The Culture Cup round 6
First topic message reminder :
You could be right. If only you'd stuck to sonoluminescence, it definitely would have merited a round of applause. As it is, I'm not sure my conscient will allow it.

I think it is a grey ground Julius rather than black and white, so we may agree to disagree on this one

The carol singers with little effort, a group of 5 of them can easily bring down a fully grown elk. Tino is probably going to start some crap about pound for pound and mention a Klitchko and some 2' 3" Mexican.
Wrong. I am going to call you a silly c*nt and walk away.
I've had about 3/4 of a day to come up with a retort and haven't managed to do so yet.
You may have won this one, Tino, but don't think I'm taking it lying down, don't think that for even a second.
No need Galted. I actually withdraw the comment. It was driven by emotion and one should be more careful when feeding off ones emotions.
Instead, I will just highlight that you missed the letter 's' from Klitschko.

It's impressive to see a man correctly identifying a Morgan Freeman quote.

I like that film. I went to the cinema to see it when it came on. About 3 people walked out when the sword-dildo scene came on, including the girl I was with.
She was a bit highly strung.

During the scene with the emaciated thief tied to the bed you should have said to her:
They never f*cking last that long. Never!

Me too. I'm excellent at seeing twists or jaw-dropping moments approaching but that one took me by surprise. I don't believe anyone who said they saw it coming.

I half expected her to be waiting outside for me so I could explain the ending. I think she had got the bus home though. Never saw her again.

Re: The Culture Cup round 6
You can thank Brad Pitt for that ending. He threatened to walk when the studio was set to replace it with a typical, cliched thriller ending with the cops racing against time to save Paltrow's character as she's taking a shower and Spacey is crawling through the bathroom window with a blade between his teeth.

It's also a good film Tina. If you had stayed to see the end of an Adam Sandler film you would have no more stauncher critic than me, but Seven is not a walk up and leave film, even in the interests of chivalry.

Has Galted let this one slide or has he spontaneously combusted with rage? All that is left is two charred Hi-Tecs and a Jack Wolfskin coat that was completely untouched by the fire.

Neither, Tino. Julius has given me food for thought and, for that, I thank him. I have no desire to be average and will use his advice to spur me on to, hopefully, avoid being average (though I do want to be above average and not below average).

As long you don't lose your vivacity and joie de vivre, that will be enough for me.
I have been on the receiving end of Julius vitriol on many occasions and it has spurred me on to be a slightly better person than I was yesterday.

Had an awkward moment earlier. Was having a dump and resting my chin on my hand, my elbow slipped off my thigh and I cracked my head on the toilet-roll dispenser.
