Brilliant stuff that
I thought you were fishing here, when you look at the top talent Spurs lost last Summer I think you're being very harsh on AVB considering he won 3 more points than the team that finished 4th in 2011/12 and I think it was also Spurs' highest points total in the Premiership.
I think they could have done better but when you consider points wise they've had their strongest season then its harsh to criticise

I'm still struggling to see this happening, and to be honest I'd be really disappointed in Ruddy if he did. If it was like a Mignolet move, where he could become the number 1, I'd say all the best. But he would be number 2 for sure.
As for selling him, some Norwich fans are having fits, but I always say every player has their price. Ruddy's would be rather a lot more than the touted 5m I expect (in what his worth to us)

I do feel for Fernandes a bit. Can't fault the enthusiasm or loyalty but he's made some painfully naive decisions and trusted the wrong people. Him taking over discipline could be another

West Ham (hey, thats my side!) have apparently agreed a £6.7m fee for Colombian striker Duvan Zapata.

Olly i understand what you are saying completely.
What i will say is that we seem to be building for the present and future, especially looking at some of our signings over the past few years or so. Lukaku/De Bruyne/Hazard/Mata/Shurrle/Van Ginkel (The Van Ginkel transfer has been completed today by the way) and players from our academy etc.
We still have players who have been at Chelsea for quite a few years and thats great and i hope that they can stay and im sure they will. Jose Mourinho has said he wants to stay for a long time which means he has time to build a team which is what he said he wants to do i'm pretty sure and i believe that Shurrle and Van Ginkel have signed 5 year contracts with us and i am sure that they will be part of the plans of the squad building along with the other players of course.
Anyway the point i'm trying to make is that Cech is a Goalkeeper who still has plenty left in him and yes whilst Ruddy would most likely be number 2 or 3 if and when Courtois is with us (He is out on loan at the moment) i still believe he would get games, even with Cech as the number 1 keeper. I believe that eventually when Cech does decide to stop playing or if he was to leave for whatever reason thats where Ruddy would then fill in as he still has plenty of years left to play football also.

What about Courtois though?
My advice to Ruddy would be to talk to Scott Parker, Scott Sinclair and the sort about their moves to these clubs. Especially in the current climate, you get the feeling English players are making up the necessary numbers for the squad rule, ie British trained players etc

Ruddy should leave Norwich . His international dreams will be better at Chelsea and he will be playing under a better manager at a nicer stadium. I would rather live in London than Norwich as well.

I was also going to mention Courtois, sorry. I think that he is in the future plans for us too, hes a great keeper and he is 22 or 23 i believe and he is gaining a lot of experience from playing as pretty much the number 1 keeper at Athletico Madrid which is great and We could have Cech, Ruddy and Courtois as our 3 first team keepers.

All joking a side Ruddy would be stupid to leave Norwich. He would join the class of Sinclair, Wright Phillips etc of players leaving for a better club and spending most of there time siting on the bench and having a half time ping. He should stay at Norwich, who appear to be a club going places next season, also force his way to become England's number 2.

Tbf anywheres nicer than Norwich. And sitting on the bench never did Wayne Bridges England career harm.
He's not good enough for Chelsea as a #1 tho. I imagine if something happened to Cech, Courtois would be next in line

I love Big John, but even I cannot say he is better than Cech or Courtois. As Chris says this is purely to sit on the bench and fill the home grown quota rule.
Butland saw the light and went to a place where he has more chance of 1st XI football. Ruddy hopefully will see it too. It's not as if he's getting it bad here either. We have the goddamn England GK coach on our staff!!!
Would be seriously disappointed in him if he went. Would be basically selling out for the money imo (although it's his career, do with it what he wants)

Thinking about it, i think Courtois is our number 2 at the moment, i know that he is on loan but if for any reason that Cech were to leave perhaps or for when he eventually retires (I think he has plenty of years left like i said and i'm happy for him to stay on for as long as he can and wants to of course) but when and if it happens then i think Courtois will be our next number 1 goalkeeper which i am also happy with.

If he was to leave, I don't think we'd go into the season with Bunn as our number 1, despite him doing a decent enough job filling in for Ruddy last year
I'd like to see us make a move for McCarthy or Forster.
Would give us some more monies to splash (going all FM on you bitches now)

Marca are reporting that Real Madrid have decided to play hardball over the Higuain deal, and have turned down a £23 million bid. They also say that Real Sociedad's young midfield Asier Illaremendi will join Los Merengues for about £25 million.

I can't understand why Chelsea would waste upwards of £5 million on a back up keeper when Schwarzer is available on a free...

Still doesn't change the fact 5 mill + is a lot to pay for a back up keeper. I'd rather have Schwarzer for two years and look at the problem again then.

Pointless, expensive, stupid. Connor Wickham cost £8m and has never been given a chance to prove himself at Sunderland, instead here comes a guy who's already shown he can't hack the PL, on huge wages and huge transfer fee.Holymiky wrote:"AZ Alkmaar striker Jozy Altidore will have talks with Sunderland after the clubs agreed a deal for the United States international."

Paulinho looks a cracking signing, but we'll see. May take a year to settle. Looks like the end for Parker, Huddlestone and maybe even Dempsey

He's only 23 and played sporadically for a crap Hull side when he was younger. Good player, grown a lot and has the attributes you'd want. And they still have Fletcher.

Looking forward to seeing Paulhino in the Premiership, he will link up well with Tottenham. If they can keep Bale and add a forward ideally Benteke, they could be a team to look out for.
Altidore is a playing i have always rated, be interesting to see what he can do at Sunderland.

Bojan joins Ajax for the season on loan.
He is 23 now, and is joining after only 10 goals in Italy over the last 2 years, he needs this move in Holland to work out if he has any chance of proving himself to Barcelona.

I will always bite over Paolo jibes
Good move for Bojan, Marc Overmars was making some good points about Van Ginkel the other day, young players going to clubs that wont play them and expect them to develop rather than work with them to do it. Ajax are the opposite.

TBF it is a shame Dyer has had all these injury problems, he could of had such a good career! Bit like Woodgate and Ledley King. If King never had injury problems, he would 100% be England's best center back.

In other Norwich news Grant Holt is 1/5 on too go to Wigan, which means somebody bet like 50p on him going and it sends the fans into a frenzy
Also they don't seem to have understood their lesson from when "Sky Sports understands Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank is set to be named the new Norwich manager", as this time "Sky Sports understand" Ruddy is off to Chelsea, despite the Chief Exec and manager both confirming no negotiations for any players are going on at the minute
If Ruddy don't go with the team to Austria next week, then I'll start worrying
