With Lindsay I don't think he's got a lot up top - great carrier and strong in the scrum - he'll be second/third choice again at Wasps again next season, not sure he will kick on - Nathan Morris (who I think is in your team Pooly) is an altogether different matter, think he's very, very good.

If Flood doesn't start against Boks I'd be gutted as an England fan. Farrell offers little going forward, we will not beat the Boks at the percentage game. That is their game and they're much better at it than us.

We need to play rugby and attack them, Flood is the 10 to do this.

Agree. Farrell is getting away with a limited game due to his age.

Age shouldn't come into it. Purely ability. Needs to stop kicking so much.

100% agree Steve, lad is a cracking talent. So much composure and no doubt he'll be England regular. But....he offers sooo little in attack.

Ashton/Foden hardly touched the ball during the 6N. Flood would give us that spark, form 10 in the AP. Farrell goes back to club and doesn't play 10. I'm so underwhelmed with Farrell at 10.

Flood surely has the shirt. I don't think lancaster will make many changes but he has to be one. Has been electric.

I am still unsure whether he is the long term future at 10. But undoubtedly the best option atm.

Wish you could merge Flood and Farrell's games - think if Flood had Farrell's mentality and kicking game he'd be a top, top international - same if you gave Farrell an attacking game.

Trouble you can see with Farrell is that he didnt play at 10 at all during the age grades, for Sarries etc until all the injuries for them forced them to play him there. He is growing into the position.

Still think England are really short of a WC no10.

Steven/Pooly do either of you think that Lancaster is the sort that will make those changes though? He seems really loyal to me and when a player wins the shirt it is theirs to lose.

Think Hodgson wont make the bench with Flood's form - would like to see Care involved, for me he's been best no9 in the country this season!

We're short of a world class 1-15!!!

We don't need world class individuals, we need a team that works together well. Farrell kicks at goal well but I don't think his kicking from hand is anything to shout about. Flood has really sharpened up this last 6 month, he has to start.

think we've got some top players - arent many better hookers than Hartley, may not run as much as he could but leadership qualities wont get beaten - Dan Cole could be WC, Ben Morgan and Tom Croft are very, very good - Ben Youngs - Tuilagi and Foden.

really feel we are short of a top class 10 - Flood does a job but pack has to go forward for him to play well.

Theres probably 2/3 better hookers in the BI's than Hartley Chris never mind world rugby.

Not many 10's are good on back foot, it's a special art. Sexton, Carter etc play usually behind dominant packs and fast ball. It's no surprise Sexton looks a different player for Ireland as their pack doesn't click as Leinster do

Cooper and Giteau in his prime are two 10's that could play off poor ball, only because their set piece was generally garbage. Ours isn't.

we have to start flood. hopefully with care.

wouldnt want matt jess in the squad. or topsy ojo. the way he is playing i would much prefer delon armitage. 4 tries in last 4 games on the wing has looked awesome. also prefer to see monye play than strettle. biggs isnt a bad shout, dont think he is int. class though.

Armitage has form
And is int class at Wing or fb.

Thing is with flood he will struggle as we need a 12 who offers something in attack. Our midfield will not work so if we want to play open rugby the midfield has to change.

As good a form as he is in I don't believe flood to be an international and think Farrell has more potential to be come truly international class

Flood was great with Hape at 12, he isn't exactly Sonny Bill. Allen & 36 are not all out attacking players either.

Flood is an International and has done it against the best in Aus/France, he's in the form of his life too.

I'm just serverly underwhelmed by Farrell and as an England fan and feel we need at FH like Flood to get our back 3 into play.

I liked Hape at 12 for England , he's got lovely hands and a nice little offload which probley would of worked better with Tuilagi than Mike Tindall did.

For me you need to go out and attack from the word off and have a 10 who will see the game out last 20 minutes which is why i think it should be Flood/Ford type player to start and then a points scoring machine like Farrell late on.

The Mail pretty much names the whole squad Mat.

Got a load of Quins players in there, Robson, Monye, Care.

Other youngster was Launchbury.

Lancaster's named the 42-man squad.

Shame not to see May in there, and for me, Monye is an odd inclusion. Good to see Kitchener get a chance, though I would rather have had Garvey in his place to be honest.

Here's the full squad:

Forwards (23)
Mouritz Botha (Saracens)
Dan Cole (Leicester Tigers)
Alex Corbisiero (London Irish)
Paul Doran Jones (Northampton Saints)
Phil Dowson (Northampton Saints)
Carl Fearns (Bath Rugby)
Joe Gray (Harlequins)
Dylan Hartley (Northampton Saints)
James Haskell (Otago Highlanders)
Tom Johnson (Exeter Chiefs)
Graham Kitchener (Leicester Tigers)
Joe Launchbury (London Wasps)
Joe Marler (Harlequins)
Lee Mears (Bath Rugby)
Ben Morgan (Scarlets)
Matt Mullan (Worcester Warriors)
Tom Palmer (Stade Francais)
Geoff Parling (Leicester Tigers)
Chris Robshaw (capt, Harlequins)
George Robson (Harlequins)
Matt Stevens (Saracens)
Thomas Waldrom (Leicester Tigers)
Tom Youngs (Leicester Tigers)

Backs (19)
Anthony Allen (Leicester Tigers)
Chris Ashton (Northampton Saints)
Brad Barritt (Saracens)
Mike Brown (Harlequins)
Danny Care (Harlequins)
Lee Dickson (Northampton Saints)
Owen Farrell (Saracens)
Toby Flood (Leicester Tigers)
Ben Foden (Northampton Saints)
Alex Goode (Saracens)
Charlie Hodgson (Saracens)
Jonathan Joseph (London Irish)
George Lowe (Harlequins)
Ugo Monye (Harlequins)
David Strettle (Saracens)
Manu Tuilagi (Leicester Tigers)
Jordan Turner-Hall (Harlequins)
Christian Wade (London Wasps)
Ben Youngs (Leicester Tigers)

Kitchener so lucky. Not a fan at all think he is built up something stupid.

Garvey has been playing back row for Irish so that may have something to do with it? He is unlucky. Understand May not being included though, perhaps a conditioning summer?

Garvey, May, Miller and even Brady and Biggs would have this a more exciting squad.

Goode has looked average this season which is more of a kick in the teeth to May and Miller.

I think it is a decent squad. I have always resisted the calls for May in the england side as he needs a season. I thought this trip may have been right but cant disagree with him being left.

Robson a great call and best 2nd row in the league this year on form. Dowson and Johson aere never going to make it so why???

Great call on Fearns and Wade

Thing with Goode is Lancaster knows him and knows he is sound with a good boot. Miller is still pretty fresh on the scene and with an unfasionable club.

Nothing can make up for Goodes lack of pace. really good club player though. very deceptive and elusive and stronger than he looks

I think it's Lancaster knowing players tbh. Read Goode was undertaking intensive sprint coaching, done Brown alright.

Still early for Miller, it's 1st season syndrome like you say Matt. Still an unknown on higher stage (HC etc). Next season will be key for some talented kids.

from that squad I presume the sides will be

1. Corbs
2. Hartley
3. Cole
4. Botha
5. Parling
6. Haskell
7. Robshaw
8. Morgan
9. Dickson
10. Flood
11. Strettle
12. Barritt
13. Tuilagi
14. Ashton
15. Foden

1. Marler
2. Mears
3. Stevens
4. Palmer
5. Robson
6. Johnson
7. Fearns
8. Waldrom
9. Care
10. Hodgson
11. Monye
12. Farrell
13. Lowe
14. Wade
15. Brown

Not at all convinced that the squad is very well balanced. Can't understand why a fetcher hasn't been taken

Don't think Strettle has done anything to deserve a starting place. Cant remember the last time he scored a try. Really not a fan at all.

We dont have a fetcher to pick. Armitage would have gone and probably started with Robshaw at 6 but is with Toulon still in playoffs.

Seymour would get murdered by Boks, nowhere near physical enough for that kind of challenge. Wallace again probably a season too soon but the experience would have been great for him.
