Has Anyone Been To Reykjavik?
First topic message reminder :
Am thinking of going in February for 3 or 4 nights, anyone got any advice about hotels, places to visit etc? Have had a virtual drive-round on google maps and it looks like a giant suburb.

Were they for you to share or did you each get a pair?
Just had a look at Hi Tec trainers on google images and can't say I'm too impressed.

Whereas I just looked at Hi-Tec boots on google image and I can now see what all the fuss is about. Sleek, attractive, colourful and not at all cumbersome looking. I am going to have to order me some of those bad boys.
I'm still confused how you can wear those things in hot weather though. You don't wear them with cargo shorts do you?

We each got a pair of the same trainers. I've honestly never been so well behaved. It has traumatised me for life.
That and the Donnay socks she used to buy. I'd chuck them straight in the bin.

I have to rather embarrassingly say that because I can't be ar5ed with shopping, my missus buys all my clothes. As a result I have a large collection of skinny jeans ans several pairs of winkle pickers. I long for the comfort of some Hi Tech boots and a weather proof coat.

Re: Has Anyone Been To Reykjavik?
That's the problem with fashion. If it is nice but cheap then everyone will have it, so you can't wear it anyway.
And if it is nice and everybody doesn't have it, then it is expensive. My Armani shell suit cost me 300 quid.

To be honest she does a fairly decent job as my success last Saturday proved. Have a day / night out tomorrow as she's away so will go for the double.

Be careful with these man traps Sean. A mate of mine was set up by his girlfriend. Her mate was a fallen angel, she was beautiful and she asked him if she had a girlfriend. Well the default answer with someone as hot as her was no. She was not impressed.

I told her I had a bird. She caught me on the back foot and quite frankly scared me a bit with her directness. It was a fillip for my self confidence hence why I want to sit in the pub on Saturday and see if it happens again.Lumbering_Jack wrote:Be careful with these man traps Sean. Have you been put off going to reykjavik? Why don't you just try one of the Scottish Isles? They are bound to be cold, wind swept and smell of fish as well as having seals? Only let down is that they are probably not as welcoming to gays as the people of Reykjavik.

I just read through this thread from the beginning. Apart from the Trussman interruptions and one or two offerings from michaels, it is a genuine classic. You should wear it as a badge of honour, Galted.

Going to the bush for pleasure because I'm sick of innuendos. Definitely not going for business, the furthest these cheap cnuts I work for have sent me is Birmingham.

All saffas eat is mammal. Are you going to struggle?
I went to a Zulu village when I was there. We went in to one of their huts and ate something that looked like render but tasted worse. Then these big fat old school women cam in and started dancing (in a fashion). They were doing these kicks up to their heads (like Van Damme would) and we had no choice but to cop an eyeful of growler.

My wife bought me tickets to see Snow Patrol in Birmingham once. Carling Academy. I f*cking hate Snow Patrol.
Innuendos are pretty cheap. Anyway, have a nice time foraging around in the bush.

I went to Villa park once on a works do to watch the England footy team. Think it was 1-1 and some young scamp with bleach blond hair scored for England. Could have been against Portugal I think.
That was all very interesting, wasn't it.

On my last visit to Villa Park I sat in a box full of Geordies at the away end (when it was still behind the goal) and Duncan Ferguson headed in the only goal of the game for Newcastle right in front of us. Was pretty f*****g annoying.
