Conspiracy theory - Saints are tanking the year to get a top 3 pick so they can pick a real pass rusher

Don't rush to bench Vick. He's been pretty horrendous with the ball but you can't throw in a mid-late round rookie who has never thrown a pass

I can't be the only Skins fan thinking we have to go D with at least 1 of our first 3 picks next year? We seriously need either a good DL pass rusher or more likely a top notch DB.
Speaking of which, Saints need a whole new defense...

BENCH THE MAN...
The only FF game I might win this week (keeper) is riding on the Cardinals not getting bazillions of points!

Vick: 19 pass attempts, LeSean McCoy: 4 carries. Andy Reid going to the Cam Cameron playbook today.

Re: Week 3 discussion thread
Nick Foles was the man in form in preseason and in just about any other sport the person if form would start.
The Eagles could have easily been 0-2 this season. Vick's kamikaze football will not win anything. Surely 24-0 down is the time to give your rookie QB a run out. Plenty of mid-draft QBs have gone on to be successful.

I will be surprised if you don't win it. I would need another 25 points in the 2nd half from the Cardinals defence to have a chance. They will surely finish on less than 25 points and you still have Ryan, Gonzalez playing and Rice and Welker to come.crazy_dave23 wrote:crazy_dave23 wrote:Don't rush to bench Vick. I know I should win the Keeper game.... I'm just getting tense because aside from my keeper team I'm absolutely sucking this season (probably the best team to have work out though as I get to keep some of it!).
I know I started bad with the San Fran Trams last year and made the playoffs, but whilst that was happening I was going 12-2 and 13-1 in my not 606v2 leagues! This year i'm, 1-1 in the West and my team sucks due to injury, 0-2 in one of my others and certainly going 0-3

Well we got battered well and truly. Fumble at the half was killer
Fortunately you can only get 1 loss per game. Still 2-1, dust off and ready for the Giants next week.

Nope, you're not the only Skins fan thinking that skins4ever. Our secondary in particular is a trainwreck at the moment. Problem is of course, we have no 1st round pick next year with which to grab a really top notch player. We'll also still be struggling with the salary cap penalty thanks to the made up "spirit of the salary cap" rule so we might struggle to strengthen in FA.

Crazy end. Only good angle is the refs and he said in so I'll bow to his judgement.
Neither team looking that strong so far, a lack of pass rush from either team. Pats were efficient, but didn't really manage to push it down the field.

Re: Week 3 discussion thread
Not the easiest season to predict so far. I watched the entirety of Oakland/Pittsburgh and was pretty pleased to come up so big in the 4th quarter. The defense couldn't stop anything all day but came up with the turnovers to tip the game on its head. Even Carson Palmer is being praised now, after being pilloried so far.
There is life in the Raiders yet, but we desperately need a pass defense.

Great performance by the Cards -- Kolb looked sharp today and Fitz got going.
With Bush going out of the Jets game with a knee injury, I'm officially out of healthy RBs on my fantasy team (Forte and Stewart). Things are looking grim.

NFC West divisional games are going to be great tests, espeially now that Arizona looks like the main challenger over Seattle to the 49ers

Re: Week 3 discussion thread
The game last night, which should have been very enjoyable, was ruined by the officiating. I don’t totally blame the refs who, as Collinsworth said, are “trying their best” but they are waaaaaay out of their depth. The whole environment last night with the crowd noise, coaches and players (on both teams) pleading with them for calls, flags etc. They didn’t have a clue how to handle the game. I mean ffs the fact that Harbaugh got them to measure a spot which was like a full yard short of a 1st down was just ridiculous. We had Torrey Smith jerking his head around like he’d been pulled back by his hair when there was NO actual contact and DPI being called. I could go on, but I wont.

Re: Week 3 discussion thread
Actually, from the TV shots, it looked to me like Harbaugh was on the field of play waving his arms around, shouting at the refs. It was only after the flag was thrown that he signaled for a time out. Maybe he did signal for a TO before that and the TV didn't show it but it looked like he was just trying to bully/intimidate the refs.GSC wrote:Harbaugh getting a 15 yard penalty for trying to call a timeout was pretty funny

Yeah Harbaugh sort of made a fool of himself but at least he cares. I feel sorry for the refs, but if I were a player/coach, I'd be trying to bully them a little because they are obviously influenced

Replacement refs just cost GB a win definitively.
Blatant OPI and an INT by Jennings.
Not to mention OPI that turned into DPI on 1st and 30, and a roughing the passer on an INT.
Honestly can't blame GB for walking off, they were absolutely robbed.

Hate to ask, but I'm at work and can't watch any of the video highlights. What happened at the end of the Pack game with the hail mary?? Stats suggest pack were pretty dominated, and aren't clicking offensively at all. Is that just distorted?

I feel with the bad call on the Tate TD justice was done. The Packers had the most BS calls in their favour on their TD drive. The DPI on Chancellor was the worst DPI call ever and then the spot for the 1st down when Rodgers was clearly a few inches short on 3rd down.
Justice done. Seahawks deserve it on the 1st half performance. If the Packers oline plays anything like that against better teams they'd be a hell of a lot further behind than 7-0. Personally I can't wait until they come to MetLife, they look way more beatable than last year and we nearly got them.
Re: Week 3 discussion thread
bluestonevedder wrote:What happened at the end of the Pack game with the hail mary??
Wilson threw it into endzone, couple of Packers and couple of Seahawks jumped up. Jennings and Tate both grabbed it pretty much simultaneously (although Jennings had more of the ball). As they fell, Tate's right arm came away then back onto the ball.
Bit of a scrimmage on the ground, 2 refs run over, the look at each other, then both raise their arms together, one signalling TD, the other touchback..!!
I don't blame the field refs, but you would like to think the 10 mins of reviewing would of got the result correct in the end!

It's swings and roundabouts at the end of the day MockingJay. Any supporter from any team would behave in the same way if they felt their team had been unjustly treated. I can't comment any further, because I haven't seen the game, but it's natural for a fan to react like any Packers' fans have.

Shame about the ending, but I liked the class shown by Aaron Rodgers. Sacked 9 times and he just got back up each time and carried on playing. None of this Jay Cutler whining.
