The Zone Virtual Sports Bar, Hamilton.
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Zone Sports Bar, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
This week the pub has set up in Sky City Hamilton, where the Crusaders take on the Chiefs in the Super XV semi final.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Bradley Wiggins, Ernie Els, Irene van Dyk, Sonny Bill Williams and his newly capped All Black team mate Sam Cane.

And if anyone's at a loose end in London on Sunday one of my workmates is selling a couple of tickets to the Judo finals. They're face-value £130 each, but she'll take £100 each - drop me a line if you're interested.

That's pretty bloody nice. They've already got the coolest badge going. I wonder why they picked the Zebra as their animal though, I mean, it's prey like...
Zebre was an invitational side for clubs in Northern Italy in the amateur era. It's nice that they are referencing that historical link.
If they can translate that strategy to rugby, they might be in with a hope! Hard to pick out the dummy runners from the ball carriers

It's weird, where I live in Devon, loads of the lads that many of you have met in the Culm Valley Inn have guns, mostly used for worrying (ie not hitting) pigeons and game birds, but all secured in locked cabinets in their homes and subject to an annual licence renewal check. But that seems a far cry to me from the fellas in the US who seem to view a weapon as some form of Winkle extension? Just don't get it, that is allrodders wrote:I would say that the fact that metal detectors are needed at all is a very big deal indeed. Especially in the land of the free and home of the brave.
Indeed. Dad has a licensed, securely locked-up single-shot .22 rifle. As kids we were taught gun safety, and allowed to shoot rabbits or possums (vermin!) on occasion. And if a sheep-dog's been run-over, and the vet is over 30 minutes drive away, a rifle is a much more humane solution than anything else. My school also taught clay-bird and small bore shooting - hunting wild pigs and deer is a fairly popular pastime. And my brother spends an hour or so of his working day in summer walking around the vineyard with a shotgun persuading the birds to get their breakfast/supper elsewhere.
Forgot to add that Dad had to shoot a couple of stray dogs that were savaging sheep once too.
That said, I can't see too many justifications for owning an automatic rifle, or a hand-gun.

Guns and IRFU central contracts. Two of the worlds great evils.

The fact therefore that an automatic rifle may be needed to sort out the IRFU poses a great moral dilema.....

A belated morning all.
At last a day of sunshine and blue sky. I'm inside so I'm not sure what the temperature is like.

Re: The Zone Virtual Sports Bar, Hamilton.
Ulster have Glasgow away in Round 2 and Saints away in Round 3. Two massive away games, back to back.
Assuming we get a win in Round 1 over Castres- a dangerous assumption, taking nothing for granted but we should be able to win at home given our strong home record and their spotty away record- we'll either be up against it at the mid point or the hard part will be done.
Its a tough draw. 2 defeats away from home would leave us in all kinds of difficulties. 2 wins? Achievable. And would make us heavy favourites... The interesting thing about Pool 4 is all the games are so finely poised and could go either way.

Haven't seen anything, but he didn't have the greatest season at the Blues, so is a fair way down the AB's pecking order for selection.

Oh aye, I think we can win both of those games though! And they'll both be very tight. Castres at home is a good game to start on and the double header with Saints will be epic!
Can't wait
Also, if Castres are out mathematically by the last two rounds we have an advantage going over there last as well.

Why not get the lads to travel to Exe in Jan? Our semi can't be at home in April, so best hold off on that one

Unbelievable day.
Made up for ya T. I know just how much your local club means to you. Wish there were more of you.
Love it, man.
To be honest, I didn't give a shoite about United, could have been any big side for me. Shows how far we've come as a club and that those long hours collecting, drumming up support and doing anything and everything to keep our club alive were worth it. We got close to a sell out crowd (one section of a stand had to be closed unfortunately) played some very nice stuff and more or less schooled the united youngsters, best thing was nearly everyone playing was from Cork, we only had 5 first teamers start (all went off before or after 1st half) and we may have seen the next City player who may be off to England judging by his superb performance. Some triallists featured too and the other night in another friendly.
Not the most important match of the week for us (Shelbourne on Friday), but it is a big boost to the coffers, we made over 40k easily last night. Some lads were asking their dads to go again as I left. That was the main goal of the evening, to provide a good atmosphere top notch football (we won 2-0 so not bad) and make people want to come back. If we get 2500 or so for Shels on Friday we are on our way.

Why not get the lads to travel to Exe in Jan? Our semi can't be at home in April, so best hold off on that one
Right you are sir. January it is!!

My headphones came with a rediculously long cable, kept getting caught in the zip of my jacket. So with an (expired) Quinn Healthcare card, and a pair of paper clips, i fixed them up. BOOM...

I do bring them up through my jacket (when I wear one) but I’m still left with about a meter and a half of cable swinging around getting caught in junk.
You can buy a thing to shorten your cable online but I fancied making one myself.

I'm looking to become the next Mcgyver As. Only my cobbled together inventions would just make the commuted moderately more bearable.

Ah right, fair play though, nice little thing to have done. Like the whole enterprise thing you got going. Any chance you will be on Dragon's den with it? Production costs might be high I'd say!
But seriously you'll be an imagineer for Disney in no time what with that creativity and execution.
