England vs Wales 9th March
First topic message reminder :
Let's look towards the next game after getting ourselves back on track against France, just like last year, after the Irish put the spanner in the works.

I did kinda think he was being.... but that's why I added the "I think" - I wasn't sure.
It's something like I might say as a double bluff on Mystirs mispost....but I'm thinking you might be right now. That or he's holding a very straight face on this one and stringing it out.

Re: England vs Wales 9th March
he did add "up the Arsenal" to a post.
but anyway. I think he has now tried to turn his very angry post around.
Sod him though . Ten to a penny those types.. Feels superior to footy fans and adds nothing of value to the one and only sport he watches..

Taff, I think you'd find that quite a number of Rugby 606ers have a passing regard for football too. I don't watch much of it at all - but there was nothing on TV last night and I found myself watching the Manchester game...................... not the best night to renew my acquaintance with the game, mind you! Paint drying stuff.
But there are many guys here who wouldn't shout about it but watch football

Re: England vs Wales 9th March
Secret, football is morally bankrupt and is to me an abhorrent conning of the masses.I am of an age when it was noble and the players and managers were rightly revered. When my beloved wants to watch some American wallpaper I too give it a go on my android.Usauallylasts about twenty minutes before I despair.SecretFly wrote:Taffineastbourne wrote:I am not quite sure what I am being.Never held this fella in an average regard. His football interest reinforces my regard for his Rugby contributions and gives them some context.Up the Arsenal!SecretFly wrote:Taff is being sardonic............. I always support England in the FIFA World Cup. Hence I endure English penalty anxiety. I can't help myself. It's truly painful.

Can't help myself. No idea why. I think it would rekindle English identity and relive a huge pressure valve in society if joe public England could be proud on the national team again, in their preferred sport. Actually have actual English sporting heroes to be proud of. I think the rise in prominence of the English club, and idolisation of foreign imports is a symptom of the lack of success of the national team. Nothing could do more to freeze wage caps and lower rival club tension than a good dose of feeling its irrelevance.
By my support isn't based on cognitive rationalisation, I just supported England as a kid and kept going.
