Not sure how to rate this half.
On one hand it looks like the best half we have played for 10 years, on the other I am really not sure if Argentina are any good..

Arg are in a bad way right now. Winless in the RC again, coach quits his post and they lose a couple of their top players. England are playing very well though.

Re: England 15 for Argentina
Are we just going to say that all the opposition we play well against and beat are rubbish forever? Australia were meant to be on the up until we beat them, which automatically made them rubbish. Argentina were a challenge until we started beating them, and now we say they are rubbish...

Yeah. Argentinians being in a mess off field can't be helping much especially when it seems England are genuinely playing well. The combination can blow sides apart.
Hope we don't see any substitutions too early in the second half.

Good half for England, Argie hardly offering anything in this half, very flat indeed. Looks like theyre going to walk it. Ashtons finishing isnt the tidiest somehow blowing a certainty and looking like he grounded too late in the other, his legs looked out first...it was at least worth looking at.
Other than that solid start for England, Mike Brown 36 and Hartley looking good.

he seems to have seriously lost his mojo. he's such a confidence player that maybe this will be much needed for him, and will give us real options at 14.majesticimperialman wrote:So did i. Re: England 15 for Argentina
They must be rubbish though to stay winless in the RC. I think they could well be winless on this autumn tour... Their defence looks very unorganised to me.
England are playing well, they're playing exactly how saint said they should play and evidently it's paying off. They have much better ball carriers than previous years and these guys are very effective at gaining ground. England should score more tries in this 2nd half, Arg should at least get one from a scrum or maul.

Don't think he did ground it in all honesty. Ashton does not look relaxed - a little desperate in all honesty.quinsforever wrote:that, and the leguisamon "just enough" obstruction. LOLGeordieFalcon wrote:I.noticed that.. What was he doing!!??quinsforever wrote:i think ashton didnt ground it....LOL

second half i think eng are going to start dominating in the scrum too so wouldnt be too sure about an Arg score. conditioning and desire. The Saint wrote:They must be rubbish though to stay winless in the RC. Chuckle. New Zealand will be an altogether different proposition. No matter how good the win here it means nothing against them. We're still huge underdogs, especially since the ABs have GOT to want to rub our noses in it after last year, when I strongly suspect some bug did affect them. But you never know.

Enjoying it so far! 36 doing well - forwards are looking impressive and Dickson is giving the quick service he was picked for.

Re: England 15 for Argentina
agree nathan. forwards are playing great. but the ball is being played lightning quick by everyone, especially dickson. he has clearly been told to try this.
i think its awesome that we have real competition for key places 2,9,12. the pressure is producing performances.

Re: England 15 for Argentina
Looked too easy for England that half. Debate will
Obviously not rage about Ashton's try, but I'm beyond expecting anything different. England persisting with anything at the breakdown and it is working for them. Interesting to see how Joubert views it next week. Breaking the gain line with ease and plenty of support at all times. Very impressive but just difficult to call how much resistance Argentina are putting up. They look shambolic on attack - no options, no plan. Playing as individuals.
Interesting to see a Scottish try disallowed for obstruction. Clearly they don't have a fortress to play in. SRU should look into buying one perhaps.

How do the Argentinians turn it round from here? Genuinely asking. What would you do in their boots to change the game?

Re: England 15 for Argentina
As so often on first viewing I'm not sure what to make of much of the game but in short I'd say the forwards are going great and the backs are showing some much needed attacking intent but lacking precision at key moments.
Looking at individuals I'd say Hartley and Dickson are proving a few points (especially for a big fan of the Youngs brothers).
Also really good to see us using Twelvetrees in a way that makes the most of his abilities. He's looked very good so far and will hopefully grow into the game even more in the second half, namely I'd hope to see him display his kicking game if he gets the chance.

Just depends on how useful the Argie and Oz matches are for Englands preparation, neither impressive though thats not Englands fault. Next week the intensity will increase considerably with NZ having that match in the back of their minds for a year now.Cowshot wrote:Chuckle. New Zealand will be an altogether different proposition. OH, yes, a good run out or two certainly helps. Your lads are top side for a reason and it will take some performance to beat you next week. But I haven't given up hope ...and nor have Japan! who apparently lead...Taylorman wrote:Just depends on how useful the Argie and Oz matches are for Englands preparation, neither impressive though thats not Englands fault.
