2013 Summer Transfer Window Thread is continued...again
First topic message reminder :
Four days left of the transfer window and still Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle still aren't moving quickly. The Bale deal still hasn't gone through, there is still speculation that Real Madrid may go back in for Suarez and Arsenal could break the transfer record. Tottenham have also decided to sign everybody.
Available at the moment seems to be a list of the players who were the best in the world five years ago:
Kaka
Fernando Torres
Samuel Eto'o (until yesterday)

I won't miss Bale as much as I miss Ronaldo and van Nistelrooy but I am still sad to see him go. He's probably been my favourite player to watch in the PL since Ronaldo.

Well Moyes has said the Utd midfield of Giggs, Cleverley and Carrick is good enough based on what he saw today so there's no panic buying of World Class and available players like Ozil.

£85.3 million then. World record!
Tottenham have massively won out of that deal.

that's an outrageous sum of money
Agreed Ziggler I expect two or three signings will come in tomorrow and I'm at a point where I don't even care about them being world class, just better than what we have (shouldn't be difficult)

United would do well to look at that Pogba from Juve. He'd fit their midfield perfectly

Are people sure Sir Alex has left? That "our midfield are good enough" speech sounded like it came from his own personal notebook.

Playing Kagawa alongside Carrick would be a far better option than Cleverly, why he's not deputising for Rooney at least is beyond me.

Kagawa really can't play CM, his tackle rate is nonexistent, he averages less tackles per game than even Nani.

If Utd have 70-80m to get 2 midfielders in then I've said it before, Vidal and Gundogen.

Re: 2013 Summer Transfer Window Thread is continued...again
World record fee is ridiculous and Madrid might not be laughing for long. Ronaldo, surely can't be happy with that tag being stripped from him and for his ego. Unless Madrid have utter confidence in Ronaldo to sign that new deal, I would still be unsure over his long term future. I might be wrong, who knows.

Easily. Merchandising, shirt sales & other off field activities involving Bale name. In two years, if he's homesick, at 25 or 26, City could come in for him and they could command £50m+ easily. Interesting to know for sure if Spurs get £10m, if bale is resold back to the EPL before his contract expires.GSC wrote:Madrid will make back the fee easily
Fellaini to United is a definite, McCarthy on his way to Everton.

I don't understand how they can offer that for another attacking midfielder but not £50m for a difference maker of Suarez`s ability.GSC wrote:Apparently Arsenal have agreed a 45m euro fee for Ozil
Of course Whelan is going to reject Everton`s bid for McCarthy before he knows the full picture with Fellaini & United.

ITS ALL HEATING UP! 45m Euros is about 12m less than £50m. Plus, Liverpool didnt want to sell unless it was about £60m

Possible

Ozil- - - - -cazorla- - - - - walcott

Still don't think relying on giroud is a good idea, regardless of form but team looks good.

There'll be a Moyes Out brigade in full force if he doesn't at least make an attempt to sign Ozil.

It'd be Cazorla out wide.
Girouds a good poacher tbf, held the ball up well today. He's not great but he'll get goals

I think they will report it as under in Spain through Madrid's outlets, try to keep Ronaldo happy (although I think how much he cares is a fallacy).
Capoue possible double leg break, real shame for him.
