Wimbledon Day 8 or 9
First topic message reminder :
There's some ladies on. I think I want Li Na to win this one, along with Lisicki and whoever. Maid Marion too.

Hmmm... he was pretty terrible in his first US Open final. Deer in the headlights.
I also seem to remember him being quite bad in his loss to Cilic at the USO... but then it turned out he had a wrist injury so I suppose that one doesn't count. ..

I wonder if Novak's watching this. If so, he's in a win-win situation. Either his biggest rival for the title goes out or his biggest rival is taken to 5 sets and isn't playing very well.

He'll be more interested in how well Del Boy is I suspect.

I can't remember him playing this badly at Wimbledon. It's gone up a bit in this set, but still it's a million miles from what we've seen the last 18 months. Just got to hope he clings onto this set and gains some momentum to play better.
I actually thought the first two sets were the worst I'd ever seen him play at a Slam.
Yeah probably banbro.
He's still clinging on, he has no confidence in hitting the ball and so is playing the percentages.
Right thing to do I guess when your confidence is on the floor, but I have a really bad feeling about this set.

If Murray were to win this in 5 and beat Jancowicz in 3, with rest days on Thursday and Saturday, he would be fine for the final so not that exciting for Djokovic.
Although if he loses that's obviously a boost to Djokovic's chances.

Del Potro with a realistic chance to win Wimbledon if Murray gets beaten today.

If by chance Verdasco takes down Murray , which do you consider as the biggest upset of the tournament here are the choices
1]Darcis taking down Nadal on 1st round [true 1st round]
2]Sergy taking down the Wimbledon Legend Fed in 2nd round [ofcourse Fed wasn't in great form]
3]Lisicki taking down Serena Williams in 4th round
4]Verdasco taking down an inform and the current best player of grass Murray.

Lisicki. Williams was on a thousand match win streak.
Or Darcis... One of the two.

So Kingraf and Danny you don't consider Verdasco's performance over the rest?
Strangely I see this as the best performance if it happens.

Hmm let's wait a bit longer before you say that. We're still talking Fiasco.

Got the break... didn't deserve it. Standing so far back the camera can barely pick him up.
I'll take it though. Please don't get broken back, Andy.

@ Danny I quite agree with you Williams upset should be the biggest one of the tournament but a small correction its not 1000 match winning streak its 150,000 million matches I guess.

He'll win in five. It's pretty depressing, very dull tennis from Murray at the moment.

Williams upset is the biggest by miles, a boiling hot favourite for Wimbledon who was not running on fumes (Fed), or 'defending' a 2nd round defeat from last year and transitioning from her best surface with doubts about her knees (Nadal).

Well bet 365 was giving 3.50 times on Verdasco to win the match when he was leading 2 sets to 1 , it has gone up to 5.50 now, so its clearly not over eventhough Verdasco was leading by a big margin, my view this would be the biggest upset of the tournament if Nando can do it, the difficulty of winning this match is much higher than the other 3.

I've nothing against Murray but its a pity to see the guy trying to win points starting to lose the match.

As a neutral I'm pleased Verdasco has remained composed so far in this final set. I'd hate to see an implosion (from either player) - with such a good contest the winner ought to earn their place in the semis, not be handed it...

The advantage of serving first may start to kick in unless Murray gets a break soon - otherwise he may be serving to stay in the match every time he steps up.

I wonder how long before FerVer remembers AO09 and the three DFs he served when serving to stay in it.
That minutes break at changeover gives players too much time to remember past mistakes

Re: Wimbledon Day 8 or 9
One area where HE is partially right, is that Murray does not seem to be able to enthuse CC - the crowd is not particularly animated despite this being an absolute nail-biter. Maybe they are too stressed, or maybe they are disappointed by the performance, but it is a pretty subdued CC crowd I'd say.
I'd also say that I am not on the edge of my seat as I would have been for Fed, even though as a Brit I want Murray to win.
