First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The pub has made its way to the original Walkabout pub in London's Covent Garden, as it is set to close its doors at the end of the month.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Mark Ella or recent birthday boys Gibson and Glas a du above the bar.

I think you're right Staggy - so much has changed in rugby now many of the old "legends" wouldn't make a modern squad - and vice versa probably. One of the reasons I get so fed up with the Welsh media in particular comparing today's players with the 1970s.
Well I've had a Good Friday. Hope everyone else has.

Evening Cari and pub.
Staggy - Gareth Edwards had a reverse pass if need be.

First scrum and the pitch is cutting up badly. Matuualu (?) can be a bit flaky.

Whoohoo. Sheer power from Munster gets across the line. O'Gara converts and it's 7-7.

After that interception try in the first minute, Glasgow are pretty much pinned back in their own half.

TYhings are alright. We've no snow here anymore, hope it stays away for me at work tomorro! Hopefully this game is better than Embra-Zebre

Ah. Have the Embra v Zebre match recorded for later but .. what's your recommendation? Don't bother? Don't know the result, btw.
Yeah, we've had no new snow for a few days - not that we had that much in the first place - but it's too cold for it to thaw completely.
And Weegies score again from another intercept from a sloppy Munster pass.

Depends on whether you have time! Last 10 mins worth a watch- but not the rest if you're pushed. Bad conditions and a bad pitch.

Matuwalu's penchant for taking the bal up from first phase is going to cost Weegies because it's becoming predictable

Glasgow are a great team though. Every player from 1 to 15 can pick a great line in attack, offload the ball and run great support lines.
Can't see Munster coming back if Glasgow keep this tempo up. Munster aren't living with it right now- it'll be a try bonus point.

It's great that Glasgow have really cracked on this season. Gregor Townsend will be smiling up his sleeve, given the flak he was getting previously. It takes time to develop such a thing as a rugby team, its style, ethos etc

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Walkabout, Covent Garden
This really is the era of speed. The best teams worldwide spend the least time with the ball in the ruck. Slow ball is utterly obsolete. The era of Irish teams dictating a slow pace is over and we haven't adapted.
If the referee ever has to shout 'use it' you're probably doing it wrong. Want to scream at Williams and Sheridan sometimes tonight, they are so slow, but Munster players aren't reacting quickly enough either to give them the options.
Same with Ireland. Can't take time, ball needs to come back as quickly as humanly possible and we dither over it.

Just seen the scores; I can't remember Munster conceding so many points. Fair play Glasgow, but I suspect Munster are more focussed on the HC next weekend.
And a belated good evening if anyone is about.
Sleepy time for me as I'm off to watch Wasps tomorrow. Can't see us beating Sarries though.
Plans already made for meeting hoog next Friday
It will be good to see him + any other Leinster folk heading to Wycombe next Friday night. A word of advice - if temperatures are similar to now, put plenty of layers on. Adams Park will be 3-5C below any local forecast.

Bore da pawb / good morning all, the samovar's on, help yourselves.
'Judgement Day' today - I wonder if I'll bump into Roger Lewis?
I wish I was travelling in better heart. Today should be a celebration of regional rugby but the truth is, I'm worried we're going to embarrass ourselves.
On Glasgow - Munster: I saw the second half and I was impressed by Glasgow once again, they play such a great, positive brand of rugby. They don't go wide for the sake of it, but they have such a great offloading game whether it's backs or forwards, and they hardly ever seem to force it. I have to say, I'd be so, so pleased if they won the league this year.

Morning!
It's a beeeeooootiful day in Cardiff today. Might need but it's blydi freezing so plenty of layers for me!
I didn't watch any matches last night. I was into a documentary on Nile Rodgers on BBC4 followed by two programmes on David Bowie's Ziggy era. Two musical heroes in one night, can't fault it.
Those of you going to any matches today hope your teams do you proud...unless you're supporting the Blues and you enjoy yourselves.
Just checked the P-12 table...Glasgow have a healthy lead at the moment. Ulster are substantially ahead of the O's. I wouldn't say no to an away match with them

Hey Lucky, make sure you do. It's quite windy too (as per) so it'll feel colder when you're outside in it. I may see you guys later, but I'm not sure. I'm meeting my friend in town for lunch beforehand.

It's going to stay cold for a while, so they say. Cold, but dry - and I hope this isn't a repeat of the last few years, when we've had a dry spring (albeit not as cold as this) followed by a wet summer. I'm looking at you, jet stream!

I'm there now, Hound - and as a Dragons fan I'm just slightly outnumbered!
It was great walking through Cardiff earlier, fans of all the regions dotted around. This could really take off if they stick with it.

I think they should stick with it. The London d/h is a great day out for the fans. I've always said the Regions should do this.
Enjoy.

Just to say, have a great day in the Diff, lovely peoples.
I think this 4-way Regions gig, will become a permanent, money-spinning fixture. Look at the buzz it has generated amongst the Welsh regs.
Have a ball my friends. Love to be amongst ye today.
Believe.

I hope all's well with regs at the MS. We eent down 13-22 to Sarries having gone 13-0 up.
Terrible 2nd half from us, but Sarries got a controversial try that looked like there was at least one knock on.

Fantastic result for Ulster beating 16 leinster men in dubs. Notable shout out to Kyle McCall who came on to face one of the favourites for the lions xv in Healy and more than held his own. 2 years below me at Wallace he has the potential to be some pup.

Evening All
Well despite the dodgy title "Judgement Day" was superb. I really enjoyed it as did my pal who doesn't really support regional rugby, but likes Leigh HP It was great to see all four regions fans having a laugh and singing together. Of course I'm really pleased with the O's result and thankfully we're still in the top four...just! Justin Tips was great, but I've no idea who the MOTM was. Unfortunately didn't see any of the regs.

Good to hear that all went well in the big shindig in Cardiff too.
Didn't see either match but the scoreline in the first suggests that the Dragons were much better than Lucky feared?
Well down the Os too.

Here's the first Ulster try- great assist by Paddy Jackson;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nB4cpeFpQgs
And the second try for Iain Henderson. Conway gets sucked into pillar defence and leaves Leinster short on the blindside.
