I think if they picked Armitage and then used him after the T14 play offs it would p-iss a lot of the players off out there who worked hard for the weeks armitage wasn't there and Lancaster know's he can't have clics and split opinions on long tours like this.

If Armitage is serious about playing for England again he'd come back , won't the RFU fund his wage like they have done with Morgan and Haskell?

Re: Homepage
I wouldnt rule out him returning to Irish after his contract with Toulon ends.
Don't think he would go to any other club in England.

Really surprised that Haughton and Baker are moving on, Haughton has been very good when he's played and for me was motm against Falcons.
Baker's a top talent, he'll go to a good AP team and do the same as Charlie Beech.
Again really not a fan of Dai Young - we'll replace them with Welsh players!

I can see Saints pipping Quins as they've come into good form - but can't see anyone beating Tigers atm. Overall Quins deserve it, that 14 game unbeaten streak at start of the season was just incredible

DOnt get why they dont take Easter when they select Waldrom? Not exactly as though the latter is a long-term solution for us.

I think Walds will be useful on hard pitches Chris, similar style to Morgan too so kind of suits whatever gameplan we're trying I guess

Re: Homepage
There is a logic to that. if we know our first choice is it best for the team to replace them with like for like so the team gets used to it rather than someone who may be a better player?

Re: Homepage
anyone see that SBW has been offered $1.5m a year to play for a team in Japan?
know we've done this subject to death, but never really warmed to Walds - think he's a very good player and part of the best backrow in the AP, but cant say I ever really like a guy who comes over late 20's and ends up playing for England - completely different when they are younger.
like the new cricket rule they are bringing in - can only play for England if you've lived in England for 7years after your 18th b'day - its 4years before your 18th b'day.

how many of our players are SA in the cricket side - sure its 4/5?
i would however have made an exception for Nick Evans for the rugby - if only he didnt get those AB caps!

Maybe 1 last chance from Edwards to prove his worth?! Certainly players in that Irish side who'll take none of his slacking.
Also: Pete, Chris and Matt, any chance you could do the awards by Sat night please? Some are quite close and would be good to get everyone's votes in!!

Two very contrasting styles, hope Quins beat them. See Flood hasn't made it in time and Ford is going to start, great opportunity for him.
Drew Mitchell back for Waratah's for SA tour, some comeback he was supposed to be out for year.

I think Quins will win, I'd have gone with Myler for this game myself, let Pisi and Foden create the chances and have him putting you in the right areas.

I think Flood could be the deciding factor. His absence will be vital. I've not seen a better 20 mins from a 10 as Hodgson played last week when he came on. He was ruining exeters defence.
Ford is good enough, but he will be playing a different game to Flood much more based on percentages.

I think Ulster and Quins.
Just seems to me like Ulster's year. Providing they are full strengh then I think they have a great chance.
AP could go anyway. I think Saracens will beat Leicester tomorrow though. Providing they get Nieto on sharpish to stabalise the scrum.

The Newcastle tackle on Robinson is up on RugbyDump now - guy doesnt even wrap his arms round him. TV cameras also dont pick up on the guy punching Vunipola - surely was a yellow?

Personally think it's a great tackle, Robinson ducks into it which makes it look worse as Tui can't get his arms round anything.
Having heard nothing of a punch just seen Vunipola coming in with a forearm.

Re: Homepage
Tui should have gone after the tackle, as just lost the plot - I saw him punch Vunipola right in front of the linesman, Falcons fans in front of me couldnt believe it wasnt a straight red for the tackle alone.
To get Waldouck wound up too and you know something's gone amiss!
Watching the game and couldnt believe how bad Wayne Barnes has got at officiating compared to how good he was - seen a few games he's reffed this year and always been disappointed in him.

He's a bit of a unit that bloke!
Robinson doesnt have much luck with getting smacked late - when I saw the Wasps v Saints game, Lawes got him with three giant hits, Mallinder took him off before he got sent off and threw on Manoa instead - first thing he did - poleaxe Robinson!

Personally I'd say.......high tackle, place onto citing (if in super 15) would not give the penalty to falcons as you can see tui is wound up and winding others up.
