Week 1
Chargers @ Patriots
Gillette Stadium
Mostly Cloudy, 11 degrees C, North 9mph
- Chargers:
- QB - Phillip Rivers
RB - Ryan Mathews
WR - Andre Johnson
WR - Keenan Allen
WR - Vincent Brown
TE - Antonio Gates
LT - King Dunlap
LG - Chad Rinehart
C - Nick Hardwick
RG - Jeromey Clary
RT - DJ Fluker
DL - Corey Liuget, Marcell Dareus, JJ Watt
ILB - Manti Te'o, Donald Butler
OLB - Dwight Freeney, Melvin Ingram
CB - Alterraun Verner, Shareece Wright
S - Eric Weddle, Tyrann Mathieu
LS - Mike Windt
K - Nick Novak
P - Mike Scifres
KR - Danny Woodhead
PR - Keenan Allen
Going to try and establish the run with Mathews early doors. Keep Brady and the NE offence off the field. Got some good options and RB, so will rotate to keep them fresh. If forced to air it out, Rivers has the targets to do some damage in Allen and Johnson stretching the field as well as Gates and then Woodhead coming out the backfield. Have the option of trying to get Ladarius Green on the field, especially in the red zone to create some match up nightmares for NE. Will try to keep a balanced offence and control time of possession at all times though.
On D, we are going to try and sell out to stop the pass. Mathieu will line up in the slot and try to take Gronk, with some help, whilst Verner has the job of matching up to Fitzgerald. My DL is pretty strong with Watt, Dareus and Liuget so we are hoping that it will be enough to stop the run without too much support.
- Patriots:
- New England Patriots vs San Diego
Offence
QB - Tom Brady
RB - LeGarrete Blount
WR's - Larry Fitzgerald, Reggie Wayne, Julian 'Edeltron' Edelman
TE - Rob Gronkowski
LT - Nate Solder
LG - Dan Connolly
C - Ryan Wendell
RG - Marcus Cannon

Defence
LE - Chandler Jones
DT's - Vince Wilfork, Ndamukong Suh
RE - Rob Ninkovich
MLB - Donta High tower
WLB - Jerod Mayo
CB's - Patrick Peterson, Aqib Talib, Logan Ryan
FS - Devin McCourty
SS - Steve Gregory
K - Stephen Gostkowski
P - Ryan Allen (like I'll actually need to use him Wink)
LS - Danny Aiken
KR/PR - Patrick Peterson
Tactics
On offence I want us to throw it all day long, get Gronk up the seam, Wayne/Edeltron move the chains, Fitzgerald go deep. Blount pass protect and run the clock down when we're winning. Early in the game get Brady throwing short to warm him up, and bring the defence up for the deep bomb to Fitz or Gronk.
On defence it's man coverage from the CB's on their WR's, two deep safeties and the LB's taking the TE/RB. Our front four should create pressure to disrupt their poor O-line, and they can't run on Wilfork/Suh. Ninko hold the edge, Jones pin your ears back hit Rivers lots.
Patrick Peterson return a TD or two ta.

4 Britton Colquitt P
5 Matt Prater K
Tactics.
Peyton having 4 quality players in Jeffery and Julius Thomas to run through the middle leaving the powerful Demaryuis Thomas and Welker to run through the wide sides hence exposing their defence. We will also use Monreo to power through with the ball.
Defense:
Rush 5 forward while mixing it up at time by rushing 6, leaving a few in a zone coverage defence, we have a good D and beware of the ball and if in trouble try and knock it out/down from the player receiving it or intercept. Put pressure on Smith, be sure to cover Charles.
- Chiefs:
- KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

29 Eric Berry SS
23 Kendrick Lewis FS
Special teams
2 Dustin Colquitt P
43 Thomas Gafford LS
6 Ryan Succop K
Offense
Time of possesion is vital here keep Peyton on the sidelines as long as poss
As Broncos have selected only 6 up front & 5 DB's
Jamaal Charles is key here
we will utilise the run and also use a lot of short passes including several screens aiming to use the space offered up by only facing 2 LB's . TE
The WR's will also be looking to take quick short passes only occasionally looking for a deep ball
The aim is to build long time consuming drives
Defense
We aim to apply as much pressure on Peyton as we can Blitzing often
Both the outside LB's will go after Peyton from the edge on most plays
Bengals @ Colts
Lucas Oil Stadium,
Mainly Sunny, 0 degrees C, North East 7mph
- Bengals:
- Offense:
QB - Matt Ryan
RB - Gio Bernard
WR - AJ Green
WR - Julio Jones
WR - Kendall Wright
TE - Tyler Eifert
LT - Anthony Collins
LG - Andrew Whitworth
C - Kyle Cook
RG - Kevin Zeitler
RT - Andre Smith
Defense:
DE - Carlos Dunlap
DT - Geno Atkins
DT - Domata Peko
DE - Lamarr Houston
MLB - Sean Lee
WLB - Vontaze Burfict
CB - Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
CB - Dre Kirkpatrick
CB - Leon Hall
SS - Duke Ihenacho
FS - Taylor Mays
We'll start the game with an up-tempo passing attack. The outside receivers can beat any coverage and win contested catches. Alternatively, Kendall Wright can catch the ball on underneath routes against poor coverage LB's. Pick your poison. This sets up holes for Gio Bernard on draws and screens that also slows down the pass rush.
Leon Hall is the nickelback in base defense, giving extra coverage against the pass but he's also excellent against the run. Front four will rush the passer and soak up blockers in the run game to allow Sean Lee and Vontaze Burfict to hoover up.
- Colts:
- Offense (3WR set)
Donald Brown
Andrew Luck
T.Y. Hilton Amendola
Fleener Cherilus Linkenbach Satele Mankins Thomas Heyward-Bey
Defense (3-4)
Redding Franklin Wilkerson
Walden Mathis
Freeman Sheppard
Davis Hall
Bethea Byrd
Special Teams
LS: Matt Overton
KR: LaVon Brazill
PR: T.Y. Hilton
K: Adam Vinatieri
P: Pat McAfee
Offensive:
Lean on the passing game with Heyward-Bey as a deep threat, T.Y. working the intermediate routes and Amendola/Fleener across the middle.
Pass to set up the run, and Luck has the ability to check to a run if the defense calls for it.
Regular rotation should be maintained to keep backs fresh. No designed runs for Luck but he can freestyle if it breaks down.
Defensive:
Pressure from both edges (DE & OLB)
Man coverage with the DBs (inc. slot CB), and safeties deep on pass and higher on run reads.
Zone coverage over the middle of the field.
Packers @ Seahawks
CenturyLink Field,
Cloudy, 14 degrees C, North East 9mph
- Packers:
- Offence
QB - Aaron Rodgers
WR - Calvin Johnson, Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb
RB - Eddie Lacy
TE - Jermichael Finley
LT - David Bakhitari
LG - Josh Sitton
C - Evan Dietrich-Smith
RG - T.J Lang
RT - Brian Bulaga
Defence
DL - B.J Raji, Haloti Ngata, Ryan Pickett
ILB - A.J Hawk, Brad Jones
OLB - Clay Matthews, Mike Neal
Cornerbacks - Sam Shields, Casey Hayward
SS - T.J Ward
FS - Morgan Burnett
Special Teams
K - Mason Crosby
P - Tim Masthay
PR/KR - Randall Cobb
S - Brett Goode
Ace formation.
Early running to establish threat as we assume Seattle will concentrate on pass
Once threat established introduce pass
Use Lacy throughout as a power runner
Cobb and Finley in slot positions, Tron and Nelson running deeper routes
Matthews will look to put pressure on Russell Wilson and force mistakes
Rest of front seven concentrating on stopping Lynch
Look to play tight man to man on receivers.
Attempt any field goal closer than 45.
- Seahawks:
- OVERALL TEAM STRATEGY – Two main key goals for this team. To win Time of Possesion AND turnovers.
Offence
QB - Russel Wilson
WR - Dez Bryant, Percy Harvin
RB - Marshawn Lynch (Forte)
FB - Michael Robinson (replaced as described)
TE - Jason Witten (Zach Millar)
LT - Russell Okung
LG - James Carpenter
C - Max Unger
RG - JR Sweeney
RT - Breno Giacomini
OFFENCE TACTICS – Lots and lots and lots of variety. FB (Robinson) starts, but soon rotated with a mixture of 2nd RB (Forte), 2nd TE (Millar) or 3rd WR (Tate, Baldwin, Kearse). Keep sticks moving. Any defence stacked against the run then Dez goes deep, Witten short and Harvin everywhere. Wilson scrambling as required. Lots of Beastmode, especial against a soft Packer D.
Defence
LDE - Red Bryant (Michael Bennett)
LDT - Tony McDaniel
RDT - Brandon Mebane
RDE - Chris Clemons (Cliff Avril)
LOLB - Bruce Irvin
MLB - Bobby Wagner (KJ Wright)
ROLB - Malcolm Smith
LCB - Richard Sherman
RCB - Byron Maxwell
SS - Kam Chancellor
FS - Earl Thomas
DEFENCE TACTICS – If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! 2014 1st ranked D to do more of the same. Lots of QB pressure. Lots of rotation with the DL, esp pass rushers (Bennett and Avril). Lacy will rush some, but focus is on getting at A-Rod and disrupting the passing game.
Special Teams
K - Shaun Hausckha
H & P - Jon Ryan
PR - Percy Harvin
KR - Percy Harvin
LS - Zach Millar
Saints @ Eagles
Lincoln Financial Field,
Mainly Sunny, 3 degrees C, North West 9mph
- Saints:
- QB - Luke McCown .. just kidding - Drew Brees
RB - Pierre Thomas
WR - Marques Colston, Kenny Stills, Lance Moore
TE - Jimmy Graham
OT - Trent Williams, Zach Strief
OG - Ben Grubbs, Jahri Evans
C - Brian De La Puente
DL - Calais Campbell, Broderick Bunckley, Cameron Jordan
OLB - Cameron Wake, Junior Galette
ILB - Curtis Lofton, David Hawthorne
S - Malcolm Jenkins, Kenny Vaccaro
CB - Darrelle Revis, Keenan Lewis
K - Shayne Graham
P - Thomas Morstead
PR/KR - Darren Sproles
Target weak CBs. Graham to line up out wide, if 1 on 1 with Williams or Boykin throw every time. Sproles to line up in slot to attract David’s coverage, Stills/Colston to alternate out wide/slot. Run behind Williams/Grubbs at Quinn, screen game to slow pass rush. Chip block DEs off line
Revis – Brown, Lewis – Djax, Greer – Maclin. Rush 4, drop rest back, Wake at LOLB target rookie Johnson. MLBs play aggressively v McCoy, trust secondary to cover playaction. DL to crash pocket, give Wake chance to chase Foles down. Bring in Hicks on 3rd down, extra pass rush from DL
- Eagles:
- Philadelphia Eagles
QB - Nick Foles
RB - LeSean McCoy
WR - Antonio Brown, DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin
TE - Zach Ertz
OT - Jason Peters, Lane Johnson
OG - Evan Mathis, Todd Herremans
C - Travis Kelce
DL - Trent Cole, Nick Fairley, Fletcher Cox, Robert Quinn (left end to right end, same for below)
LB - DeMeco Ryans, Mychal Kendricks, Lavonte David
CB - Cary Williams, Brandon Boykin
S - Harrison Smith, Nate Allen
K - Alex Henery
P - Donnie Jones
PR/KR - DeSean Jackson
Eagles Tactics: (This hundred words business is tricky)
Run with McCoy, B Brown and Jackson (end-arounds/options), to set up play-action and quick passes (screens/slants etc.) to A Brown and Jackson, but test with occasional deep ball. Ertz and Maclin work the middle. This should hopefully negate the pass-rush of the Saints. Keep it away from Revis.
Defensively go after Brees with Quinn and Cole. Fairley and Cox will shore up and try to pressure Brees inside. David will cover Graham on passing downs, with man coverage elsewhere, with Ryans out for Fletcher for 3wr sets. Allen will cover deep with Smith given free rein to roam.
49ers @ Panthers
Bank of America Stadium
Mainly showers, 12 degrees C, North East 15mph
- 49ers:
- QB - Colin Kaepernick
RB - Frank Gore
WR - Brandon Marshall, Michael Crabtree, Anquan Boldin
TE - Vernon Davis
OT - Joe Staley, Anthony Davis
OG - Mike Iupati, Alex Boone
C - Daniel Kilgore
DL - Gerald McCoy, Justin Smith, Ray McDonald
OLB - Aldon Smith, Ahmad Brooks
ILB - Patrick Willis, Navarro Bowman
S - Eric Reid, Donte Whitner
CB - Tarell Brown, Trumaine Brock
K - Phil Dawson
P - Andy Lee
PR/KR - Lamichael James
Marshall/Crabtree to move around, target whoever isn’t covered by Haden. Run early and often, tie Kuechly in and use Davis in the flats. Gore to see passes out of the backfield. Chip block Hardy, run behind Iupati at Edwards. Take shots downfield if Marshall covered by Munnerlyn, smaller corner giving up 6 inches in height
Defence same model as playoffs, beat them physically, McCoy to go straight through their weak guard rotation, blitz the LBs up the middle, let Aldon make the plays after DL tie up the O Line. Safety help on Smith, challenge rest to beat us 1on1. Bowman to track Peterson wherever he goes, focus on run support.
- Panthers:
- Offence
QB 1 Cam Newton
RB 28 Adrian Peterson
FB 35 Mike Tolbert
WR 89 Steve Smith WR
LT 69 Jordan Gross
LG 70 Travelle Wharton
OC 67 Ryan Kalil
RG 75 Chris Scott
RT 77 Byron Bell
TE 88 Greg Olsen
WR 11 Brandon LaFell
Defence
DE 95 Charles Johnson
DT 92 Dwan Edwards
DT 98 Star Lotulelei
DE 76 Greg Hardy
LB 93 Chase Blackburn
LB 59 Luke Kuechly
LB 58 Thomas Davis
CB 5 Joe Haden
FS 21 Mike Mitchell
SS 27 Quintin Mikell
CB 41 Captain Munnerlyn
Special Teams
K 9 Graham Gano
LS 44 J. J. Jansen
P 8 Brad Nortman
KR/ PR 19 Ted Ginn, Jr.
On offence the Panthers will try and set up a ground and pound/ run game. We will mix it up at the start with passing/ screen passing to try and create space for the run. Tolbert will play at FB leading the way for Peterson and we will also allowing Newton to play some run options/ run the ball himself. If we can we want to target the outside on runs and screen passing (using Tolbert and Olsen). The idea of using the screen passing game is to combat the 49ers trying to rush Newton by allow Newton to realise the ball quickly to short distance targets beyond the rushing linebackers.
On defence Joe Haden will be on Brandon Marshall and our main aim of the front seven will be to rush the 49ers QB, getting pressure on him to throw early and try to negate the 49ers running game. We will use Johnson and Hardy to try and contain Kaepernick in the pocket and allow for Lotulelei and Kuechly to pass rush down the middle.
