Has Anyone Been To Reykjavik?
First topic message reminder :
Am thinking of going in February for 3 or 4 nights, anyone got any advice about hotels, places to visit etc? Have had a virtual drive-round on google maps and it looks like a giant suburb.

Re: Has Anyone Been To Reykjavik?
I remember having to drink up before kick off because, even in a box, you're not supposed to drink during the game. And I remember the happy Geordies, the fact it was p1ssing down with rain on the away fans was no consolation as that probably constitutes a glorious day for them.

Hmm, seems the swear filter doesn't work when editing a post, perhaps the mods want to have a look at that.

Oh yeh I'm not knocking his playing skills. He was a good player, just a shame he was a complete tool off the pitch.

I hate Villa park. It has been a real source of misery for me over the years. I watched Newcastle get relegated which was possibly one of the worst days of my life.
The surrounding area and people are awful too. I will never go back.

Re: Has Anyone Been To Reykjavik?
Best away ground I have been to is Fulham. Real old school ground and a lovely view of the Thames. Some great local pubs too and the locals are very good banter. Not much of an atmosphere in the stadium but certainly a day out for the family?
Not like this weekend. It will be like a military operation getting to S*nderland. You are herded like cattle and kept back for hours. It better be worth it.

You've never been Tino. St James' Park and the surrounding areas are glorious. Shark bar just over the road is staffed exclusively by up market birds with big breasts, china town offers all you can eat for a 10a and on match days many locals bars have strippers who get their gash out (so I'm told). It had something for everyone on a match day, as long as you are a straight football loving man.Mind the windows Tino. wrote:And St James Park.Galted wrote:The surrounding area is quite a sh1thole, comparable to Selhurst Park and Highfield Road.

Big breasts, gash, eating out for a tenner. You're wasted at Wimpey, you should be on the Geordie tourist board.

Naturally I don't know if any of the above is true, I drink in wine bars with lawyers and doctors, after my shift at the local Wimpey, of course.

I watched Newcastle on the telly t'other day.
My folks are down to visit and my old man is a Liverpool (and Celtic) fan. Good game, I actually vaguely enjoyed it. Not too much rolling around like girls and some good attacking football for a change.
Good goal from the French dude as well.

St James' Park is by far my favourite away ground. It is a lovely stadium. I sat in the directors bit watching them play Donny Rovers a few years ago. Peter Beardsley did a talk before hand as well. Top bloke, great ground, great city and a great day.

Re: Has Anyone Been To Reykjavik?
True story, work colleague was in some retail park in reading the weekend before last. He was queing to park when the guy in front started beeping his horn at the car in front of him. Bloke ended up getting out the car, effing and jeffing at the guy blocking the way. Turned out the guy was Brendan Rogers in the midst of some fairly provocative road rage. Work colleague is a Liverpool fan so followed him around next for 20 mins or so until he plucked up the courage to get his photo taken. Rogers' wife is a big lady by all accounts.Mind the windows Tino. wrote:He looks quite sinister. He has evil in them eyes.Lumbering_Jack wrote:Yeah was a cracking game Tino...

We used to play the game 'pull a pig'. Yes I'm well aware that makes us horrible people (I was never an active participant anyway) but it was pretty funny all the same. Some of the rotters my mates picked up would be too ugly even for Sean.

She was probably the ugliest and it was just once (we were flatmates). I've had a fair few big ladies, 2 at once one time, but because their faces are a bit bloated they tend to mask any discrepencies.Lumbering_Jack wrote:We used to play the game 'pull a pig'. I apply a simple rule when looking for a woman. They must be under 10 stone. No excuses.
Was it fun having two fatties at once? I've never had a threesome and despite my best efforts the mrs won't agree. Such a prude.

I went out with a great big fat one for a while in the 90s. She farted so loud in her sleep once that she woke up one of my housemates, then had the hump with me the next day when I wouldn't carry the can for it. Took weeks of acting like an idiot to her before she dumped me but the "Dear Galted" phone call has to be one of the great triumphs of my life.

Re: Has Anyone Been To Reykjavik?
I went out with a beautiful girl in the 2000's. She had been carrying a bit of weight before but lost it all and looked amazing. Really stunning, clever and very talented. We ended it amicably and she actually went on to have a very successful acting career, staring in some pretty big budget films.
Last I heard she had got married to the bloke who plays James Bond.
She often talked about a guy she used to date who couldn't handle a good game of dutch ovens and had very questionable taste in footwear and coats.
