The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Sea of Tranquility, Luna
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made its way to the Moon, in honour of the late Neil Armstrong. One small step for man ...
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Lance Armstrong in yellow, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin moonwalking, or the shot of Joe Ansbro breaking the line.

Ha, now that's I think the one card game I don't know how to play. I bet I'd love it though, the whole poker face thing, I'd most likely be up against my eldest brother-in-law who is like a drooling dog when he has a good hand!
How's the cough now?

No real change yet, last night my flatmate was threatening to frogmarch me to the doctor again today. Basically I have a long coughing fit every hour or so, and some of them make me start choking for air and go bright red.
I'm an ok poker player, I managed to win the last tournament we had at work.

Didn't I hear you're 'naturalised' now, Pete? How does that feel?

Kiwi when you get the coughing fits do you have the use of an inhaler?
Should help a bit. I would ask the doc for a prescription.

You need to be careful with the inhalers, Rava. Have you seen The Hand that Rocks the Cradle?

Not yet. End of November, so I still have time to develop a pommie accent .
Rav, I'll have to look into the inhaler idea. After a bit of time trawling through various "symptoms for hypochondriacs" sites I have suspicions about it being whooping cough.

If you think it's whooping cough you better get to the doc.
My sister had a cough recently which sounds similar. Doc gave her the anti-biotics and an inhaler. Sorted in no time.

Pete, aren't you vaccinated against whooping cough? It's treated with antibiotics anyway

If you have a chronic cough that is affecting your daily life, you've got to go to a doctor, Pete. Just to be safe and they can fix it pretty quickly probably

I got given an antibiotics prescription on Wed. But I saw the doc in the morning (which is usually better coughwise than afternoon) and I think the doc thought I was being a bit drama queen. If it is whooping cough the antibiotics should kill off the bacteria, but the cough lasts until the damaged cilia in the lungs grows back.
I thought I had been vaccinated, though the vaccination program in NZ had issues back in the day. Back in primary school my entire class got measles, and they worked out it we'd all received vaccine from the same batch in the late 70s

Hospital medicine, currently Neuro is the most attractive, but Paeds and some other bits look good too. Won't know till I've tried a few things

6N time I think I heard. Mayo bottlingit v Dublin. Will end in a draw to boost the GAA coffers though. Mark it.

23 men? Why would you say that? I would have thought it ends any chance of uncontested scrums.
GAA and Mayo did their best to turn it into a replay but Mayo take it. They will get killed by Donegal.

It helps player safety a lot, and would stop the eventuality you saw when England absolutely massacred your scrum in last year's 6N though MGTGOG!

Big win for Mayo. I'd like to see Donegal win. They played some cracking stuff in their semi.
I haven't seen any uncontested scrums at international level for a long time.

Do not mention that game again Munsty. You think Deccie is clueless. Counihan is as bad,. How you get to the top of GAA management and don't know how to beat a blanket defence I don't know. Two ways to do it. Low and fast with guys running off or pass and move while drawing the man like in rugby. Donegal were superb but that was diabolical from Cork. Counihan has had the best squad in the country for 3 years and has only won AI that is aboslutely pathetic.
On the rugby side, I don't think it will make much of a difference either way to be honest.
