The Dew Drop Inn ERC 2012 Commemorative Pub, Dublin
First topic message reminder :
Sláinte and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The Pub has followed the victorious Leinster team home after last week's Heineken Cup final for a liver-busting celebration.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the picture of the late Simon "Human Windmill" Pitney or those of all the HEC and Amlin Cup finalists.

I'd want a room with a full-size snooker table.

Yeah luckless I don’t like the idea of glass walls or anything.
I wouldn’t want a place to be that big, but I’d love a big attic with high ceilings and a view of a really nice park or something. I wouldn’t want to have to look after it but I’d like to be able to see it, so a park rather than a garden. I think Gibbo’s place overlooks a park…?
I wouldn’t want it in the sticks either, hidden behind some other houses near a main road.

I would saywell over 30 minutes, pool is a good laugh though. I also thought pool/snooker would be a weird way to teach people about maths. i.e. learning about angles etc.

I'd have a recording studio built. Sound-proofed, of course, so no one else has to hear my terrible music. It would be awesome to be able to buy whatever bit of kit you wanted.

Where's that berk Red Stag?
What do you make of this Tim Ryan? prop the Dragons have signed? Used to be involved with Munster. We've got him from Prato and a second row from Cornish Pirates. Suppose that's what our budget allows.

Morning all. Interesting question about the dream house Mickado.
Mine would be three floors, plus a cellar. It would have to include a large kitchen with all mod cons on the ground floor.
The first floor would be the entertainment complex with a snooker room, a cinema room with surround sound, and a rugby room (all with their own bar).
Bedrooms on the top floor, which would include an outdoor south facing pool area. The view would slope down to a meandering river (that doesn’t flood!) and scenic hills beyond.
Ideally it would also be fairly adjacent to this lot…

He wasn't good enough for the Munster front row. That should tell you all you need to know.

To be fair he actually turned in a top display against the All Blacks once and for about a week was the great white hope for the front row.

Mick - apparently SaintAndre signed him based on that match against the All Blacks. He realised he made a big mistake and swapped him for Carl Hayman from Newcastle. Then he went from Newcastle to played semi professional rugby in Prato in Italy.
Thats a massive fall from Munster/Toulon in the space of just two seasons.

Oh I know, i'm just twisting facts to suggest something that's not at all true. For the craic.
Like saying Jason Harris Wright was Leinster's second best hooker last year. He was but we were sweating every time we had to bring him on.

If I had a stupid amount of money, I'd build my dream house and then an exact replica underwater, so I could swim around my own house. I wanted to do that when I was younger.

Morning Swanny. Yeah, it's totally crass really.
Give me a nice country manor / homestead any day... a meandering river (like Hound's house spec) and views of distant mountains.
Oh... and a sanctuary for injured animals.

It looks like Mike Harris will be the Wallaby fly-half for the Scotland Test. He's special guest on the Rugby Show.
Mogg is also being talked about in glowing terms and may be the starting fullback. The team is named on Sunday.
They also had a piece on Scotland... training at Pittwater Rugby Park today.
Reminiscing on their victory in 2009 or whenever it was. Nice, well spoken bunch of blokes...good luck to them.
Michael Lynagh is on right now. He sounds fine. He says some movements are a bit slow but he's working on it and doctors are pleased with his recovery so far. Great to see him up and about.

Hi all,
I think the interview went well this morning, a tough 90 minutes of talking though, so I was an hour late for work (I overslept, if anyone asks)
Stephen Bachop may find his travel a little restricted in future

Re: The Dew Drop Inn ERC 2012 Commemorative Pub, Dublin
Right my gaf
You'd come in the double solid oak front door into the large hall,in front of you the wooden stair case to the upper level, on your left hand side has entrance to the bar room, in front of you is the pool table and dart board, the snooker table sits in the middle of the room in front of the open fire, to your right as you come in the door is the horse shoe bar fully stocked. The big screen comes out of the roof of course for all your sporting events. There is also arcade games on the corner.
As you go through the door at the bottom left corner of the room you come into the 20m pool, with hot tub steam room and sauna. There will also be a gym.
My kitchen will be the only modern decor in the house, and will be stocked as much as possible from the herb garden along the lines of Hugh Fernley Witherspoons on river cottage and from my hens and pigs I keep.
My underground garage would be stocked with a stupid amounts of cars and bikes. It'll will also have a band room just to mess about with.
Id have enough land to stick 5/6 holes on just so when I'm board I cab knock a few balls around.
Oh it'd also have a go kart track.
Havnt really given it much thought to be honest

Dream house eh? Would be the top floor of a building near the city centre, within walking distance of cultural centres.
I think I would have a soundproofed studio, spare bedroom, large bedroom with a desk and good speakers, kitchen and then a room with a sofa and a TV.
Basically, where I live now except bigger and two extra rooms (studio and spare bedroom).

A cool 1.85 million. Better by a couple of tickets!
Swanny, may main criticism is only the 6 bedrooms. That means at least two nights a week you have to sleep in the same bedroom. 2/10

I'd definitely want some land, not to farm, but so I could guarantee it would be wildlife-friendly. Like that 'set aside' scheme, except all the land would be set aside.

Large bits of the Ormeau Road aren't too bad. You're on a bus route to the city centre, walking distance from the University area. Most importantly- walking distance from Ravenhill!
