The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Cross Keys
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has ventured to Cross Keys, as their team is in the British and Irish Cup Final.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Richie McCaw, George Smith, Robert Nash,Billy Holland, John Muller, Greg Laidlaw, Aurelien Rougerie, Leo Cullen, Rhys Thomas and Iestyn Thomas.

Morning All, . I'll pass up on the recently slaughtered pig thanks
Maybe try some of Asbo's please.
Decent morning here as well. Might just get some rain later though.

Thanks for all your input, seems my bro has managed to get a ticket for the final. What is the score with the pre and post match meets? I think that's a sensible approach.

Morning folks,
Just to let you know I WON’T be attending the HC final this year. completely hamstrung by having to be in Ireland on the Friday night so travelling Saturday morning is either too expensive or going to take too long. It’s a bit rubbish but I’m sure you’ll all get by without me

I'll bet there was a pub up there as well
Mountains? in the UK? Ben Nevis is a foothill. Less than half the height of Aoraki Mt Cook.
Morning all. Good to see some banter between Ulster and Leinster players on Twitter last night, Andrew Trimble vs Sean O'Brien gave me a small grin to ease the pain of the pasting we copped at netball last night. 41-13, - they 'only' had 3 England Indoor reps

All that netball must keep you pretty fit, Kiwi. Since I've stopped cycling to work I hardly do any exercise at all.

Mother of god I've spent the morning browsing here and the sentiment towards the Irish provinces is horrific.
I'm far from a key board warrior but some things need to be said.
Stinks of jealously to me. It's only because of your superstars from the sh that you's made it to the finals.
Ireland has 15 NIQ players in the three main provinces. I wager ASM have close to that number in their fricking squad. But no all we do is buy in quality players from the SH. GOD FORBID WE WOULD BUY GOOD PLAYERS, na I know let's go out and spend a load of money on someone shoite.*
Just does my head in sometime
*this doesn't actually count for Ulster. As we all know they'd be flocked without their saffers

Can I just say good luck to Woy Hodgson as England manager. It's a thankless task managing England as their fans have hugely unrealistic expectations, and he comes across as a good egg. Unfortunately, I get the impression some have got it in for him already just because he's not Harry Redknapp. Newsflash: they could have appointed Jose Mourinho and England still wouldn't win a thing.

I wish. I tried to go for a run Saturday afternoon in between rain showers and my ankle tendon started spasming inside 500 yards . Luckily last night I was playing Goal Keep, so not too much running around (lots of pushing and shoving instead), and I can "lean in" on the other foot.

I just wish the schedules allowed an HEC vs SXV winners match. Though the doom and gloom from NH fans afterwards might make the board a little depressing.

Touche.
Leinster vs Crusaders would be a cracking match at the moment. I'd have 7-9 Crusaders and 6-8 Leinstermen in a composite XV
Healy/Crockett
Strauss
Franks
Thorn
Whitelock
O'Brien
McCaw
Reid
Ellis
Carter
Guildford
O'Driscoll
Fruen
Nacewa
Dagg/Kearney

True. But Cooper's not fit at the moment, and the Reds have a host of other long-term injuries

Gloucester have an excellent chance at drawing an Irish province in the ERC next year too. That might be a top one to go for.

Mick, that's a real shame bud. At least next year will b e in your home town, so hopefully you'll get the green light for that even if Leinster don't make it - it'll be worth the ticket price to see Exeter!Mickado wrote:Morning folks,

May risk your area it was her new years resolution to do England-Scotland-Wales and Ireland. We're looking at Edinburgh and Ireland one in July and one in Autumn I think with America in the middle!!

I did indeed Luckless. She's actually running along fine.
Prop here's a plan for you. Fly into Belfast spend a day there. Get a train to Dublin and spend a day there. Head down to Limerick and spend a day there. I'll drive you up to either Kerry or Galway as well.
You'll get Belfast, Dublin, Limerick, Galway out of it.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Cross Keys
To be fair Stag: if the logistics worked for that it would be awesome! Cover all four (right?) In one holiday! I shall suggest it to her and start planning! Think that would probably happen in Autumn with costs and things and just do a cheap weekend in Edinburgh in July!

Are you boy’s going to the Dragons v Leinster match on Saturday?
It won’t be on the tv, all matches start at the same time and there’s nothing at stake, shame.

Made the bench. Pretty nervous now. Buzzing to have made the squad though. Never played an RAF Cup final before. Not too bad from three training sessions.
Pity you can't make the Heino, Kado

1. Fair enough Luck, I presume that whatever game RTE are showing they’ll at least be giving score updates on the Leinster game. I’d expect we won’t be sending over many of the big names. Probably a team like:
Moore – Dundon – Hagan
Flanagan – Toner
Ryan – Auva’a – Ruddock
Cooney – Madigan
Carr – O’Shea – Macken – Conway
D.Kearney
Cronin – White – VDM – McLaughlin – Jennings – McGrath – Reid – Hudson
No point in risking any injuries.

There's nothing to play for from Leinster's point of view, but we could really do with ending a disappointing season with a win.

Well done Rev, and morning all.
I'm on the way down to Ex for a couple of days. The Somerset Levels are just one massive lake, with a railway line running through it.
Pretty wierd experience.

Yes I'm going Saturday Kado. Pretty tempted to boycott it though after the way Jason Tovey and Martyn Thomas have been cast aside. The Dragons even have the brass to name them in the extended squad.
I'll be glad to see the back of this season from a Dragons point of view though.
Lucky, today 14:30. Travelling over now.
See you laters.
