2013 Summer Transfer Window Thread is continued...again
First topic message reminder :
Four days left of the transfer window and still Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle still aren't moving quickly. The Bale deal still hasn't gone through, there is still speculation that Real Madrid may go back in for Suarez and Arsenal could break the transfer record. Tottenham have also decided to sign everybody.
Available at the moment seems to be a list of the players who were the best in the world five years ago:
Kaka
Fernando Torres
Samuel Eto'o (until yesterday)

Pretty much gambling on Sessegnon, Anichebe is an awful awful replacement for Long.Mat wrote:10/1 Clarke to be sacked first, 4/1 Albion to be relegated in most places. Lump on.

Appears Lukaku is going to Everton as they are paying a higher loan fee. If true, WBA board need to have a long hard look at themselves

So it's going to be Rooney and RVP up against the combined might of Chelsea and City, they're good but I don't think even they can win anything for us this year.

Its more that someone knows some supposed Spurs 'fans' who think he's a good footballer...he's really not.
And i think he'll get found out at Champ level. He can't defend.

Leroy Fer - £4m
James McCarthy - £12m

Anyone think that deadline day was a bit of a bore?
Last year's was A LOT better! Good thing i was at the pub!!!
Arsenal have made a top signing in Ozil, 42 million is a lot of money and he will have to do a lot to live up to that huge sum. Still think they need a new CB and Striker if they want to be consider title contenders IMO.
United well no signings is very worrying.
Palace didn't add enough
Tottenham could of done with another couple of lads.

Some of the many changes this evening to Ed Woodward's wiki page:
Edward "Niles Crane" Woodward is a complete chodna gimp who doesnt know what he is doing and is annoyingly the executive vice-chairman of Manchester United F.C
Useless f***er, ruined the 2013/2014 campaign single handedly, needs to be sacked, should be turned out into the streets of Manchester tbh.
Edward Woodward is a British c**t and the current executive vice-chairman of Manchester United F.C. In his current role, Woodward unfortunately, has top responsibility for the operation of the club. He's turning the club into a laughing stock.
Edward Woodward is a complete oaf who doesnt know what hes doing and is annoyingly the executive vice-chairman of Manchester United F.C
After taking over as the new CEO of Manchester United, Woodward was given a nickname by the players and fans "The Ghost", simply because they never see him. While Woodward predecessor David Gill was a regular visitor to United's Carrington training headquarters, Woodward who is close to the Glazers has barely been seen since taking over the role in Summer 2013.
Has recently earned a bad reputation for getting pointless sponsorships, it is understood that while imposters were scuppering their Herrara bid he was busy on the phone sorting out manchester united with an official dildo sponsor so he could shove it up his arse.

The more I think about Ozil, the more I think I was wrong about saying his fee was too high. Unbelievable signing for Wenger, shame they did not add anyone else but it's a foundation now to progress and make future signings next summer. Kinnear, 'judge me on my signing'.....haha do on you old ****. United have a solid squad, more than capable of challenging for a title, although this summers activity was embarrassing. fellaini 27.5m 'wowzer'.

Love the last sentence Hero
"Understand Man Utd are making a move for Real Madrid left-back Fabio Coentrao on loan." - This I do not love.

£27 million for Fellaini.
Lukaku going to Everton. Worry about West Brom, think I'd rather have Long/Odemwingie than Sessegnon/Anichebe
James McCarthy to go through at £13 million. Gareth Barry on loan.
Everton have turned a so-so window into quite a good one really. McCarthy + Barry is decent replacement for Fellaini and Lukaku will score goals.

Re: 2013 Summer Transfer Window Thread is continued...again
I feel sorry for Lukaku, the more players are loaned out, the less I expect them to end up a success at their parent club. He's only 20, but no doubt he'll struggle to force himself into Chelsea's line up next year. I think Lukaku will score more goals than Eto'o, Torres or Ba will this year to be honest in the league, so it's so odd that Chelsea have allowed him to leave.
If I was Lukaku I would genuinely consider trying to engineer a move away next year if Chelsea aren't willing to give him a shot in the first-team, there will be plenty of top European sides willing to take him.

I think Coentrao is underrated, granted I haven't seen a lot of him, but I thought at Euro 2012 he was really solid defensively for Portugal, making some great tackles and was probably their second best attacking threat.
I really think apart from Evra's mentality, that he's not a great player. He does put in the odd good shift but I think Coentrao is an improvement and expect him to be a success if he does sign.

judge me on my signings he said back in june...........where were they?
Coentrao is a decent player, cant defend but immense going forward. my issue is, he'll lose evra straight away mentally, complete lack of faith in him. why take out a natural born winner, experienced player who's done no wrong. desperation for me.

Alex Tettey crucial to biggest deal ever. Had he followed through on Bale in January he'd still be marooned up on the roof of the Jarrold Stand.
Basically Alex Tettey's reluctance to listen to his natural instincts have led to the biggest transfer in history

That is awful. Where were the real Manchester United representatives?"Confirmation from Manchester United that three men who reportedly attempted to negotiate a deal to sign Athletic Bilboa midfielder Ander Herrera were not acting on behalf of the Premier League champions and were, for want of another word, imposters.
"Reports in Spain claim three men dressed in black suits and claiming to be United "representatives" spent an hour at the La Liga offices attempting to negotiate a deal. The move collapsed at the 11th hour."
