I love beef hula hoops.
My teacake was a bit disappointing. The biscuit base was very soft and had very little texture. It may have been out of date but I have screwed up the foil packet so I can't see the best before date.
Not been a good food day all round.

Re: Has Anyone Been To Reykjavik?
Ready Salted hula hoops are a poor choice yes, but not Beefy ones. They are a top quality crisp. Monster Munch, granted, are also a good crisp as are Mccoys Steak. Not Sensations though, can't get on with them. Those new Walkers Ridged are good too, not quite Mccoys standard but very good.TopHat24/7 wrote:Pretty low ranking as a crisp, in my opinion. Certainly behind 1, if not 2, monster munch flavours, behind Sensations sweet chilli, mccoys steak, mccoys s&v, tyrells veg crisps and even the ready salted Pringle tbh.The Womble wrote:I do too, they were really nice.Mind the windows Tino. wrote:Technically it was still a steak and kidney pie.The Womble wrote:Steak Pie? I am very much a Seabrooks man when it comes to crisps. Their Canadian Ham and Cheese and Onion are spectacular.

Anyone else remember the crisps that came with the little packet of salt in them to shake over the crisps yourself?

My wife eats those disgusting cheese snack a jacks. They feel like polystyrene, smell like sweaty feet and taste like that yellow stuff that comes out of your throat when you're being sick but no more solid stuff is forthcoming.

Re: Has Anyone Been To Reykjavik?
On this street food / Oriental stuff, I got dragged to Busaba's in London. Great food but like Wagamamma's I don't want a stranger's fat arse brushing against me whilst I eat, nor do I want to share my dinner with 5 or 6 other happy go lucky people who want to talk with their mouths full.
This is for the London lot but I got dragged up to another place called Wahacca's. Thoroughly rrecommend it (to Galted in particular), although there are numerous one's and I only went to the place near Goodge Street
it is mexican btw

Two cheese rolls today. Double Gloucester cheese, brown bread, little bit of salad cream in both. Very nice.
Had some grapes, a packet of space invader crisps that one of the kids got trick or treating and another Tunnocks chocolate tea-cake.

I got two packs of 6 tea-cakes for the price of one. Bought them in Tesco at the weekend, bargain. Not sure where all the taxi's came from actually. There is just loads in the cupboard. Have to ask Mrs Windows what an earth is going on.

Yep it is a winning combination. American style pancakes with bacon and sausages drizzled with maple syrup. Unfortunately I didn't have bacon at home so just had the sausages. A nice coffee to go with it too.
Mrs Womble did that once with Blue Ribbands, I looked in the cupboard and there was like a thousand of the blighters. I thought, where on earth have all these come from. Maybe she was a drug lord and taking payment in the form of Blue Ribbands. Nice though.

I haven't had a Blue Ribband for ages. Years even.
Mind you, I hadn't had a Taxi bar for years until about 400 of them mysteriously turned up in the cupboard.

Re: Has Anyone Been To Reykjavik?
To be quite honest, I can't remember. Did you get through them alright? Taxi bars are definitely not dry.
We have an abundance of Taxi bars yet when I went to make a cup of tea last night, there wasn't a single tea-bag in the house that had caffeine in it. Just a load of de-caf sh*t that Mrs Windows drinks. Nonsense.
I even contemplated melting down some of our long position in Taxi bars to make some kind of crunchy hot chocolate but couldn't be arsed in the end.

Yeh got through them ok.
De-caff tea is so wrong! Mrs Womble is currently expecting our 2nd child and has got a load of de-caff coffee and tea in. One thing is for sure, caffiene certainly makes tea taste nice.

I had a homemade raspberry and white chocolate cookie after my lunch. And a cherry shortbread. All made by me, and they really were rather nice. I've made the shortbread before but the cookies were a whole new experiment.

Re: Has Anyone Been To Reykjavik?
Good one today. Went to the canteen and had smoked haddock with a poached egg on top. Some minted new potatoes, a healthy spoonful of peas and a couple of broccoli florets. My only complaint was the egg wasn't runny as it had been on the hot plate for too long and dried out.
Had a fruit salad for dessert. They had mars bar cake on offer but one of the kids asked me at the weekend why my stomach "jiggled". Been a bit sensitive since then.

That sounds proper nice. How posh is your canteen?
I had a cheese sandwich and cheese and onion Walkers crisps. Poor effort as we have very little food in the house. A trip to the supermarket is on the cards tonight for me.
Should I make a list or wing it when I get there?
I had a cheese sandwich and cheese and onion Walkers crisps. Poor effort as we have very little food in the house. A trip to the supermarket is on the cards tonight for me.

Its alright actually. It doesn't taste like restaurant food or owt but they do a few things well. Like the smoked haddock. And the steak and kidney pie, when there is actually kidney in it.The Womble wrote:That sounds proper nice. How posh is your canteen?

Wing the supermarket trip. Buy a load of Taxi bars and give Mrs Womble a lovely surprise.
