The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Sea of Tranquility, Luna
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made its way to the Moon, in honour of the late Neil Armstrong. One small step for man ...
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Lance Armstrong in yellow, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin moonwalking, or the shot of Joe Ansbro breaking the line.

How long has that taken Stag?
From conception to it going live took about 5 weeks of work (plus another two that I was on holidays for when nobody was working on it)

Kiwi, still no news of it here. Maybe there'll be an announcement in the morning if it is indeed true.
Stag... is that the same website next to your profile? If so - it looks great.
Fine thanks Thomond. How are you?
Just watching some of the Pak-Aus match at Sharjah. It's like walking into a lion's den if you ask me (playing cricket in the UAE.)
Doing OK though, Pak 30/2 and Pattinson on fire but don't like our chances really playing only one spinner.

Thanks mate but maybe you'd need separate buses. Could be expensive.
(I'll forward it to an influential mate who happens to represent half the Wallabies though)

Ozzy, I thought I cc'd you in on the PM I sent Stag last night, will forward it now.
For the Curry Cup and NPC I'm planning just a couple of sentences on the points tables to date. Plus possibly a mention that the mighty Tasman Makos challenge Taranaki for the Ranfurly Shield on Saturday.
Stag, have you added me on Skype yet?

I don't like it if it's that double header. Don't see the benefits to the Dragons at all, especially as we technically lose home advantage.

I read about this yesterday. I think it's a fantastic idea, and will be well supported if the ticket prices are competitive. STHs should get free entry.
The plus point is all four clubs can claim the total attendance towards their season's average.
The AP clubs have been doing this with the LDH for years.

Yeah I see how Dragons are going to get a bumped up gate for this season with it.
Whilst Dragons season ticket holders do get free entry to it this season, they do have altered travel plans (an added expense), have to drink in a city which will undoubtedly raise beer prices like they do for internationals etc and we will undoubtedly lose out due to the lack of control we have over where we will be sat (thus diluting the home atmosphere further, regardless of increased "away" Scarlet support).
It's no hardship for me really (in fact it's probably easier for me to get to Cardiff instead of Newport), but our support from Newport luck out by having to travel when they normally don't.
Though I'm basically moaning for nothing, as I'm in Afghanistan for it anyway

I think that's a brilliant idea. Its just what the Regions need to help get their respective arses in gear.
Huge day out for all Welsh fans and being a regular PRO12 fixture, it will grow and grow in importance. It will feed the rivalry and will get more fans out of their armchairs.
Look at the yearly Leinster v Munster PRO12 games in Lansdowne- pre HC kick-off. 50,000 sellouts now. Used to be 500 - 1000 sellouts.

50k+ crowd at the MS for it I reckon Gibbo. It probably won't boost attendances at the Regional grounds in the long run; unless the Regions are allowed to have a presence (stands with merchandise and signing up new STHs etc.).
The layout of the MS could lend itself to that, from the north and south entrances.

Folks, some of you will know that my nephew is an under-age ice hockey player. He has been nominated as a Nekoti Sherwood Ambassador and needs votes.
His name is Chris Boyd, he is my sister's youngest and the sacrifices she has made to help him have been nothing short of phenomenal. If he is successful then he gets sponsorship for the season.
If you are on Facebook and wouldn't mind clicking on the link, go to "Vote Now" and scroll down to Chris Boyd and vote.
https://www.facebook.com/NekotiSherwoodAmbassadorProgramme (Click on the Vote Now button and scroll down to Chris Boyd)
Chris Boyd
Aged 14
Goalie
Junior Belfast Giants
Chris started playing inline hockey when he was 7 years old. When his first team Ballymoney Badgers folded after just a year he moved to the Northern Cyclones where he will play his 7th season this year.He travels 130 mile round trip every Saturday to train and the same journey on game days During his time with the Cyclones he has helped his teams win the leagues and playoffs every year at every age group! Two years ago he became the first goalie in the history of the N Ireland leagues not to concede a single goal (in the u12 league.) 3 years ago Chris joined the Junior Belfast Giants and has been training faithfully every week. Again he travels over 120 mile return journey for every training session, which is twice a week. In total he travels nearly 400 miles every weekend to train for both inline and ice hockey! Every Friday night, Saturday morning and Sunday afternoons are taken up during the hockey season. If all goes well he and his team mates will be travelling to Scotland every month to join the Scottish ice hockey league which will require more dedication for a boy who suffers badly from travel sickness. Last year Chris represented Great Britain in u12 at the AUU Junior Olympics at inline hockey in Anaheim, Los Angeles. He is the only boy in his town who plays hockey and last year was a finalist in his local council's Young Sportsperson of the Year award. Junior Giants are the only ice hockey team in N Ireland so it was only this year that we have been able to organise friendlies and attend tournaments in Scotland. In his first competitive game Chris was awarded man of the match. He 'played up' with the u16 team in his first ever tournament and was awarded Goalie on the All Star Team. The under 14 team played in two Scottish tournaments and again Chris was awarded Goalie on the Dream team in Ayr and was also asked to 'guest' in the final for Ayr as their goalie became unavailable. Chris is a very quiet unassuming boy, he is very well liked and respected by all his teammates and coaches. Hockey, both inline and ice are his life, he sacrifices a lot of time to get to training - an hour's training can take up to 4/5 hours including late nights. He never complains or doesnt want to go, he just quietly gets on with it. I would love Chris to get the chance to become a Sherwood Ambassador, it would help him promote the sport that he loves and would give him a financial boost. It would also be great to see Northern Ireland being represented as although both sports are very minority sports here, those kids involved play with passion and drive.

I've tweeted it to my two nearest pro Ice Hockey teams the Guildford Flames and Bracknell bees to get them to vote and RT it for the followers to vote as well. I'll see if they have Facebook pages to put it on too.
