The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Sea of Tranquility, Luna
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made its way to the Moon, in honour of the late Neil Armstrong. One small step for man ...
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Lance Armstrong in yellow, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin moonwalking, or the shot of Joe Ansbro breaking the line.

Morning PJ, mornign any lurkers.
Bright, sunny, but feicing cold here this morning. Still, the domestic rugby season begins tonight in the Rabo, so can't complain. Anyone (Thomond) know where one might be able to watch Treviso vs. the Hairsprays this evening?

bore da pawb.
I had one of those nights where instead of feeling like you've slept, I feel like my eyes have only been closed for about 5 seconds. Sleeeepy.
Still, bacon sarnie for brecwast from the bakery next door, pretty good start to my Friday..
I shall get the on.

Bore da pawb / good morning all - a beautiful morning here actually, a hint of autumn in the air and autumn is a heartbreakingly beautiful time of year.
Ozzy, you should be able to watch the Treviso - Ospreys game on the BBC website.

Cheers luckless
There has just been a conversation about the paralympic swimming in my office that has had me in stitches…
"Saw the paralympic swimming last night, was amazing, there was a girl with no arms who won the back stroke beating swimmers with arms, just amazing. I can't believe that she can swim so well with no arms."
"Well dolphins don't have arms and they can swim"
Queue me in hysterics about about the comparison between a dolphin and a person with no arms.
I'm guessing it was one of those you had to be there things, but I thought I would share!

I'm not bothering with Sportsguru this year. I kept forgetting to make my picks and they were usually wrong when I remembered, so I'm staying out of it.

I've done the same with Fantasy Football Luckless. I found I didn't enjoy the matches I just wanted my players to do well.
Mick - WTF how did that happen. Bit of "rough housing" with the missus?

What do they do for broken ribs? Put a plastercast over your torso?

They don’t do anything for broken ribs, they just give pain killers. They used to put a brace on people but that was causing them to die, apparently.
Stag, I made a spectacularrrrrrrrrrrrrrr (roll the R like a Spaniard) save in the human Fussball arena last week and landed on a little stone with my arm outstretched and my rib cage exposed. Not quite as salacious as a “rough housing with the missus” injury I suppose…

I've never broken a bone - of my own. I had to have stitches in my head after hitting it on a radiator when I was about seven, that's about it; but I broke my older sister's finger (front door) and my youngest sister's thumb (car door).

Im the same Lucky. I have taken several bangs to the head. I once took such a hit to the face playing touch rugby on the road beside my house that when I staggered inside my mother assumed I had stuck a novelty joke bump on my head.

I should add that I didn't mean to break my sisters' digits.

It's just such an unnecessary expense isn't it, Penfro? Although it was funny during the Olympics when she'd hand back to Lucy Owen in Cardiff, who you could tell was jealous as hell!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Sea of Tranquility, Luna
Good morning everyone.
Last day of winter here. Nice sunny morning but a chilly cold front came through late this afternoon. Must be something to do with the blizzards in Victoria and southern NSW... lots of snow down south this year.
I'm sitting out Sportsbru / Fantasy League this year too. I've only ever seen about 5 minutes of highlights of Rabo/Heino/Amlin.
We get all the Top 14/Currie and ITM Cup matches though. I had signed up for the Jeff and Top14 tipping but felt it was too much and bailed out.
I seemed to spend hours opening emails on a regular basis and then making all the picks. I was doing 6 or 7 comps at one point in time. Way too much! The Premier League ones were relentless.
I'll still keep an eye on what's happening but I do enjoy reading all of your comments.

Sure you didn't Lucky
Morning all, back at work today (unlike that slacker Hoog). Voice of pure gravel still, but coughing is not as often, and a lot quieter.
On the plus side, I managed to randomly channel surf onto the Paralympics yesterday to twice perfectly catch Sophie Pascoe breaking her own 200m medley world record. Considering she and her coach had to relocate from Christchurch last year to be near a non-earthquake damaged pool for training a gold medal is a great reward.

This is WELSH countryside. We burn holiday homes and vote independent or old fashioned liberal round here, OK?

Nothing more than a light breeze today (21kph) with sunny intervals
Bit more blustry (blowing a blydi hoolie infact) yesterday. Team Wales, with olympic silver-medallist Hannah Mills, were dismasted More HERE

Can't say I'm surprised. The signs were there during the JP Morgan 7s.
Ive backed them to beat Sarries in Superbru.

I think teams who want to keep the ball alive and thrive on a high paced game will enjoy the new laws that have come in. Might talk about it on next podcast.
