On the way home I saw two Ambulances with blue lights, an Ambulance car and two police cars the same. The cells in Llanelli are full and when in interview I had a call to go to Ammanford which has been opened up specially as an overflow.
Be carefull out there.

Morning Asbo, comiserations mate, I really do believe that Scotland are very, very close to being a good side, but Robbo has to go now surely?
Glas, I actually cringed when he came out with that, I mean, seriously? In a GS year the story is England putting up one decent performance? Against France incidentally - the man is in a different world.
The same world Inverdull lives in, mourning the death of Jack Hobbs, come on John, get over it - it's been about 50 years now and he didn't even play rugby.
