I expect him to get between 20-25 goals this season which is a great return.kingraf wrote:john - I think you're harsh on Giroud. six goals and four assists in nine games.

That assessment of Giroud one of the most ridiculous things I've seen on here. I saw you describe the Madrid attack as average yesterday. is there anyone you rate?John wrote:He'll most likely be the reason Arsenal don't win anything at the end of the season. Yeah, might seem harsh on him but he's truly awful. I'm sorry he was appalling today, if it's not on a plate then he can't do anything. No pace either which at the top level just does not frighten anyone. You'll disagree & I know he's got eight goals but he is not good enough. It's going well so far but once the tough games appear & he's up against geniune quality defenders he will be anonymous.kingraf wrote:Love seeing guys like Giroud do well. Pity he seems to nice to give his seemingly endless supply of critics the bird.
Great effort by Palace, just no quality.
You talk about not doing it in tough games, but he was Arsenal's best player against Dortmund in midweek.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
I know his stats are good at the moment but his general play is just terrible for Arsenal. A quality striker at that club would be on double figures by now with ease. As I said, top level he will get found out & if it's not on a plate, he won't score. So far so good but the opposition has not been good and against Dortmund he did nothing, score a tap in & he's their best player? joke.
If you've awtched Madrid, which you probably haven't, you will know what a slow start they made, basically bailed out by Ronaldo this season. I did not say they were average, I said they are reliant upon Ronaldo, while Bale settles. What about my comments on Isco.....obviously decided not to read them.
Suarez 2-0 WBA - A blatant dive followed by a moment of utter brilliance to give Liverpool the lead is what Lineker has said. Normal service then.

While I think John's assessment of Giroud is a tad harsh considering his goal ratio, I do see where he's coming from.Nakatomi Plaza wrote:That assessment of Giroud one of the most ridiculous things I've seen on here. Giroud might be a decent goal scorer and has some neat touches, but he's far too immobile at times. Reminds me a bit of Mario Gomez in that sense.
Obviously guys like Henry and RVP are almost impossible acts to follow, but if Arsenal had someone like Aguero at their main CF I would far more confidence in them winning the league.

Exactly. Immobile, no pace, needs everything on a plate. He'll be found out, only a matter of time.J.Benson II wrote:I do see where he's coming from. I won't call for his head but if nothing changes soon for United then Moyes will be gone by Christmas
United can't afford to fall too far away from the top of the table, while nobody expects him to win the title Champions League football is a must. Without Champions League then United will struggle for years as they need to strengthen a quite poor team and need European football to attract the players

His stremgths are his height and his size and his ability to hold up the ball. also his positioning is great which allows him to be in the right place to score all those tap ins.

Not acceptable against this level of opposition at home.

it would be a cruel joke if RvP wins as many league titles at 'Chester as he did at Gooner central. The little boy in him would be quite angry...

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
haha, i'm joking raf! UNITED ARE IN A MESS, THIS IS A TYPICAL 'PAPERING OVER THE CRACKS' RESULT. Moyes is clueless, Stoke are awful & the fact United are struggling to get over the line, emphasizes the problems they have all over the shop. As for Arsenal, I'm not doubting, I'm just waiting for the sensible time to judge them, which will ultimately be November 10th @ 6pm.
Everton 2-0 up....Moyes's boys looking good.

Sounds like that is a legit goal that the referee has prevented.
There's no foul so you can't order the throw in retaken. Very dodgy.
