The Culture Cup round 6
First topic message reminder :
You could be right. If only you'd stuck to sonoluminescence, it definitely would have merited a round of applause. As it is, I'm not sure my conscient will allow it.

I think it is a grey ground Julius rather than black and white, so we may agree to disagree on this one

It's really good, Jeff. Not sure what it scores on the GSoE but I would easily give it a 7.5/10.
I'm pretty sure it got a 7, possibly even an 8.

Morning, rick. It could be, or could also be a death throe (that's probably a "mortal paroxysm" in Tino-speak). A bit hurt that Wrap-It-Up didn't send me a Valentines card or burrito. There's a branch in Villiers Street which I'll be passing today so I'll pop in and exchange a few heated words.

Well if that doesn't make you feel better then nothing will, you could also go down the Bieber route and egg them

Health update: Still at death's door but I'm clinging on. Been watching cricket this morning which has exhausted me so I'm going to have a little sleep. Will probably have a bath afterwards.

Funny you should mention that. I've just picked up a batch from the chemists. Says I shouldn't mix with alcohol. Does Guinness count?

Don't worry about it Sean, most pills do not send you silly if mixed with alcohol. All having alcohol tends to do is mean the effects of the pills are negated or reduced. There is only something like 1% of antibiotics that react badly with alcohol.
Guinness is good for you as well, everyone knows that.

Re: The Culture Cup round 6
Hi everyone, it's been touch and go for most of the afternoon but I think I've pulled through. Thanks to everyone for the underwhelming flood of messages of support (at the last count I think it had reached about zero). Felt very poorly until I had an orange-flavoured Lucozade about an hour ago which I think has seen me home.
Taste 4/5 - orangey as it says on the bottle, not too sweet or sickly artificial
Health 5/5 - saved my life, can't ask for much more from an energy drink or any other type of drink or foodstuff
Cost 4/5 - at 95p fro 380ml it's not cheap, but you can't really put a price on life (some really unpleasant posters might disagree with this). For 95p Rowley could have bought 16 glass bottles of barley-flavoured Lucozade and a wooden crate with which to carry them.
Interesting Lucozade-related story. The off-licence next to the station used to sell individual Lucozades at 95p but had a 2 for £2 special. When I helpfully pointed out to them that individually-purchased Lucozades were cheaper per unit than ones purchased in pairs, which defeated the purpose of the special, the price of the individual bottles was raised to £1.10. I vowed never to shop there again but it is right next to the station and they do sell delicious Budweisers for £1.20 which is cheaper than the other three local off-licences.

I question how poorly you felt if all it took was a fizzy energy drink to pull you through. Nevertheless I'm pleased to hear of your recovery and it's an excellent review as always.

Thanks Julius. Was considering praying to you before the Lucozade but didn't think it was fair to test the Lord, especially on a Friday afternoon.
@ michaels, thanks for the warning. No plans yet but a Jack Wolfskin and Hi-Tec anecdote is clearly in order.

Don't worry about it Galted. Hopefully your failure to recognise it has distracted everyone from the fact she is called Eva Marie Saint and not Eve.
