Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The Pub has made its way to the Moon, in honour of the late Neil Armstrong. One small step for man ...

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Lance Armstrong in yellow, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin moonwalking, or the shot of Joe Ansbro breaking the line.

The driving range out the back is impressive though. Just remember the Eagle lander is out of bounds.

Don't particularly approve of having Lance Armstrong up on the wall but hey ho.

Not actually that far. Alan Shepard hit 2 balls using a 6 iron head attached to a sample collection rod. He was swinging one handed, restricted by the suit. One shot was duffed just a few yards, the second went somewhere between 200-400 yards. Though theoretically a drive of a couple of miles is possible. You're probably going to land in a sand trap though.

If you listen to reports Hoog, Armstrong always had notice before he was drugs tested, plenty of time for him to alter things shall we say.

Also in the time he won his 7 titles, all his main competitors tested positive, it would be beyond baffling if he was completely clean. You'd like to think he is but I dunno.

Added to that no one knows the medication he was on when being treated for cancer, what long term effects they had on him.

I don't agree with how this whole case about him has been conducted, but it certainly isn't a clear cut.

All it's doing is putting cycling's name through the mud again Sad

Ah don't get me wrong Shovey I 100% believe he was doped up to the eyeballs just like everyone else, but bringing it all up 10 years later is pointless and all it will do is negatively effect his ability to raise money for charity.

It's a no win situation for everyone

The guy is loaded Hoog, he should just give all his winnings to charity, and he's so famous I don't think it will affect his ability to raise money for charity all that much.

It could perhaps be a result for cycling in the long term (obvs not right now), if the evidence produced does prove he was doing drugs, if only to cement the fact that cycling is completely anti-drugs now.

It's much cleaner now than it was ten years ago Hoog. Don't for one second think they are all clean, but testing has improved so much, there's no where near as many cheating as there was. Still a long way to go for it to be fully clean though (and I doubt it ever will be).

Logic also points to improved technology, dietary requirements, improved training regimes etc etc.

I read somewhere that bizarrely his charity raised $20m yesterday (or something like that) - perhaps by not contesting USADA's decision, it may remain unproven in the minds of many potential donors
