I went into the canteen again. Had roast pork with crackling, roast potatoes, green beans and some gravy. Then some apple crumble for dessert.
What did you have, Catweazle?

Kids are very observant so I'll take their word for it. One of the guys brought his kid into the changing room and he asked why our opening bowler had big boobies. It has given us endless ammunition for the last 2 years.Mind the windows Tino. wrote:I said they asked why my stomach "jiggled". Just a little spare fat that could I could do with losing. Bit of fusion cooking for lunch today. Tuesday nights cold pasta with Sunday's slow roast pork. I think it is going to be rancid.

Got got back from the canteen.
Beef, mushroom and horseradish pie with some cauliflower cheese and new potatoes. Very nice although too much horseradish. It was the overwhelming flavour and not much else came through.
I had what can only described as a large fig roll for dessert. Pastry was too hard and the fig was too sweet. Paul Holywood wouldn't not have been impressed.

Rather dull ham salad sandwich and a bag of quavers for me. Not great but am trying to shift some timber and the chippy is unlikely to do that.

Was listening to Johnny Vaughan on Saturday. He mentioned that during the week he'd crushed the contents of a bag of quavers to little more than the size of a sugar cube. He didn't say why he did it but interesting nonetheless.Rowley wrote:Rather dull ham salad sandwich and a bag of quavers for me. One of the kids has swimming lessons on a Friday evening. Need to get home from work sharpish and then I'm almost straight out again. Need something quick when I get in.seanmichaels wrote:WTF is that dinner all about?Mind the windows Tino. wrote:Two corned beef and pickle sandwiches for me today. Either that or McDonalds every Friday night on the way home from swimming. That gets too much after a while.
It's a nice soup. The sharpness in the balsamic really cuts through the beetroot. Plus they are on half price. £1.19 per tub.

Weekends are for meat and extravagance.
I'd eat when they get back although I'm a late eater anyway and some people hate that.

Rather uninspiring lunch today due to austerity measures. Cup a soup (vegetable or chicken - not sure), 2 packets of 20p pickled onion space invaders and a packet of sour fizzy apples.

I am having trouble eating at the moment. My eldest boy headbutted me in the face (by accident) and split my lip. I have to break things up into small pieces and push them past my lip. I have a pile of Braeburn apples on my desk that are untouched due to the pain.

I think as a forum experiment you should try a selection of food stuffs as an educational piece in terms of what not to eat with a split lip.
As I came up with the idea I would like you to eat a fresh tomato first.

He does karate and was showing me some move he has learnt. He took a few liberties so I thought I would show him who is the big dog in the family and pin him to the floor. Didn't really work as he blocked my rather clumsy move and the top of his head smashed into my face. I am almost certain it was an accident.

Perhaps the kidneys were chopped up finely prior to cooking so as not to offend? I often add chicken livers to a ragu but really mince them in to a pulp prior to cooking so they are not noticeable.
