Olympics Day 11 - Page 6 Empty Olympics Day 11

Post by Dave. Mon 06 Aug 2012, 9:52 pm

First topic message reminder :

Yesterday our showjumpers were golden. Also, King Kenny ruled the track. Now it's over to Sir Chris, Princess Laura and can Queen Victoria have a victorious curtain call on her cycling career?

Also, brothers Brownlee go for Triathlon glory and our Dressage team are in action, going for Gold!

If all goes right, today's the day we beat Beijing and do the 20.

Dave.

Great to see my second fav sporting nation getting a bit better- Aus are no fun when they are to easy to beat. rugby, cricket, olympics, golf, football, its all getting abit easy- they need to sort it out!!

He shouldn't really have been disqualified from the event in the first place, it's only because his federation was so incompetent to pull him out of the race that he ended up throwing it.

That reminded me of Rachid Ramzi from 2008. We all know what happened there.

The whole 'not trying' business aside, that was the sketchiest thing I've seen this whole Olympics. Not even the Chinese swimmers or Belarussion Shot Putter can come close to that.

Dodgy dodgy dodgy.

The only reason others have a chance v bolt in the 100 is the false start rule. he may get a bad start. in 200 there is no pressure- he can chill out and then bust em up.

The guy had a lot of energy and inevitability about it afterwards. Brendan Foster or Steve Cram, 1 of them were really skeptical about his easy win in the semis.

Too early to tell for me.

Shot putter was definitely on fire shall we say.

Because the British guy won? I didn't think it was that bad of a decision, close fight, close score. Evans nicked it.

Seen far worse 'joke decisions' even tonight.

Yeh I had Evans marginally nick it based on the cleaner punching.

I have to say it is worrying that all of our guys seem to tire in the final round...I could understand if they were boxing 3 minutes every day but they have a couple off inbetween fights...

They certainly wouldn't last long in Prizefighter..

It is also frightening to see how lazy they get when they are in front...Evan's was content to run in that final round and then in those last 30 seconds he stood in front of his man...postured and didn't even throw a punch....it is a shame Rob McCracken is not allowed in the corner because he would be having none of that.

I'm not sure any of our lads are good enough to win a gold if im being honest. Think a couple of Bronze and couple of silvers will come our but that's it.

The french guy losing in the boxing was a poor result.

Great to see Michael Conlan qualify for at least a bronze.
