I've never seen a ballboy lay on top of the ball like that before. Like he was trying to hatch an egg!GSC wrote:Swansea would hardly be the first team to tell their ballboys to take their time while they lead.

He was clearly kicking the ball, but obviously should have left it to the ref. These things can happen in the heat of the moment.

Hazard did nothing wrong in my view. That t*t of a ballboy was trying to waste time by falling on the ball, Hazard simply kicked it out from underneath him.

So the kid is just a spoilt little rich kid that has been giving it to his mates that he will waste time and then does.

He did do something wrong, just not as bad as some of the media are making out.
The boy did apologise as well, which was decent of him. Think he realises that he acted like a pr..k!

Yer it was bad, the little sh|t was so bailant as well diving over the ball. I can understand Hazard's frustrations and if anythinks that he intended to kick boy they are delusional.
And also if he's 17 he should know better (the whopper) and should at least have been promoted to steward by now.

well no he probally didnt.
but tbh he is 21, the 'kid' is 17..
both spoilt brats..
what can we expect.
Should we expect more from hazard because he is a Pro footballer..
I mean the kids dad is rich and a director of swansea. He should be drilled on ethics as much as hazard- He is representative of swansea in the same way Hazard is for chelsea!
It was a little playground spat..

Reading the guy's Twitter; he wasn't actually supposed to be a ballboy that night, he'd stopped being one this season (as he was too old) but somebody couldn't get there because of the snow.
Obviously just being an idiot and I hate how the media are reporting it as "Hazard kicks ball boy" because he didn't...

I thought Hazrd had kicked a 10 year old boy in the stomach when I first read about it.
After seeing it, I reckon the 17 year old boy is a spoilt little attention seeker.

Will it really be that great though? The standard of football will probably be a lot lower and this perhaps could just highlight how little the bigger clubs care about the League Cup. Apart from Chelsea, no teams seemed to really go for it in this cup.

No justification for kicking out whether at the boy or the ball......
Even worse .....A Swansea kid in a Swansea stadium....
Talk about incitement....Lucky some of the fans didn't smash his pampered butt...
Absolutely pathetic.......justifying something like this...
Soccer fans are tribal but this is just ridiculous...

Assaulted? He kicked the ball. If he had kicked the baall boy on purpose then that's different but he didn't.
The fact is, most if not all Swansea fans would agree with me and a few others and lay blame with both.

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 3
If he had actually kicked the ball boy, then I and I imagine almost everybody would be calling for Hazard to get a big ban, but he didn't even kick the ball boy! The only reason it looked like he had done something violent is because the ball boy pretending to be hurt!
I am shocked at the amount of people calling for Hazard's head rather than criticising a ball boy who deliberately ruined the tie. First, he wanted to waste time, he said so before the game and lying on the ball when he shouldn't even have been near it is about as close to conclusive proof as you can get. Secondly, he blatantly pretending to be hurt so Hazard would be punished! I'm not sure whether he though Hazard would get sent off, but he pretending to be hurt and it's ridiculous.
The FA really should overturn the three match ban which I can't understand what it has been awarded for. If the ball boy had stood up after Hazard had kicked the ball from under him, we wouldn't even have been talking about this.

Who said romance was dead?
That's a slightly snobbish view in my opinion. Had any of the "big teams" reached the last four they'd have taken it alot more seriously. Arsenal fielded a near-on full side against Bradford and Chelsea will be disappointed they didn't reach the final too. Yes the bigger clubs use the competition to utilise their bulging squads but I don't believe they totally dismiss it.
20 years ago a fourth tiered club reaching a major cup final would have been BIG news but these days such an achievement appears to be sniffed at which is a shame.
I'll be watching it anyway. Both sides have been an absolute credit and good luck to em.

I Love the FA cup when the lesser clubs get far.. Not a fan when we get the top clubs at the end after not even trying hard before hand..
However swansea IMO are a top club these days and every credit to them

Fair play to Bradford for beating us over the 2 legs. Good luck to them in the final.
I think it could be a very interesting final.
I'm a fan of lower league teams getting far in cup competitions.
Changes things up a bit from the usual big sides being there.

Totally correct Freek! Chelsea put our a full strength side over the two legs, as did Arsenal away at Bradford and so did Villa.
Just because it isn't a Arsenal vs Man Utd final doesn't mean the game is gonna be any worse. Lower league teams games are way more exciting then Premier League games in geenral anyways

For only £10m I think it's ok, for someone so young. The £5m top-ups won't happen if he's rubbish.
Don't think Walcott or Ox had done much more when Arsenal shelled out the same for them.

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 3
Zaha 10 Million to Man United. Obviously being a Brighton fan people would just say im offering a biast opinion. But i really feel Zaha is over rated big time. Yes he is 20 and he may get better, however 10 million is still a huge ammount of cash to splash on a player who has only done as well in the Championship as we have seen from guys like Tom Ince, Yannic Bollaise, Sollu Alluko, Backao Sacko, Will Buckley, Craig Noone, Andy Reid, Chris Burke etc Some spellings there maybe completely wrong, but i am in a huge rush.
Zaha does have skills without question, but to be a class winger its not just about dancing past your full back on the rare occasion. Its about picking passes to unlock defenses, proving decent crosses, and linking up well with your strikers. He should never put an England shirt on as he clearly wasn't ready and speaking to many friends who sadly support palace they have said since then he has been half the player he was. They feel Glenn Murray would be the biggest lose out of all of there key players in the jan market.

When Spurs signed Bale, Arsenal signed The Ox/Walcott they were far from the finished article but the talent was there for all to see. Same with Zaha.
He'll go to Utd and they'll do there best to develop him as a player and personally I think he'll be a superb winger in 4/5 years time

It was pure comedy. Pretty sure the fan took it in the chest and when Cantona got back to his feet and went looking for more the fan crapped it back up the stand. By far the best thing Cantona ever did in football.
