First topic message reminder :
You could be right. If only you'd stuck to sonoluminescence, it definitely would have merited a round of applause. As it is, I'm not sure my conscient will allow it.

I think it is a grey ground Julius rather than black and white, so we may agree to disagree on this one

Don't worry about it Galted. Hopefully your failure to recognise it has distracted everyone from the fact she is called Eva Marie Saint and not Eve.
Good point. Next you'll be saying his name is Michael Cane.

Stumbled across this earlier. From the Word in 1992. From 2.40 minutes onward the lead singer decides to do a Julianne Moore on stage?!?!?

Some joyous news to report:
I'm in near tip-top condition again after my horrendous disease. I put it down to my strong constitution, to my refusal to yield in the face of the most unrelenting adversity and to Lucozade orange.

Not as much as you'll need after this half term with your son!

I took Mrs Windows out for lunch on Saturday. Not in Rotherham though. Nice little brasserie overlooking Covent Garden.

I think I may be getting a cold. Left nostril is weeping slightly and I have a build up of liquid in the back of my throat.

Lovely mate, very nice food and ridiculously good value. How was Covent Garden, would guess it was not so great value.

It was very nice actually. The sun came out which made a difference. I had lambs kidneys for main. Beautiful.

2 days. They were actually the first sick days I've had in about 8 years where I was actually sick, the other 2 were for non-sickness related reasons.

Did you have to request offal or was it on the menu?
Don't think I'll ever eat liver / kidney again. A level biology saw to that. Saw the Hairy Bikers do devilled kidneys on toast which looked ok.

Nope, it was on the menu. Disappointed though as I wanted the cheese souffle for starter and it wasn't on the menu when we got there. Had to have Alsace bacon and green salad with a poached egg and crushed potatoes. Glorious.
Treacle tart for dessert.
Did you have anything nice to eat over the weekend?

Went to Ametsa at the Halkin on Saturday, pretty intimidating for a pleb like myself. Whenever my glass of sparkling water neared empty someone would appear from nowhere to refill it. In the sophisticated and silent bar area beforehand I ordered the second cheapest thing which was a Johnny Walker black on the rocks for £12. Disgraced myself by having vouchers for the meal, the maitre d nearly choked when he mentioned the word as we were seated.

Neighbour was a bit worried about the storm on Friday so I made her a beef and guinness stew. It was pretty good and old people like that kind of thing. Didn't really eat anything of note thereon.

I really should have shouldn't I? I always make too much food and she only ever has a smallish plate so not a lot of effort. Saves her eating bread and jam which she always seems to have on the go.

Did you see the minge video I posted yesterday? Whilst I was doing that I google imaged Julianne Moore's. Think she could have gone further with the styling / knocking it back.

Yep. Gets the growler completely out. Cameraman also shoves the camera right at it.
As an aside if you look carefully you can also see a young Rowley dancing at the back with a white jean / shirt combo.

Re: The Culture Cup round 6
Mushroom risotto soup and crusty baguette from Pret a Manger
Taste 4/5: exquisite, outstanding texture and consistency to boot.
Health 4/5: ordinarily this would have scored only a 3 butit soothed my sore throat (michaels, ) and the bread, once soaked in the soup, proved quite heavenly. Although not laden with obvious health benefits the entire package was relatively low in calories (460)
Cost: 3/5: fairly expensive (the soup was £3.25 and the baguette 50p) but it did come in an attractive paper bag (with handles) and the soup cup was lidded. A plastic spoon is obtainable at no extra cost although I was slightly disappointed that Muju (the Pret staff member who served me) failed to mention this. For £3.75 Rowley could have bought an anvil and 2 leather aprons.
Overall 4/5. I would recommend this unconditionally, especially to those suffering sore throats. The soup was consistently warm without being scalding and the thickness, although almost chewable, was not pronounced enough to further torment the infected throat (michaels, ). I was particularly thrilled that the baguette came with a separately wrapped square of butter which was rather delicious. Sore throat or not, I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again, especially when the weather is sh1t.

Some form of paella.
It was kind of hairy and too fishy, if that makes sense.
It was f*cking awful and made me feel ill. I had to eat a penguin bar and 3 flumps to get rid of the taste.

Went to The 39 Steps at the Criterion Theatre on Valentine's Day, was quite funny in a slapstick, inventive type of way (the play itself, not getting there). I mention it as it's kind of culturish so maybe it would be more appropriate on another thread.

You mean she ran out to the bins behind a restaurant desperate to eat for the first time in ages and you tracked her down on her gps watch and put her back on her leash?
