Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
Foden for me is better. Better defence, as good in attack against the better defences of domestic european competition. Very easy to break the line in the S15 against anyone but the Reds, Crusaders and the SA teams. Beale is a better kicker and could do with scoring a few more tries. Foden is scoring lots of tries in big games of late (The last two Eng v France games, HC semi and Final etc)
Its very close but I'd take Foden

I personally don't think Foden is near Beale. Foden is quality and up there but fighting it out for second spot with a few others. I seem to remember Beale cutting Wales/England/France to shreads on a few occasions as well as S15 teams.

Force have been the better side , Liam Gill is having a quite game besides that cheeky kick at the scrum and being knocked in to July 2013 in the contact.
Rooting for a Force with Pocock being my favorite player in the world!

Aus backline for WC
9. Genia (c)
10. Cooper
11. AAC
12. Barnes
13. Faainga
14. JOC
15. Beale
Cooper will move to wing and AAC to 10 in defence giving Oz the most exciting running backline in the world and a stronger first ine of defence. They will certainly my 2nd team in the WC.
I reckon the pack will be
1. Robinson
2. Moore/TPN
3. Alexander
4. Sharpe
5. Horwill
6. Higginbottom
7. Pocock
8. McCallman
In the game both JOC and Cooper been excellent. Force are doing exactly what i suspected they would and are doing it well. Might run out of steam. Referee having a bad game. Morahan looking tired.

I think Gill looks a bit out of his depth, getting hammered at the breakdown. See that same team but with AAC at 13 and Iaone on the wing.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
I think Slipper might pinch the tight head jersey from Alexander.
Suits the Oz style a bit better. Pops up in the loose and midfield and scrummagers well. Don't think Deans will drop Rocky either despite how well Higginbottom is playing.

I completely forgot about Ioane. You could be right about that I knew I was missing someone. They might go with Ioane at 13 but suspect AAC.
I don't think Gill is out of his depth. Not making mistakes and is tackling very well. Remember he is against 4 wallaby backrowers

Not sure about Slippers scrumaging myself. reckon he is behind Alexander and perhaps even Dunning and Baxter (don't know if they've retired from internationals or not)

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
Baxter is retiring after the world cup , I don't think Dunning sits well with the Aussie management team. Plays very well and is ignored as Deans looks to the younger lads.
I think he scrummages pretty well for an Aussie , Foot works a bit off at the set up so he's initial hit isn't as good as it could be but has a pretty good technique about him self and i'v never seen him take a full on pasting in the scrum.

Can't see Alexander being dropped he's Aus best prop. Maybe move him to LH and bring in Slipper?
Yea Steve, Deans likes Ioane and he gives a bit of balance on the wing.
Destroying them at the breakdown. Gill can't compete, looks a bit lightweight.

Gill is lightweight he's only 19. Just like JOC is lightweight.
Liam Gill will become the best 7 in the world in my opinion. Same mould as Brussow but more physical.
How do you mean best 'back' Driver?

I don't know how you boys see these things lol. If I'd never heard his name before I wouldn't have even acknowledged him in this game apart from getting smashed and giving away loads of pens.
Still a young boy though but not ready for this level of game imo and he'll need to get past Pocock who's an absolute machine and only 3 years older?

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
I have watched the Reds religiouslty this year Pooly have missed one game. have seen him play and seen stunning potential. Today you and I have been watching a different game. Gill has been standing first receiver having just turning 19 and has been making yards as well as losing collisions as is expected.

pocock was my MoM. JOC did well but should have gotten himself into it more in the last 20 mins. May have been coaches call but you could see he was the real danger and should have been encouraged to be in the 3/4's more

He did seem to hang back a lot more than usual , think he saw more value in the extra couple of seconds on the ball from deep.
Pocock had a storming game. Showed a cool head when Sharpe went off as well. Nasty injury to suffer that though

Pocock and JOC outstanding, Cooper played well too. Sharpe will be a huge loss for Aus, great lineout operator, he's up there with Matfield and POC for me, cracking player.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
I don't think Sharpe will miss WC.
Sharpe is good as he has a physicality about his which isn't always there with the two you mentioned pooly. Horwill is getting near that level as well. Very much in Sharpe's mould. Few ore impressive games at the top level and he will be pretty close to that top 3.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
Gill wasnt out of his depth, thought he made some great tackles and good yardage - considering he was in Italy on Wednesday not a bad performance. Think he's a cracking player - the Aussies use their 7's team very well, he captained them last year and would have been captain of the u20s this year. It was only his 2nd start for the Reds too - amazing prospect and agree wtih Steven completely about him.
JOC is a very good player, but prefer Beale at fb, think he's got an incredible running game - the Aussies need to find JOC a position and stick him there, as he seems to play all over the park at the moment.

This is the second rugby game coming out this year. Developed in NZ so could be good. Seems to be Southern Hemisphere dominated

I thought as a stand alone performance Gill was poor. Put in that he's still a boy he done ok I guess. I don't think he looks anything other than a good prospect but others have seem more than me.
I think that's JOC's second game at FB all season and Beale is better. He's played most at 12 and looks very settled there, think he may line up for Aus there depending on injuries out wide.

Anybody know whats going on with Elsom? Is he injured, likely to make the world cup?
Read a few stories he's either going to the Waratah's or back to Europe but nothing about being long term injured.

Carter playing because Horne out with elbow again apparently it's not serious like last time. It's a strain and apparently shows it has healed as his injury to elbow was so serious last year.
Horne holds tahs defence together. Impossible to get past and defence captain. Just watching the games on replay after working on a saturday??? Would not recommend it first time I have worked a Saturday in years.
Been at the Ricoh arena in Coventry as a guest at a conference. Paul Grayson did a talk about vision and goal setting on stage before jack dee came on. Bizarre combination for a Lloyds pharmacy conference. Grayson talking about how parallels of rugby can be applied to retail pharmacy. Thought Grayson was involved with England u20s and was surprised not with the team. Evening then capped off with a specials tribute band. Glad I do not go to midlands often

Pooly, Elsom was meant to be out long-term injury but had a scan last week and they said he would be playing again in the Tri-Nations, right at the start of it. Sounds like he was a very lucky bloke as the injury should have ruled him out for 6 months, but only two months for him!
