Senior Squads wrote:
The maximum squad size is 40 senior players. If a team has more than 40 players in their squad then they will be fined £1 million per player over the permitted amounts per day for the first seven days. If after 7 consecutive days a team still has more than the permitted number of players then the team will be fined £2 million per player per day, and fined 1 league point per player per day for the next seven days. If after this time a team still has more than the permitted number of players in their squad, the RFU (me) will remove players at it’s discretion to bring them back under the permitted numbers. There will be no right of appeal to players being removed.
Be aware that all tier one international matches which are played during the season will count in the game, and players selected in the matchday 22's for those matches will not be eligible to play for their clubs on that weekend, therefore you must give due consideration to the make up of your squad.
Academy Rules wrote:
Each team will be allowed to have a listed senior academy squad of 20 players. Players who are in the senior academy must be under 22 years of age as of 1st September 2012 (therefore must have been born on or after 1st Septmber 1990). Players who are under the age of 20 (so born after 1st September 1992) AND are in the academy of the club that you are managing in real life, DO NOT need to be listed as senior academy players as part of your 20, but are available to you in this game and cannot be poached by other clubs without paying you a fee.
Should a player not listed in your 20 senior academy players, but part of the clubs academy in real life move clubs in real life, then you will have first option of promoting him to your listed senior academy. If you choose not to take this option he will become property of the club that he moves to in real life in this game.
Transfers wrote:
- Domestic (other AP Teams)
Each team has a budget to use in the purchase of players. Domestic transfers between AP clubs, regardless of nationality of player, should be negotiated between the respective managers, and then confirmed on the Domestic Transfer Confirmation Page.- Domestic (Championship and below)
Each team may during the season purchase no more than 3 players from the Championship or the National Leagues. These players must be bid for on the Championship/National League bidding page, and each bid will be considered by me on it's own merits before being accepted or rejected. No bid will be accepted until a minimum of 24 hours has elapsed from the time the bid was made, in order to afford other managers the opportunity to make a counter bid.- Foreign
To make a foreign transfer (i.e from any club outside of the AP, regardless of whether the player is English) a bid should be made on the Foreign Transfers Page, which will be considered by me against the posted guidelines for purchase prices before being accepted or rejected. No bid will be accepted until a minimum of 24 hours has elapsed from the time the bid was made, in order to afford other managers the opportunity to make a counter bid.
Foreign transfers will unlimited during the off season and 2 during the season. The exact dates of the two transfer windows during the season is to be confirmed.
Player Releases wrote:
Managers may choose to release players from their clubs, for which they will be offered compensation
Compensation will be paid as follows
£2 million – current international (must have played international rugby in the previous 12 months)
£1.5 million – former international
£1m – top flight experience
£0.5m – other
If a released player plays in real life for a team outside of this game he will be deemed to have returned to that team. If not then he will be deemed to have signed for a Championship side. If another manager wants to pick a released player up, they will have to bid for him in the same way as for a foreign or Championship/National League player.
Retirements wrote:
There will be no compensation for retiring players. Should a player who retires decide to come out of retirement and play again, then he will automatically go back to the club who he was playing for in the game when he retired.
Fixtures wrote:
There will be 22 Aviva Premiership games per season, plus the play offs. There will also be Heineken Cup, Amlin Challenge Cup and Anglo Welsh Cup matches. These games will take place once a week. A thread will be put up for managers to name their teams on Thursdays, then on Fridays, managers will post the scores that they think will happen from these games (apart from games in which they are involved). An average of all predictions will be taken, and then 0.5 points added to each teams score for each prediction that had them as the winner, and that will then be the final score.
Teams wrote:
When naming your team, not only should you put the starting XV and replacements, but also tactics that your team will employ. Results will be affected by the tactics described.
In addition, each team must have the following:-
At least 10 England qualified players in your matchday 23, and at least 5 of those must be in your starting XV.
At least 2 props and 1 hooker on the bench.
All players must be eligible (not injured or banned).
Failure to comply with these rules will result in forfeiting the match and a 1 league point deduction.
If you fail to submit a team for a match, then the other team will be automatically awarded a 30-0 bonus point win. If both teams fail to submit a team, then it will be scored as a 0-0 draw.
Injuries and Suspensions wrote:
Injuries in this game do NOT reflect real life, they will be generated by me.
Players banned in real life will be ineligible for selection in this game for the duration of the ban.
Inclusion of injured/banned players will result in them being replaced by players on the bench, and the bench not having eight players, which may result in punishment if it concerns the front-row.
Punishment for fielding an ineligible player will be loss of one match point for a first offence, two for a second offence and so on.
Financial Rewards wrote:
There will be no rewards for the result of an individual match, instead the managers will receive cash for predicting.
£1.5m for descriptive predictions
£0.25m for scores on the doors predictions
If you fail to predict without first advising me that you are unable to do so that week, you will be fined £1m for a first offence, £2m for a second offence, £3m for a third offence etc.

He will def start for them until December, as they have got a load of injured backs at the moment. Never sure what I make of Racing as a team, they seem to have some very good players and a lot of money to invest, but not sure how good they actually are as a team.

Had exactly the same teams Nick - Ulster could be outsiders again, can't see any English teams as we just dont have the depth - Leicester might, but need all their top players uninjured and playing very well.
Quins are a great team, but if Evans gets crocked they really can struggle and lack direction. Evans best player in the AP?

Read that today Luke, think it's only for a few games though. He had at least another 2 years in him if he'd have signed for Toulon.

Not sure if Goode has the pace and attacking threat to become a top international 15 - real classy player, he just needs to get the same speed coaching that Brown has got as that used to be his problem.
I'd probably look at
11. May
14. Ashton
15. Brown
Wade has been sensational this season, but iliking how much Varndell has come on.
A guy that is really impressing me week in week out is Daly though, definitely making the Wasps 13 shirt his own!

Daly out played Joseph last week. Joseph has looked so quiet this season, doesnt seem to want to run it. Wish he would!
Varndell has been brilliant Chris. Looks stronger and better in defence, whilst still scoring tries.

Daly is a very clever player, could probably do with bulking up that bit more, but his boot is such a weapon as he can nail kicks from 55metres.
JJ needs the Irish pack to go fowards again, can't help playing outside Tagi at the moment - your injury list seems awful.
I've seen Wasps play twice so far this year and Varndell has really upped his game, still only 26 I think too!

Tagi is now injured Chris so he is added to the list.
However, Garvey and Humphreys back now, Geraghty almost back, Yanuyanutawa has arrived now (anyone seen his youtube video squatting something like 280kg?!) which should help. Hala'ufia and Corbisiero not too far away and Paice back from ban next week, things can only get better.
Varndell continues this form then Lancaster cant ignore him. Has looked better than Sharples and May for me so far this season.

Re: Homepage
That's an impressive injury list Nick - found at Wasps last season that we got more and more injuries because our squad got so depleted that half our team played with small injuries that then became bad ones. I think at one stage our 'a' team had more players from London Welsh in it on loan then it did Wasps players and then we had to stop playing 'a' league games as we only had 21 first team players available in the entire squad!
Varndell is playing very well, he must have 4 tries already, I've always really rated him, could certainly play his way into the England squad, but I'm not sure if he's even a Saxon? But Banahan is...

Imagine he's available for everyone Mat - unless Pooly has less than 40 players in his squad already.
How do you think you will go against Wasps this weekend? Should be a good game, hopefully a lot of tries with Wade, Varndell, May and JSD on show!

If a retired player returned to the game in the past he went back to his squad if he hadn't already been released so he should be Pooly's. Matt got Elisade back when he made his brief return so shoudnt be any different

Re: Homepage
To be fair it's a daft rule. If a player retires in real life he does not get paid. Therefore how can a club own him???
Servat may have been a shadow of himself last year but would still get a bench spot on some teams.
To have him frozen out is weird. Pooly should be given option of adding him to his squad or releasing him and getting the 2 million.
Helps make sides more even

Personally think retirement due to injuries or else should be 5 mill and due to age nowt.
Ulster for example will receive money for the horrendous death of spence and wasps would have received cash for Rees

Re: Homepage
In real life he's went onto coach at his club side (same here).
If he decides to come back to play he's not going to come back and play for Clermont or Bayonne, it'll be Toulouse(which he has).
I can't see the issue, hes only coming back for a few games and I'm not putting him in my squad.

How's he been looking SJE/Prop? Seems a big unit at 12 for a 20yo, only seen him a few times.

Hes been alright for Ulster Pooly but I wouldn't say hes been pulling up tree trunks. Its his first real consecutive run in the side though. Think you will be happy to hear Jared Payne has been magnificent though
Its an odd training squad when the likes of Keatley, Madigan, Jackson, Gilroy, Downey don't make it but Iain Henderson who has only played 1/2 senior games before gets in. All 5 of them are playing very well particularly Gilroy and Madigan

Training squads are often a chance for young players to experience set up. Has gilroy ever been in Ireland squad ?
Good prospect immensely raw but really skilful and talented. Worth bringing him on and looking at him. Trimble not an international and bowe out of form although top class so Ireland could do with another option.
Love earls but think he is gets moved around too often and should be left to concentrate on one positon

He was involved with Ireland v the Baa Baas at Kingsholm during the summer. Scored two cracking tries in that one. Hes been the form Irish winger for the last year or so so quite surprised he isnt getting a look in.
Think Henderson has been brought in because theres a few injuries with POC and Toner not fit so they needed someone for the lineout drills. Will be a great experience for him though!
Payne playing some good rugby. Looks like he hasnt been out at all. Munster and Ulster playing some great attacking rugby at the start of the season. Was a cracking game between the two of them last week!

Thing with Earls is hes international standard at centre, wing and fullback so will always be the easy option when it comes to who to shift around. Always thought hes best on the wing used as a finisher and someone to come in as an extra carrying option in midfield as I thought his passing was a bit limited but hes throwing some cracking passes in recent games.

Think earls is int winger but def not fb. A decent 13 but his defence lets him down there. He is a good defender but being moved around all time hurts him.
Same with Joc who gets it all wrong defending at 12 despite being a good defender. 12 is Jocs position they need to play him there constantly or wing. Australia risk ruining the most talented player I have ever seen.
Earls is also ridiculously talented but suffering from being shunted around. England and leicester did same to healey who was a top winger
