The Dew Drop Inn Virtual La Botticella Pub, Rome.
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The pub has made its way to the historical city of Rome, the owner Giiovanni, is a Canadian-Italian, and welcomes all after a great day of rugby.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Tawera Kerr-Barlow, Dane Coles, Aaron Jarvis, Samson Lee and Schalk Brits up on the wall. Erm, actually there is a second rule. No elephants, unless they're Effervescing - we can't be barring a Chiefs fan

DOD went up hugely in my estimation when he sent a message for RAVA to put in the book of condolence for Nevin Spence.
Just was a lovely thing to do I thought.

Sin E makes me want to burn all my Munster shirts. I wish somebody would just ban him from the site.
But who has that power?!
DOD you know is a bit of a divil and plays it up to wind up people. Sin seems almost to be really like his online persona, as in- not necessarily putting on a persona!

I'm good thanks MrsP. Went shopping after work. Amongst other things, I got a tin of choccies in for Xmas (they're on special offer) but I'm not sure if they'll be around by Xmas Day... I've hidden them well away in the back of a cupboard I don't normally go in, but you know, a really big mouse could get in there and eat them all

To be sure...that was me Dominic Oliver Dreadnought.
I read stories about that tragedy in many media, and wanted to express my thoughts. I was very grateful to Rava for putting them in the book.

I should have realised Hound. I'm afraid the initals and the mention of 606 confused me.
Would you believe that poor family lost another member? About 2 weeks after the men died Nevin's aunt died very suddenly and unexpectedly.

Your not serious? Thats awful. We were only talking about this at work the other day. A neighbour of my colleage lost her father, her mother and her husband all separately, all of natural causes in the space of 3 months.

Done mate.
Off to the SCG for the warm up match. It will feel a bit weird without the Bradman and MA Noble stands.
I think the bits & pieces Australia A side will get hammered.
Oh, and good morning.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual La Botticella Pub, Rome.
I will echo those sentiments. There were lots of people over here (and not just rugby folk) who knew of the Spence family tragedy and were shocked.
Stag - that's awful to hear.
In many ways I'm fortunate that I don't have to fret about losing any more family members.
Ozzzy, good luck with the house thing. Don't overstretch yourself bud. By that I mean a 'top up' loan. They can be mega expensive in the long run.

After the Winter Internationals v Wales and the recent Rugby Championships I don't think Italy will hold as much fear for the Wallabies as it would for some of the lower ranked 6N teams.

Awful about another Spence family tragedy.
Went training in the end. Freezing cold and I got soaked through. Worth it though. Back with the firsts, which is nice as it's a home game now.

Milan is the clothes shopping city in Italy.
Mind you, I did comment on how stylish the Mogliano fans were, compared to us Wasps the other weekend. That didn't go down too well with my conpadres.
But it was true looking at our lot.

Did you hit the shops in Venice when you were over Hound?
I went on a day trip to Venice from Austria a few years back. My friend decided that it would be really convenient not to mention her deep fear of birds until we were on the far side of St Marks Square from where we were to meet the rest of our group!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual La Botticella Pub, Rome.
MrsP - I've been to rugby via Venice airport twice, but never did the tourist thing in the main bit. Some of our lot fly out on Friday and then back on Tuesday, and do that though.
Every rugby fan should try and get to a game in Italy if they can. France is great, but the Italians really love to welcome the away fans.
Mind you, we got a great welcome from the Weegies too a couple of seasons back.
I love the Euro games.

Will definately have to try to get to one of our away games in Italy or France sometime. Furthest I've managed is Thomond. Problem is I am usually on either a hockey or rugby or both, side line at that time on a Saturday!
Love watching Ulster but I don't think I'd miss all the kids' sporting adventures just for the sake of one game. Maybe some day.

That's why I said "if they can". I realise it would be difficult for some people for a variety of reasons.
I'm lucky that I can do stuff like that (so long as my company allow me the leave!)
Zzzzzs time for me.
G'night team.

Brynmawr home Prop. Should be ok, but our firsts have lost our last three games. We shall see. Might not be on for sure. Pitch is under water a bit, so depends how much rain falls before Sat. I think they'll do their best to get it played.

Cheers Hound. I don't like being reminded of that Euro campaign though. 0/6 for the Dragons
Though I did get to 4/6 games, only missing Glasgow away and Toulouse home due to my first Afghan stint. So that was worthwhile.
