I'm not fat. Not TopHat size anyway.

I went into the canteen again. Had roast pork with crackling, roast potatoes, green beans and some gravy. Then some apple crumble for dessert.

What did you have, Catweazle?

You said your kid called you flabby?

I cooked a courgette pasta dish last night and had it cold in my car. Food during the day is for sustinence only.

I said they asked why my stomach "jiggled". Just a little spare fat that could I could do with losing. Nothing too dramatic.

Kids are very observant so I'll take their word for it. One of the guys brought his kid into the changing room and he asked why our opening bowler had big boobies. It has given us endless ammunition for the last 2 years.

That's rubbish. I was about to divert this thread in to michaels's meal time treats. Give you culinary tips and what not. Good night, curahee and day of days in one sitting . Love it when she's out.

Bit of fusion cooking for lunch today. Tuesday nights cold pasta with Sunday's slow roast pork. I think it is going to be rancid.

Got got back from the canteen.

Beef, mushroom and horseradish pie with some cauliflower cheese and new potatoes. Very nice although too much horseradish. It was the overwhelming flavour and not much else came through.

I had what can only described as a large fig roll for dessert. Pastry was too hard and the fig was too sweet. Paul Holywood wouldn't not have been impressed.

Rather dull ham salad sandwich and a bag of quavers for me. Not great but am trying to shift some timber and the chippy is unlikely to do that.

Was listening to Johnny Vaughan on Saturday. He mentioned that during the week he'd crushed the contents of a bag of quavers to little more than the size of a sugar cube. He didn't say why he did it but interesting nonetheless.

One of the kids has swimming lessons on a Friday evening. Need to get home from work sharpish and then I'm almost straight out again. Need something quick when I get in.

Either that or McDonalds every Friday night on the way home from swimming. That gets too much after a while.

It's a nice soup. The sharpness in the balsamic really cuts through the beetroot. Plus they are on half price. £1.19 per tub.

Rather uninspiring lunch today due to austerity measures. Cup a soup (vegetable or chicken - not sure), 2 packets of 20p pickled onion space invaders and a packet of sour fizzy apples.

Two tuna and mayo sandwiches on granary, a packet of plain walkers crisps and a Taxi bar.

I am having trouble eating at the moment. My eldest boy headbutted me in the face (by accident) and split my lip. I have to break things up into small pieces and push them past my lip. I have a pile of Braeburn apples on my desk that are untouched due to the pain.

Laugh

I think as a forum experiment you should try a selection of food stuffs as an educational piece in terms of what not to eat with a split lip.

As I came up with the idea I would like you to eat a fresh tomato first.

That's not very pleasant, Jeff.

He does karate and was showing me some move he has learnt. He took a few liberties so I thought I would show him who is the big dog in the family and pin him to the floor. Didn't really work as he blocked my rather clumsy move and the top of his head smashed into my face. I am almost certain it was an accident.

I think as a forum experiment you should try a selection of food stuffs as an educational piece in terms of what not to eat with a split lip.

As I came up with the idea I would like you to eat a fresh tomato first.

He can have my soup if I can use his work canteen.....??

You really want to use a canteen that advertises steak and kidney pie yet doesn't put kidney in it?

I am still outraged at that.

I don't have one on me, but I will certainly try that when I get home.

To make it a credible test make sure some of the juices come into contact with the wound.

Yes, I had already figured out that you were trying to increase my discomfort.

In the interest of knowledge I think you should do it. The mouth is one of the fastest healing areas of the body so you'll come to little if any harm.

I tried to eat a conference pear and the pain was excruciating so I think I already know the tomato answer.

The ironic thing being the kidney is the cheaper cut of meat I'd have thought so no reason to scrimp!

Perhaps the kidneys were chopped up finely prior to cooking so as not to offend? I often add chicken livers to a ragu but really mince them in to a pulp prior to cooking so they are not noticeable.
