Foreign Transfers
First topic message reminder :
As a general rule, if you want a world class player (and by world class I mean a player that I consider to be one of the 3 best in the world in his position at the moment), you will be looking at between £20-25 million.
For a top international with over 30 caps, £17-22 million, and an international with less than 30 caps £15-20 million. There may be some exceptions to this in the case of certain players, but this will be the general rule.
There will be an upper limit of £10 million for uncapped academy aged players unless two or more managers want the player and enter into a bidding war in which case there is no upper limit.
Bids for uncapped players who are over academy age limits will be judged on their own individual merits.
Current Bids Under Consideration
stnick88 - Netani Talei - £16 million (06/06/12 - 15:12)
anonmattyt - Karl Chateau - £13 million (06/06/12 - 14:50)
Arry - Ben Daley - £15 million (06/06/12 - 12:22)
dammit_chris - Sebastien Taofifenua - £11 million (06/06/12 - 12:04)
Steven_Sharks - Iain Henderson - £5 million (06/06/12 - 11:34)
Ozzy3213 - Dewaldt Duvenage - £12 million (06/06/12 - 11:33)
prop_lyd - Eli Walker - £5 million (06/06/12 - 08:49)

Can't see it with Meyer in charge, be maybe another year for Kitschoff, Etzebeth etc I think. Could be wrong

Re: Foreign Transfers
Lot of senior backrowers out injured though. Lots of calls on Saffa fan sites for Brussow to be left out as they don't need a fetcher with Bismarck in the team and a back row of Coetzee, Alberts and Spies to face include. Plenty of ball carrying if you pick them 3.

Re: Foreign Transfers
I think it will be Flip/Kruger or Flip/Bekker who start in the engine room.
Etzebeth was poor all round except in the lineout against the Sharks yesterday.

Re: Foreign Transfers
But has been the best four in the whole tournament for over half the games this season. Think his physicality will be used.

Re: Foreign Transfers
Not sure if his debut season is catching up with him Steve but he looked underpowered yesterday. Could also be carrying an injury looking at him.

Re: Foreign Transfers
Too good to miss out on. Was kinda gutted about missing out on Rennie though. I was hoping to bring in all the good young Scottish players but you took him from me

Re: Foreign Transfers
Was a toss up for me between Etzebeth and Rennie as to who was my no1 target and when Mat came in with a hefty bid for the Saffa I had to go Rennie 100%. Should give my back row a good balance next season having a proper 7.

Re: Foreign Transfers
Happened to that lad you bought Pete in the 2nd half of season. He's only a kid and won't have played at constant tempo ever. Massive talent, same as Retilick.
Be surprised if Meyer didn't go with old guard or just more experience in general.

Elstadt. Started the season slowly as was injured pre season, but starting to find form now, albeit at flankers due to back row injuries for the Stormers. They are Di short in the back that Deon Fourie started at openside yesterday.

Re: Foreign Transfers
I meant last season, he was the "next big thing" at lock I seem to recall (similar to Etzebeth) and def next Bok 4 etc etc.
Faded massively (1st season fatigue) and has struggled this season. Really hard to judge who'll come through and who won't

Re: Foreign Transfers
I find in the forwards that they burst on scene then generally struggle the next season. Usually takes a few more years to adapt to physical demands etc.
Some bloody good forwards though the Boks
