Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
Lukaku can't play for Chelsea. I don't know what it is but he never plays well for Chelsea. Eto'o is coming good now. Think he's scored 3 in his last 4 games.socal1976 wrote:That is the thing Di Matteo brought Chelsea their biggest trophy ever, the biggest trophy in club football and to throw him under the bus to go back to defend and counter football for a club with Chelsea's resources is a bit cynical. I am sure Mourhino will bring trophies and like you said the current team is not composed the way that he would like it. I am sure they will be better in year 2 and by the end of this season then they are now. Still the league is duller for it to have players like Hazard and Mata going to waste. Mata was a player of the year candidate last season now he rarely plays. I also think he made a terrible decision bringing in Eto and letting Lukaku go out on loan.CFCNick wrote:The problem is that this isn't a squad fit for a Mourinho system. The first time around we had grafters like Geremi, Tiago, Smertin, Drogba, Joe Cole, Bridge, and even Gudjohnsen. That's why Oscar and Schurrle are the preferred players now. They put a shift in defensively too. Hazard is starting to adapt and Mata isn't.socal1976 wrote:Fair enough I appreciate what your saying and Chelsea have had a great deal of success in recent years but I honestly don't know if his formula is the best for this particular Chelsea team with the young talent and technical players he has in midfield. As a neutral he leaves me completely cold. When they had Di matteo I honestly enjoyed their matches a lot more, they may end up winning the league with Mourhino. But as a neutral I generally root for teams that play the style I like to watch to do well and root against managers who play joy killing football.CFCNick wrote:It's fun when you win. I've said it somewhere on this site before. I don't care as long as we score more than the other team I'm happy. I might feel bored if I wasn't a fan but I'm so emotionally tied to the team that I'm fixated no matter the style.
I can appreciate pretty plays in all sports but when it's my own team only the result matters.
The football under Di Matteo was probably the most exciting we've had it. I lost some passion under AVB but that 2nd leg against Napoli when Ivanovic scored in extra time was epic and the biggest I jeered a win since the double in 2010. That was just an awesome team performance and fight back from a 3-1 1st leg deficit.

That is the most shots on target in a premier league game without scoring a goal

He's only had 1 real season at Chelsea. And that was spent in and out of the team at a young age. Can't keep writing him off as a project when he's soundly outperforming every other Chelsea striker

14 shots on target and 31 in total..
wow!
The average goal to shots ratio is 9(that includes all shots by the way not just on target)
The average goals to shots on target is 1 in 4
Krul well up on the stats

Whenever he's in the team he becomes the worst striker at the club. He looks laboured in his runs. He can't hit a barn door.GSC wrote:He's only had 1 real season at Chelsea. Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
Sending him out on loan is IDEAL and needs to be done for all the good players that cant break into a top team..
Teams cant win from the fans though
If you dont loan a player out they dont get experience and stagnate, if you loan them out they end up being to good for a rival!
He is only rated now due to being out on loan. His quality and value have shot up ten fold as a player.
This stops the prem buying more imports and gives more home grown talent chances in the reserve teams as well.
Loaning is the way forward and FANS shouldn't be gutted that the loan player does well. That is the whole point of the exercise!

Sunderland playing 11 behind the ball. A goal is needed to make a game of this

And what chances has he had the last 2 years. A few preseason games, the odd PL game before he's loaned?
I agree on loaning Myst, but not for players that are better than your others. Wouldn't be surprised if Lukaku said sell me or start me after this season

Been looking at the news on Zaha.
I cannot believe Moyes stance on it.
He says he may loan him out because there are so strong on the wings. Is he blind???
Please play him or loan him but how deluded is he to think they are strong in that area

I just dont think Zaha is any stronger, really. Not yet anyway.
United fans will not be surprised to see Wes Brown playing this well. A defender who could never consistently keep fit or keep his best form, but was capable of some outstanding displays on his day

And Zaha was effective on the left and the middle for palace and is for the under 21's.. Man U's midfield needs a player like him.
I seriously think he just hates the kid. Its personal.

Wasn't there the rumor that Zaha slept with his daughter, that could be why he hates him Mysti!

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
He may not be any better but he has the potential to be unlike nani who has just deteriorated as a footballer. I still like Valencia I must admit, if hes on his game he can be a threat for any defence with his strength aand power and has shown glimpses of ghetting that form back in some games.
But Zaha should have been loaned out already, I would have even let him stay at Palace another season and given him the Premier League experience. Guys got potential but needs the gametime to reach that potential

Zaha hasn't come on in one game-yet when he did(pre season) he played very well.Dolphin Ziggler wrote:I just dont think Zaha is any stronger, really. Not yet anyway.

He single handily won the play off's in the championship as well. Last game he played for the under 21's he was also very impressive without any first team football to keep him sharp.
All he needs is a run out! that's it.
It doesn't make sense.

It has to be something like this, because although others may be right that he may not quite be at others level- there is surely no justification for not given him one at least one half of football!!(even in a cup game!!)NickisBHAFC wrote:Wasn't there the rumor that Zaha slept with his daughter, that could be why he hates him Mysti!

I have a sinking feeling about the loan option though.
Newcastle will be a great place for him to go. But Newcastle may be ahead of united in the league at that point!!
I cant see United doing the right thing (and loan him) if they see Newcastle as a threat

He wont go palace- off course I would love him back if it did happen, but he has moved on mentally..
If he went to Cardiff it would be a real kick in the teeth though!
I think west ham could be a great option because he and Morrison link up very well(as long as they arnt arguing off course!!)

Depending on injuries, I could see us making a run at him. We made a run at Vaz Te last minute in the summer, so obviously looking for a winger/striker type, which Zaha fits
